The St James' Music Foundation launched the St James' Organ Replacement and Restoration Appeal in April 2018, following the commissioning of Dobson Pipe Organ Builders Ltd of Lake City, Iowa, USA to build a new organ at St James' Church, King Street, Sydney.
This video explains why St James' commissioned Dobsons and how it will benefit not only St James' Church, but the City of Sydney, and Australia.

St James church is the oldest church in Sydney Built in 1824.
Welsh slate was on the roof originally, got replaced with Spanish slate in the mid 1970s, the Spanish slate failed due to high iron pyrate content and also poor quality slate.
Combined roofing Australia were engaged to carry out roof the roof replacement having vast experience and excellent reputation for taking on large heritage projects.
Work commenced jan 2012 completed Sept 2012
The project included:
the installation of approx 16000 Welsh heather blue 20/10 slates
30kg lead cladding to roof vents and parapets walls
Replacment of copper rain water goods to building

The Choir of St James is one of the oldest musical establishments in Australia. It's linked to the earliest days of the colony of New South Wales and some of its first members were convicts.

A new spire has been installed on the oldest church in Sydney after the old one was damaged by rain.
Sanctum
This was originally an Audio-Visual work produced using the Clearlight programmable slides computer. The music was done on Sound Designer II and the Fairlight. It was a Semester 1, Third Year undergraduate major work inspired by another work produced using the Clearlight by Shayne Leslie. The supervisor for this work was Martin Wesley-Smith. Images of St James' Church, King Street, Sydney were taken by the composer using an old SLR camera. The original performance of this work was at a student concert held at The Performance Space in Cleveland Street, Sydney, and incense was burned during the middle section.
