See Marquette's St. Joan of Arc Chapel
Visit the Marquette University campus, home to the oldest church in the U.S., the St. Joan of Arc Chapel. The legendary chapel was built more than five centuries ago in the little French village of Chasse and eventually transported to Marquette, where it was reconstructed stone-by-stone.

1 Jesus lives! The vict'ry's won!
Death no longer can appal me;
Jesus lives! Death's reign is done!
From the grave Christ will recall me.
Brighter scenes will then commence;
This shall be my confidence.
2 Jesus lives! To Him the throne
High o'er heav'n and earth is given.
I shall go where He is gone,
Live and reign with Him in heaven.
God is faithful. Doubtings, hence!
This shall be my confidence.
3 Jesus lives! For me He died,
Hence will I, to Jesus living,
Pure in heart and act abide,
Praise to Him and glory giving.
Freely God doth aid dispense;
This shall be my confidence.
4 Jesus lives! I know full well
Naught from me His love shall sever;
Life nor death nor powers of hell
Part me now from Christ forever.
God will be a sure Defense;
This shall be my confidence.
5 Jesus lives! and now is death
But the gate of life immortal;
This shall calm my trembling breath
When I pass its gloomy portal.
Faith shall cry, as fails each sense,
Jesus is my confidence!

Around the Corner with John McGivern | Program | Avenues West (#502)
[Latest Airdate: September 27, 2018]
[Original Airdate: January 14, 2016]
Once upon a time, the most affluent addresses in Milwaukee were on Grand Avenue. The name of the Avenue was changed to Wisconsin Avenue in the 1920's, and since, this city neighborhood has been touched by time in every way possible.
When time takes its toll, reinvention and reinvestment can turn back the hands of time. The Eagles Club had fallen into disuse, but in the nick of time the Rave came along, opening the doors for music enthusiasts of all kinds. The Ambassador Hotel had fallen on hard times as well, but along came renovation and vision, and now it's one of the best hotels in the city!
There are institutions here that help us keep up with the times, like WISN-TV, the Milwaukee Academy of Chinese Language and the ever-expanding Marquette University. But if you want to be transported back in time, go to the Pabst mansion or to North America's oldest prayer space, St. Joan of Arc Chapel.
John's favorite time? Lunch time! Choosing between Daddy's, Miss Katies and the Five O'Clock Steakhouse was too hard, so John made time for all of them! So guess what time it is: Time to go to Avenues West!

St. Stanislaus - Tower Installation
With the recent news of the upcoming demolition of a beautiful Milwaukee landmark, St. Francis Chapel, what really strikes us about St. Stanislaus is that, as stunning as the restoration has been over the last several years, it is only made possible because of the burgeoning community – and of course, the community at St. Stanislaus is so strong because of the strength provided by the Lord through an incredible Liturgy.
Our point is that in a time when, on the whole, the number of practicing Catholics is in steep decline, beautiful buildings alone are not what make a strong Catholic community.
If you’ve never been to St. Stanislaus for the traditional Latin Mass, take the time to visit on a Sunday morning, and I promise you won’t be disappointed. Enjoy our latest video detailing the installation of the gorgeous finished copper towers and gilded crosses.
Here is an excerpt from the song you hear throughout the video, translated from Polish:
In your arms, take me; by the cross, give me strength. Into the book of life, write me; into your glory, accept me willingly.

Marquette University /mɑːrˈkɛt/ is a private, coeducational Catholic university located in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, in the central United States. Established by the Society of Jesus as Marquette College on August 28, 1881, it was founded by John Martin Henni, the first Bishop of Milwaukee.The university was named after 17th century missionary and explorer Father Jacques Marquette, with the intention to provide an affordable Catholic education to the area's emerging German immigrant population.[5] Initially an all-male institution, Marquette became the first coed Catholic university in the world in 1909, when it began admitting its first female students.
