GRAPE STOMP Wadmalaw Island
There is so much more to this festival than a grape stomp.........there is also wine tasting, moonshine tasting, walks through the vineyard, live music, vendors and of course, an I LOVE LUCY contest........We tried to get photos of all of the contestants. I did not realize the contest wouldn't be until 4:00 pm. We arrived around 11:00 and I was totally melted by 2:30............NEXT YEAR, I will go around 2:00 and will have my LUCY costume ready. The tickets were $20 per car at the gate, but $10 if purchased in advance on Eventbrite. The Winery/Distillery is located at 6776 Bears Bluff Road..

Hollister Celebrates History with Grape and Fall Festival
HOLLISTER, Mo. -- The city of Hollister celebrated its history in a fall themed festival on Saturday.
A grape stomp was cancelled because of the weather, but the festival still went on.
Hollister's annual Grape and Fall Festival was held on historic Downing Street.
Despite some drizzle and low temperatures runners completed a 5k fun-run.
There was also some live entertainment, lots of food and craft vendors, a beer and a wine garden.
You know, no matter if it rains or shines, we always have a wonderful time here at the Grape and Fall Festival, Jim Barber, executive director of the Branson Regional Arts Council, said. And it's one of the biggest outdoor events of the season. Not only for Hollister but for the entire Branson region.
The grape stomp will return next year.

Travel Tip Tuesday: Keep Your Seatbelt Fastened When Instructed To Do So
Travel Tip Tuesday for October 18, 2011
Welcome to another episode of Travel Tip Tuesday, this is Kerwin with Cruisinaltitude.com.
I'm here at the St. Josef Vineyard in Oregon, which is a little south of Portland, the name of the town is Canby.
Beautiful amphitheater out here and the vineyard is up back there. They have great wines, so if you are ever out here come down here and have some wine.
But today's travel tip is about the seatbelts.
Now when you get on an airplane, the flight attendant goes through their schmiel and they tell you, you should put your seatbelt on. They are not saying that for their protection, its actually for your protection and as they say the protection of the people around you.
Now, what I notice people do is that they take the seatbelt off as soon as the airplane starts to climb out. That is actually one of the most dangerous parts to do that. As you can go through some kind of air turbulence and if you do, you're gonna hit the ceiling. Now its not just about you hitting the ceiling, which is pretty bad in and of itself. [Boom!] Its also about you coming back down and falling on the person [Boom!] right next to you.
That sound you are hearing, is, we are at a vineyard [Boom] the birds are around and that's the sound they use to scare the birds off.
But anyway, so you're taking off and let's say something happens and you don't have your seatbelt on, the pilot have to go around or land again or something like that, you're gonna be flopping around that cabin hitting people and hurting yourself.
Same thing when you land. Do not get out of your seat until the Captain turns off that seatbelt sign. 'Cause he can hit that brakes just like that and guess what you're going to be going forward.
So when you fly keep your seatbelt on.

That's another Travel Tip Tuesday, have a great flight!
