Congratulations to Lucy and Rhys Williams who married on the 30th June 2017.
Here is a short demo of their beautiful wedding day which took place in Valley Church located on Anglesey. A later celebration was held at the boat yard during the evening located near Trearddur Bay again on Anglesey.

Royal Navy frigate HMS St Albans visits Holyhead
The Type 23 anti submarine frigate, HMS St Albans, arrived in Holyhead, North Wales, to kick off the celebrations to mark the Royal Navy’s Submarine Service being granted the Freedom of Anglesey.
Almost 200 submariners, lead by a Royal Marine band, marched through the town with drums beating, flags flying and bayonets fixed.
The parade, which is taking place during this year’s North Wales Armed Forces Day event, will start from Newry Beach, led by the Band of the Royal Marines Portsmouth. Serving Royal Navy submariners will march through the town with drums beating, flags flying and bayonets fixed.
Commander John Cromie, her commanding officer said: “HMS St Albans is in Holyhead in support of the Submarine Service that is conducting its Freedom of Anglesey Parade, and will provide the backdrop for a reception that is being hosted on behalf of the Submarine Service.
He added: “I am delighted to be here. Obviously HMS St Albans is not a submarine, but we are an anti-submarine warfare frigate and therefore we work a lot alongside the Submarine Service, so I think it is appropriate we are here to support our submarine colleagues.”

North Wales walks from our dog friendly cottage in Anglesey
Some of the best walks on Anglesey can be found on the coast path. All the paths are dog friendly although you may wish to put your dog on a lead by the cliffs. We have a cottage on Anglesey, see Southstackcottage.co.uk that is dog friendly so we can often be found walking in the area.
Please note the pictures in the video are not all on the coast path.
South Stack cottage (Y Fron) is situated on the coast path so provides easy access for details please see:
To do the walk in full can take anything up to a fortnight, but you can also enjoy the walk in small sections. The terrain will test even serious walkers and is coastal heath,
dunes,farmland, salt-marsh and cliffs. The Path is never more than 720 feet above sea-level.
St Cybi's Church in Holyhead is the main start point, although as it's a circular route you can start wherever you like. 95% of the Path runs through Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
So expect to see birdlife. Lots of it: guillemots, razorbills, puffins, terns and cormorants.
Look out also for dolphins and other marine life such as seals and purpoises too. There are great views from Holyhead Mountain which is Anglesey's highest point, all the way over to Snowdonia or the mainland.

There is a white sea arch carved into a cliff by the wild waters of Rhoscolyn. Four working lighthouses can be seen and a real medieval castle at Beaumaris which is also a World Heritage Site. And big sandy beaches which don't come much bigger or sandier than Newborough Beach and
Red Wharf Bay where you can get the sand between your toes. Or catch the surf from the beach at Rhosneigr. And after all that exertion you'll probably need to make use of one of our seaside pubs.

St Dwynwen: 5th century princess, Dwynwen, became patron saint of Welsh lovers, when God gave her the power to grant the wishes of true lovers. Although already engaged, Dwynwen fell hopelessly in love with Maelon. Knowing that the relationship could not last, an angel appeared in Dwynwen's dreams and froze Maelon, turning him into a block of ice. Heartbroken, Dwynwen turned to God and prayed that Maelon be thawed, and although she would never marry, her name became forever linked to the lovers of Wales.
According to legend, the two saints used to meet weekly near Llanerchymedd, near the centre of the island. St. Cybi would walk from Holyhead, facing the rising sun in the morning and the setting sun in the evening. St. Seiriol, travelling in the opposite direction, would have the sun to his back during his journey. They were thus known as Cybi the Dark (since he was tanned during his journey) and Seiriol the Fair.
St. Seiriol's Well is reached by walking up a path past a fish pond built by the monks. The well is enclosed within a small building, most of which is brick representing reconstruction in the 18th century; the flooring and lower parts of the wall are probably older. The foundations of another small building may be seen just next to the well (in the lower left of the picture above). This is popularly thought to be the remains of St. Seiriol's cell, where he would have lived, but there is no evidence to support this and its shape is not like other 6th century hermitages.
The Gael appears in two places in LOTM----during The Kiss and Promontory. (The word gael means the Scot, that is, the Scotsman.)

Holyhead Mountain Walk was about 7.5 miles in distance. The terrain of the route was a combination coastal, scrub, heath and steep rocky mountain paths plus some short road and lane sections. Although much of the walk was on level ground or moderate slopes, the walking was challenging as the coast, scrub, heath and mountain were rough under foot and there was one steep ascent and descent. Route finding was generally easy with good paths, good waymarking and good landmarks. However, the section of scrub, heath and mountain may prove a little confusing at times, so map-reading skills would be advisable. There were 6 stiles to negotiate.
