This church is famous for the unique bells and clock. I heard a scary sound when I was watching how it works in the attic of the church.

Cork city was named the European Capital City of Culture in 2005 and is full of historical attractions, beautiful Georgian architecture, and a lively nightlife. Located in the South West corner of Ireland it's the country's second largest city. It's also fairly compact so getting around on foot is really easy.
Cornmarket Street is an area built over the River Lee and has in recent years secured a re-development plan for apartments to attract people wishing to live in Cork city, and an attractive business area in which to work and visit. Located off Patrick's Street you'll find many little side streets and lanes, again with a host of shops and eateries.
The Shandon Bells are located in Saint Anne's Church just north of the city centre. Built in 1722 this is truly an amazing sight that stands 37m tall with the bustling city nestled in its shadows. Take a trip to the top and admire the beauty of this wonderful European City.

Hail to the Orange at St. Anne's Church, Shandon, Cork
Playing Hail to the Orange on bells in Shandon tower at St. Anne's Church, Cork, Ireland. Hail to the Orange is regularly played on the Altgeld tower chimes at the University of Illinois (Urbana-Champaign) during daily concerts.
The bells consist of one diatonic octave labeled in reverse order (8-1) and were cast in Gloucester in 1750 and recast in 1869 and 1908. St. Anne's was built in 1722.
I was in Cork for the 5th Ireland Sacred Harp Convention and revisited Shandon to play one of the Illinois songs.

One of the things to do when you come to Ireland
Is to definitely stop in Cork
And ring the Bells of Shandon
at Saint Anne's Cathedral
Pretty Wild, we're heading right up into the Belfry
Never Been in one before.
This is really cool
Because not a lot of people get to ring bells in a church.
They let the public come and ring the bells
You can choose any song you want.
There's Kumbaya
There's Raindrops Keep Falling on my Head
Oh maybe that one would be fun since it's raining outside
Let's go for that one.
Ready
Nothing's worrying me.
Okay, now we're going to head up to the clock tower
And hear the bells
hear our beautiful tunes going.
Uh,So, it's really loud up there
And it's a little dark and scary
and uh, you gotta put on your earphones.
That's narrow
This is cool.
Is this it already?
This is it!
