Maina-curtorim police arrest woman allegedly involved in job racket
The Maina Curtorim police on Monday have arrested a 42-year old woman from Chennai at Maina Curtorim for being allegedly involved in money extortion under the pretext of providing jobs to Goan youngsters abroad. She was operating without valid licence to recruit people for overseas jobs.

FEAST OF KHANDI KHURIS CELEBRATED AT MAINA
Thousands across religious lines attended the feast of Khanddi Khuris at Maina, Curtorim which is held annually on August 20th. The long bund in the midst of scenic paddy fields was packed with serpentine queues of devotees waiting their turn to pay their respects to the miraculous cross. Keeping with the tradition, after the first mass in the morning, the maina farmers take out a procession from the church to the cross and are accompanied by a brass band.
