Sacred Solemn Splendor # 1: St Mary's Catholic Church, Indian River; PEI (Canada)
This former Catholic church was dedicated to Our Lady, but has been decommissioned as a church since 2009. It was built in the French Neo-Gothic Style between 1900-1902. It was designed by William Critchlow Harris. The building material is Wallace Freestone from Nova Scotia. Of particular exterior interest is the southwest corner tower with the 12 Apostles. The interior has a unified nave with a transept. There is a lot of beautiful Gothic decoration.
