St. Peter’s, The Oldest Anglican Church | Melbourne, Australia
[FILMED ON July 30, 2017] St Peter’s is the oldest Anglican Church in Melbourne which is located on the eastern hill of Melbourne. It is a beautiful prayerful place which attracts not only local visitors but also internationally. St Peter’s also one of the many National Trust historic properties in Victoria. In fact, the letters patent of Queen Victoria declaring the city status of Melbourne were read on the steps of St Peter's in 1848.
St Peter’s interior houses many fine artworks, including The ‘New Guinea Martyrs’ stained glass window from 1946, the painting of Our Lady which is a 19th century copy of a 17th Century Carlo Dolci painting, The angels woodcarvings by Ola Cohn and many more. Not to mention, look up at the Iconostasis at the head of the nave as you enter the church, a gift from St Peter’s Icon School for the 160th anniversary.

I went to Melbourne for a few weeks in November to explore the city. During the same time it was also Melbourne Cup, one of the biggest and most popular horse racing events in the world. For the most part I try NOT to focus on tourism, rather I try and introduce things I myself would like to know before arriving in a new city. For example topics like transportation and how to take it, safety of the city, laws relating to alcohol and drugs, knowing what types of shops or supermarkets they have, if they have a chain pharmacy and so on. I classify what I do as more an introducing to lifestyle and culture of a city, rather than just travel and tourism ;)
Love YouTube, but you should really also check out my web page! Lots more information, links, maps, tips and other videos that you might like, not to mention everything is neatly arranged under country categories too! Easy Peasy!

Saint Patrick Cathedral of Melbourne Australia
St. Patrick Cathedral - Melbourne, Australia (unofficial video)
St Patrick's Cathedral is the mother church of the Catholic Archdiocese of Melbourne. The Centenary of its official opening and Consecration was marked in 1997; however, the first Mass was celebrated on the site in February 1858 in a former partially completed church, some of which was incorporated into the south aisle of the present building. By 1868, the completed nave of the Cathedral first served the needs of the community for regular worship and prayer.
St Patricks is one of the worlds most elegant and inspiring neo-gothic Cathedrals.
Overlooking Melbournes bustling city grid, St. Patricks is both a monument to the faith and generosity of Melbourne Catholics in the boom and bust years of the 19th century, as well as a place of lively worship, prayer and reflection in todays busy world.
The Presbytery (residence) and Cathedral Office is located in Cathedral Place to the right of the Pilgrim Path entrance, next to the Cathedral Shop.
Office hours are 9.00am - 5.00pm Monday to Friday.
We are delighted to share the St. Patricks story with you.

Vic Stefanu, vstefanu@yahoo.com. Sydney is the state capital of New South Wales and the most populous city in Australia and Oceania. Located on Australia's east coast, the metropolis surrounds the world's largest natural harbour, and sprawls towards the Blue Mountains to the west.
Australia is a country and continent surrounded by the Indian and Pacific oceans. Its major cities – Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne, Perth, Adelaide – are coastal. Its capital, Canberra, is inland. The country is known for its Sydney Opera House, the Great Barrier Reef, a vast interior desert wilderness called the Outback, and unique animal species like kangaroos and duck-billed platypuses.

Welsh Church | Melbourne, Australia
[FILMED ON July 29, 2017] Situated near the heart of Melbourne, The Welsh Church is one of the two Welsh Churches still active in Victoria. It was designed by Melbourne architects Crouch & Wilson. The site contains a manse, a chapel, two halls and a modern office building. Interesting fact to note that in 1896, the Queen Victoria Hospital was established by Dr Constance Stone in this church hall. This was the first women’s hospital in Victoria operated by women.

Cardinal Tagle Mass at St Patrick's Cathedral Melbourne
Cardinal Luis Antonio Tagle, Archbishop of Manila, visited the Archdiocese of Melbourne in August 2014. He led a Lectio Divina (contemplative reading of the Scriptures) and Mass for the over 2,500 people who gathered at St Patrick's Cathedral. Music was provided by the Filipino Grand Chorus of Melbourne.
The mass was organised by the Archbishop’s Office for Evangelisation, which is hosting Cardinal Tagle through its International Speaker Program. Melbourne’s large Filipino community made up the vast majority of the congregation. The principal celebrant for the Mass was Cardinal Tagle, with concelebrants, Vicar General, Monsignor Gregory Bennett, Episcopal Vicar for Migrants and Refugees, Very Rev Delmar Silva CS EV, Filipino community chaplain, Rev Joselito Cerna Asis and parish priests from the Melbourne Archdiocese. Special guests included the Philippine Ambassador, Her Excellency Belen Anota and the Philippines’ Honorary Consul General in Victoria, Virginia Kalong.
Australia Trip Travel Vlog | Episode 3 | Victoria, Melbourne
Part 3 of 6 of our travel Vlog in Australia.
We went to Melbourne & Perth in October 2017, no plan ahead at all, just explore & experience.
It is again a free roaming day for us. We wandered to St.Peter's Church and spent times having fun with 2 young boys. Had Korean BBQ at Changgo Restaurant for dinner. The next day, we met a protest that took place in the city. It was pouring at night, allowing us to look at the city in a different way.
