Organ player practices his tune in Dinkelsbuhl, Germany
One morning in early July 2013 I wandered into a church in Dinkelsbuhl when this organ player started to practice his tunes. There were only maybe one or two others in the church and we all stopped and turned around because the acoustics were just incredible.

St.George, the dragonkiller is parton not only of churches an castels but also gave his name to Handel and Lawall. The munster of Dinkelsbühls and the castel of Lisboa are further exambles. This film wants to remind of Wolfgang Lauer, OREXIS bassist and son of Dinkelsbühls. He grew up there with the piano and explored jazz on the bass, connected Lawall with Dinkelsbühl by playing many concerts there. Two fugues of Handel and the jazzy fugue of 'Castelo do Sao Jorge' back up this movie. Scores and cds: info@georg-lawall.de

Rothenburg - a 700 éves St.Jakobs Bazilika 1-07-24-12-19_wmv.wmv
Beautiful Places in Germany
Germany is one such place, the beautiful European state dominantly sitting in the centre of Europe. Travellers to Germany have a multitude of places to visit, from ancient strongholds to gothic castles and keeps, modern entertainment complexes and sombre war memorials. Eat traditional German food, drink some real German beer, and then hike, bike, ski and boat your way around the beautiful German countryside, covered in forests and mountains. Shot with state of the art DJI unmanned recreational camera drones, see Germany like never before.
Germany’s history is as old as the mountains. A long past of dominant Germanic tribes existing in the areas between the river Rhine and modern day Berlin would occasionally burst forth and conquer lands both east, west and south of their borders. After warring with the Romans for many decades, the people of Germany were able to muster around the flags of the strongest tribes; the Franks and the Saxons as well as a few others. As the Franks grew in power, they annexed many other nations into what was labelled the Holy Roman Empire by its founder, Charlemagne. The Empire became a nation divided into principalities ruled by many German princes, and over the next few hundred years they guided much of Europe’s religious, scientific and philosophic development. After unification into a German Empire, Germany experienced a small revolution before the institution of the Weimar Republic. Suffering from the effects of two World Wars, and a separation of the state into two entities during the Cold War, Germany has come out of its reincarnation as the world’s 4th strongest economy, and a world leader with a very bright future.
Every visitor to Germany will visit the Reichstag, the capital, which is Berlin. Make sure to grab a beer to warm the chest before heading out to see landmarks like the Berlin Wall Memorial and the significant Brandenburg Gate. Don’t miss out on the shopping at the famous Kaufhaus des Westens, and definitely don’t miss out on the many dance and rock music festivals that are regular occurrences around the capital.
If you thought Berlin was a party then you haven’t been to Munich. Home to all sorts of Bavarian festivities, as well as the famous Oktoberfest, Munich is the ultimate German attraction if you intend on satisfying your gastric desires. Otherwise the city has a lovely park called the English Garden, as well as a historic square called the Marienplatz, both of which are must-see features.
For a real taste of traditional Germany, take a trip to Erfurt. But don’t linger too long in the city famous for its Erfurt Cathedral and Domplatz. The countryside, just a short trip away is home to the great forests of which Germany is known for. The area is home to great hiking trails through these ancient woods, and during winter, towns like Oberhof are filled with tourists eager to take to the ski-slopes.
If you’re off to Bavaria, make sure you see the legendary Neuschwanstein Castle near the city of Fussen. The castle was built by Ludwig II of Bavaria more than 150 years ago, and is probably the closest thing to a real-life fairy tale castle. Equally impressive is the Fortress Konigstein near Dresden, and is much older than Neuschwanstein, dating back to the late Frankish Holy Roman Empire. A more accessible German castle (not located at the top of a dizzyingly-high cliff) is that of Wackerbarth, and is a beautiful representation of late Saxon architecture. The most impressive architectural landmark is that natural one of the Bastei rocks by the Elbe River and mountain-range. The sandstone rocks seem to stab out from the earth and climb up to the heavens, and astoundingly, at the rocks top, lies a bridge that crosses the valley.
