St James Parish Church - Bridgetown Barbados | By Aloha Robert
St. James Parish Church is the oldest church in Barbados. It was constructed near the site where the first English settlers landed on the island on 17th February 1627. On that day, eighty settlers and ten slaves arrived to take occupation and to settle the island of Barbados in the name of King James I; they called this place Jamestown. The church stands on one of the oldest parcels of consecrated land on the island, called God's acre. I loved the stained glass inside the church.

About me:
I'm a filmmaker; I like traveling to many places in California looking for the most unique and impressive places to shoot videos. In fact, California is such an amazing state with so many places to visit like art museums and landmarks! But many people don't have the opportunity to visit California because it's very expensive to travel to the Golden State. Instead of traveling, I will take you on a tour to those places and my travel videos will show you a lot of scenic sights and monuments absolutely free on my Youtube Channel.

St James Parish Church - Bridgetown Barbados | By Aloha Robert
St James is what you would imagine a traditional Bajan church to be. The outside architecture is beautiful. Inside, the walls are made of light-colored local stone. The wood is dark and rich. It's such a peaceful place and makes a neat stop on a hectic holiday. You can relax here and sit, walk around or take photos. The original church bell dates from 1696 and is on display. It can be touched. The stained glass and the memorial tablets on the inside walls all are worth some time. This was our second visit and we will be back.
