FAKE or CAKE #2 | Ali from Australia | FUNNY CRAZY Russian Show | Meanwhile in Russia by 2RU team
RUSSIAN NEWS CAN BE CRAZY! Even us, Russians, we can’t believe them sometimes! In “FAKE or CAKE” we prepare 5 pieces of new, and one of them is TOTALLY FAKE. Invented. IN THE END of this video you will know WHICH ONE IS!
This time we invited Ali from Australia to find out, which piece of news is fake. If he guesses right, we give him the cake. If not, he gets a cake to the face!
_________
Today we’ve prepared these 5 pieces of news:
1. Elvira Nabiullina reported mass resignations in the staff of the Central office of the Central Bank and in regional offices. 85 employees were fired as a result.
2. In shop in Kotelniki near Moscow there was a shooting. A man barricaded himself in a grocery store. He put forward a condition – they had to give him a bottle of cognac.
3. In Volgograd a sheep shot its owner in the back. A resident of Volgograd born in 1956 was hospitalized with a gunshot wound. The bullet hit him in the spine.
4. A drug addict from Kursk, lost drugs in the bushes, and called the police to help him in the search. One of the local residents of the Kursk region called the police and reported that he had lost ... a bag of synthetic drugs.
5. A female resident of Ukrainian Cherkassy (Cherkasy region), who accused the driver of BlaBlaCar Alexander Andrienko from Russia of rape, was not his first victim. He paid for the construction of a small rural Church, which he used in a peculiar way – he was often bringing two or three girls of easy virtue there and had fun with them.
WHICH ONE IS FAKE?!

Young and Gay in Putin's Russia (Part 1/5)
Subscribe to VICE News now:
When Russian President Vladimir Putin banned gay propaganda in June last year, Russia's LGBT community went from being a stigmatized fringe group to full-blown enemies of the state. Homophobia becoming legislation means it's now not only accepted in Russia but actively encouraged, which has led to a depressing rise in homophobic attacks and murders.
The main aim of the law, which essentially bans any public display of homosexuality, is to prevent minors from getting the impression that being gay is normal. Which means that, if you're young and gay in Putin's Russia, you're ostracized and cut off from any kind of legal support network.
In part 1 we get a ride with Artem, a young driver for Moscow's gay taxi service Our Taxi, meet Nikita, a 17-year-old activist who has been labeled a propagandist because of his LGBT rights YouTube channel, and Yulia, a young lesbian who started LGBT self defense classes after her favorite gay bar in Moscow was attacked by about 20 armed men in October 2012.

This clip talks about overcoming discouragement as an LDS missionary in Russia. Joy served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Russia St. Petersburg Mission.
Racism in Russia
Racism in Russia appears mainly in the form of negative attitudes and actions by Russians towards people who are not considered ethnically Russian. Traditionally, Russian racism included antisemitism, as well as hostility towards various ethnicities of Caucasus and Central Asia. The director of the Moscow Bureau for Human Rights, Alexander Brod, stated that surveys show xenophobia and other racist expressions are prevalent in 50 percent of Russians. In 2006, Amnesty International reported that racism in Russia was “out of control” and estimated the number of Russian neo-Nazis at around 85,000 in 2008. But despite all this Russia is the second largest immigration receiver after the United States. Russia has also the second highest immigration rate in Eastern Europe after the Czech Republic while other European countries like Germany and Poland stay very homogeneous with lower openness for immigrants.

SUMMARY
=======
Russia (Russian: Росси́я, tr. Rossiya, IPA: [rɐˈsʲijə]), officially the Russian Federation (Russian: Росси́йская Федера́ция, tr. Rossiyskaya Federatsiya, IPA: [rɐˈsʲijskəjə fʲɪdʲɪˈratsɨjə]), is a country in Eurasia. At 17,125,200 square kilometres (6,612,100 sq mi), Russia is the largest country in the world by area, covering more than one-eighth of the Earth's inhabited land area, and the ninth most populous, with about 144.5 million people as of 2018, excluding Crimea. About 77% of the population live in the western, European part of the country. Russia's capital, Moscow, is the largest metropolitan area in Europe proper and one of the largest cities in the world; other major cities include Saint Petersburg, Novosibirsk, Yekaterinburg and Nizhny Novgorod. Extending across the entirety of Northern Asia and much of Eastern Europe, Russia spans eleven time zones and incorporates a wide range of environments and landforms. From northwest to southeast, Russia shares land borders with Norway, Finland, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania and Poland (both with Kaliningrad Oblast), Belarus, Ukraine, Georgia, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, China, Mongolia and North Korea. It shares maritime borders with Japan by the Sea of Okhotsk and the U.S. state of Alaska across the Bering Strait.
The East Slavs emerged as a recognizable group in Europe between the 3rd and 8th centuries AD. Founded and ruled by a Varangian warrior elite and their descendants, the medieval state of Rus arose in the 9th century. In 988 it adopted Orthodox Christianity from the Byzantine Empire, beginning the synthesis of Byzantine and Slavic cultures that defined Russian culture for the next millennium. Rus' ultimately disintegrated into a number of smaller states; most of the Rus' lands were overrun by the Mongol invasion and became tributaries of the nomadic Golden Horde in the 13th century. The Grand Duchy of Moscow gradually reunified the surrounding Russian principalities, achieved independence from the Golden Horde. By the 18th century, the nation had greatly expanded through conquest, annexation, and exploration to become the Russian Empire, which was the third largest empire in history, stretching from Poland on the west to Alaska on the east.Following the Russian Revolution, the Russian Soviet Federative Socialist Republic became the largest and leading constituent of the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics, the world's first constitutionally socialist state. The Soviet Union played a decisive role in the Allied victory in World War II, and emerged as a recognized superpower and rival to the United States during the Cold War. The Soviet era saw some of the most significant technological achievements of the 20th century, including the world's first human-made satellite and the launching of the first humans in space. By the end of 1990, the Soviet Union had the world's second largest economy, largest standing military in the world and the largest stockpile of weapons of mass destruction. Following the dissolution of the Soviet Union in 1991, twelve independent republics emerged from the USSR: Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and the Baltic states regained independence: Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania; the Russian SFSR reconstituted itself as the Russian Federation and is recognized as the continuing legal personality and a successor of the Soviet Union. It is governed as a federal semi-presidential republic.
Russia's economy ranks as the twelfth largest by nominal GDP and sixth largest by purchasing power parity in 2015. Russia's extensive mineral and energy resources are the largest such reserves in the world, making it one of the leading producers of oil and natural gas globally. The country is one of the five recognized nuclear weapons states and possesses the largest stockpile of weapons ...

FILM DESCRIPTION:
A turning point in 20th century war history is the focus of this fact-based account of the 1942-1943 battle of Stalingrad, in which the Germans were finally defeated by Russian influence -- one of the bloodiest battles in World War II history. The film stars Jude Law as Vassili, a marksman from the Urals who is transported to Stalingrad in 1942, and a master German sniper, Major Koenig (Ed Harris). Koenig, an expert German sniper, is determined to eliminate his formidable opponent by any means necessary; meanwhile, Vassili has joined forces with Danilov (Joseph Fiennes), a young Russian political adversary, who is impressed by Vassili's skills and raises his profile in the Soviet Union. Both Vassili and Danilov become involved with Tanya (Rachel Weisz), whose Jewish parents have been captured by the Germans and have forced her to take up with the men on a sniper expedition. Koenig and Vassili begin to develop traps for each other, until fate inevitably must bring the two sharpshooters together. RUSSIA/UKRAINE: THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE MARK VICTORY DAY
Russian/Nat
Thousands of people took to the streets Friday to mark Victory Day across Russia - but many used the national holiday as an excuse to protest against NATO expansion.
Further afield in the Black Sea port of Sevastopol, now part of Ukraine, many of the ethnic Russian population formed a human chain round the city centre to show their opposition to the Alliance.
More than five-thousand people, many of them World War Two veterans, took to the streets of Moscow on Friday.
The Communists had called upon them to join the march not only to mark Victory Day but also to protest against the impending eastward expansion of NATO.
Last week left-wing parties had encouraged people to march during the May Day holiday to protest against Boris Yeltsin's government.
Many of these veterans last saw active service 52 years ago but the war is still fresh in their memory.
In Soviet times, Communist and nationalist propaganda promoted the fear of the enemy at the door.
Now NATO's impending expansion has resurrected these old fears.
The Communist dominated parliament managed to get the Duma to declare May 9 as an all-Russian day of actions against NATO's expansion.
The Communist Party's leader Gennady Zyuganov headed the march through the centre of Moscow.
SOUNDBITE: (Russian)
I thinks that it (NATO expansion) is the biggest mistake of the post-war era. It's an outmoded way of thinking, it's a repeat of the Cold War. It's of no use to anyone and will bring neither peace nor stability. We are categorically against the expansion of NATO.
SUPER CAPTION: Gennady Zyuganov, Communist Party leader
For many of the veterans, NATO expansion, is considered a slap in the face by the West, particularly the United States.
They feel that America is trying to undermine Russia now that it doesn't command the authority that it did under Communism.
SOUNDBITE:(in Russian)
They want to be masters of the whole world and they don't want Russia to be a super power as we were before and which we will be.
SUPER CAPTION: Dmitri Vyugin, veteran
In the Crimean capital of Sevastopol, there was also a large Victory Day march.
Russian sailors from the Black Sea fleet marched alongside their former colleagues from the Ukrainian navy.
The port city saw heavy fighting during the Second World War.
In a 250 day period between 1941 and 42, 300-thousand people perished.
More than a decade later President Nikita Khrushchev handed Crimea to Ukraine, despite its predominately ethnic Russian population.
Today despite its semi-autonomous status, many of these people would like Crimea to be part of Russia and have an affinity for the nationalist sentiments often voiced by Moscow's politicians.
When Zyuganov called people to protest against NATO, Sevastopol's ethnic Russians were more than willing to take part.
Four and half thousand people linked arms to form a huge human chain through the regional capital.
In recent months Ukraine, unwilling to be used as a buffer state between an expanded NATO and Russia, has started to court the Alliance.
Two days ago the General Secretary Javier Solana came to Kiev to open NATO's first information centre and in August the Alliance is due to hold operation Sea Breeze, a massive naval exercise on the Black Sea.
NATO opponents in Crimea believe this exercise is highly provocative and would even consider taking up arms if matters came to a head.
SOUNDBITE:(Russian)
This protest must be heard by those who want the expansion of NATO. Can we respond to it? Yes we can respond to it. I mean that there'll be a new political and ideological protest. Our people are even able to conduct a partisan civil war to defend our interests.

Listening is a more natural way of learning, when compared to reading. Written language only began at around 3200 BC, but spoken language has existed long ago.
Learning by listening is a great way to:
- increases imagination and understanding
- improves your listening skills
- improves your own spoken accent
- learn while on the move
- reduce eye strain
Now learn the vast amount of general knowledge available on Wikipedia through audio (audio article). You could even learn subconsciously by playing the audio while you are sleeping! If you are planning to listen a lot, you could try using a bone conduction headphone, or a standard speaker instead of an earphone.

SUMMARY
=======
However, Russia recognises two more countries that border it, Abkhazia and South Ossetia, both of which are internationally recognized as parts of Georgia.
By the 18th century, the nation had greatly expanded through conquest, annexation, and exploration to become the Russian Empire, which was the third largest empire in history, stretching from Poland on the west to Alaska on th ...
