Windsor Castle and St. George's Chapel, Windsor, England, United Kingdom
Windsor Castle has been in the news in 2018 as its St. George's Chapel plays host to the royal wedding between Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.
Windsor Castle actually dates back to the 11th century. The Normans who had just conquered England originally built it to protect their hold on the area west of London and along the Thames River. Henry I began using it in the early 1100s, and the royal family has continued using it to this day; Windsor Castle is reportedly Queen Elizabeth's favorite weekend home. This makes Windsor Castle the longest occupied royal palace in Europe. That said, there have been a number of additions over the years, and many parts of Windsor Castle have been rebuilt and restored over the years.
Windsor Castle is a popular tourist destination, with trains from central London to the Windsor & Eton Central station 21 miles away. From there it's a short uphill walk to the castle entrance.

I couldn't resist. It has no video, just slides, but I had this piece of music (a new age twist on Ave Maria) and I wanted to make this for you. It is only two minutes and I am kinda proud of it so I hope you will take a moment to watch...

Best places to visit UK. Windsor - Royal Borough of Windsor. Windsor Town and Windsor Castle. 2019
BEST PLACES TO VISIT IN England, UK.
Windsor is a town on the River Thames in southeast England, just west of London. It’s home to Windsor Castle, a residence of the British Royal Family. Built by William The Conqueror in the 11th century, the castle was extensively remodelled by subsequent monarchs. Public tours take in the State Apartments, which contain opulent furnishings, and paintings from the royal art collection.
In the castle grounds, the fan-vaulted, 15th-century St. George’s Chapel holds royal tombs including that of Henry VIII, George V and Charles I. Boat trips provide views of the castle from the river. The Magna Carta was signed at riverside Runnymede in 1215. Windsor Great Park was once a royal hunting ground, and its 5,000 acres of gardens, woodland and grassland are open to the public. The Royal Windsor Horse Show (May) and Royal Ascot (June) horse races at the nearby Ascot Racecourse are often attended by members of the royal family. The Legoland Windsor Resort theme park is just outside town.

London, England: Westminster Abbey
Kings and queens have been crowned and buried since 1066 here in this most historic church in the English-speaking world. Filled with the remains of people who put the Great in Britain — saints, musicians, scientists, and soldiers — gloriously Gothic Westminster Abbey is the national church and the religious heart of the nation. English literature lovers find strolling through the memorials in Poets' Corner is a pilgrimage in itself.
