STORYLINE:
Worshippers in the Philippines, China, Indonesia and Pakistan attended Christmas Day services on Tuesday as Christians across the world celebrated the birth of Jesus Christ.
In Manila's Quiapo Church, hundreds of Filipinos attended Misa de Aguinaldo, or Holy Mass.
Roman Catholics comprise more than 80 per cent of the Philippines' population, whilst other Christian sects comprise around 11 per cent.
In Indonesia, the world's most populous Muslim nation, Christian worshippers took part in a Christmas Mass in Jakarta's cathedral.
I hope this Christmas will bring us peace and happiness, no violence and no riots like past times, one woman said.
In Pakistan, Christmas brought some relief to the Christian community from the recent political tensions which have besieged the country.
People of all nationalities were seen gathering for Christmas Mass at St. Thomas's Church in Islamabad where security was heightened.
Meanwhile, in China, more than one-thousand worshippers attended a morning service at the Protestant Asbury Church, in eastern Beijing.
During the service, 30 recently converted Christians were baptised.
One worshipper, Li Yanxin, said: Once I got here I totally forgot everything I planned to pray for myself. All I could think of was to worship God.
Always wary of religion, the communist government has sought to rein in Christianity's rapid spread in China.
In a China where free-market reforms have upended lives once tightly circumscribed by the state and sent people searching for answers, religious belief of all kinds are exploding.
Official statistics say that Christianity is practiced in its various forms by about 16 (m) million people in the China.

Churches of Pakistan
This video about the Churches of pakistan. Sacred Heart Cathedral was consecrated by Bishop Fabian Eestermans, Bishop of Lahore on 19 November 1907. This is one of my favorite British era buildings of Lahore. This beautiful cathedral is built on Roman Byzantine lines. It has turrets and domes arranged in a very eye catching fashion. There are elegant pews and stained glass windows inside this lovely building. It was built in 1907 as the main church of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Lahore. On the centenary celebrations of this church a commemorative stamp was issued by the Pakistan Post.

The Cathedral Church of the Resurrection aka Lahore Cathedral is an Anglican cathedral in the heart of Lahore, Pakistan. It was built on The Mall in 1887, opposite the Lahore High Court. It was consecrated on January 25, 1887.
The Cathedral Church of the Resurrection aka Lahore Cathedral is an Anglican cathedral in the heart of Lahore, Pakistan. It was built on The Mall in 1887, opposite the Lahore High Court. It was consecrated on January 25, 1887 [1]. It is the seat of the Diocese of Lahore, of the Church of Pakistan. The cathedral is in the Neo-Gothic style of architecture. It was originally built out of pink sandstone by architect John Oldrid Scott (son of George Gilbert Scott). In 1898, two towers with tall steeples were added to the building, but the steeples were taken down after the earthquake of 1911.
The Cathedral Church is commonly referred to by Lahoris as Kukar Girja (Girja being a Hindi/Urdu word meaning 'church' originating from Portuguese igreja) because of a weather cock that was mounted on the central lantern, one of the highest points.
A treasure of the Cathedral is the ancient Saint Thomas Cross of Saint Thomas Christians excavated in 1935 near the site of the ancient city of Sirkap, although its antiquity is disputed . The structure is also well known for its stained glass windows, pipe organ, and a clock that dates back to 1862.
Aid to the Church in Need (ACN) - The story of Shahbaz Bhatti
On March 2nd 2011, Shahbaz Bhatti, the first Christian ever to be part of the Pakistani government was shot dead in Islamabad. He had been calling for changes to the controversial blasphemy laws which can impose the death penalty. In an interview he declared: “… and I want to share that I believe in Jesus Christ who gave his own life for us. I know the meaning of the cross and I’m following the cross.”
His brother, Paul Bhatti, Special Adviser for the Religious Minorities to the Pakistani prime minister and president of the All Pakistan Minorities' Alliance, will continue his work in defence of the religious minorities. Paul Bhatti has received more than a few such warnings, but he has never thought of abandoning the Christians of Pakistan. To run away now would mean an end to the mission of Shahbaz – a cause to which he dedicated his entire life and for which he was killed. Moreover, it would mean leaving my country, which I love dearly. Following the martyrdom of his brother, Paul decided to leave Italy, where he had been living for some years, in order to carry on the legacy of the murdered Minorities Minister.
The Historical Churches in Pakistan | Christianity in Pakistan !
Currently, there are over 263 in Pakistan. All worth seeing these Churches with beautiful arches and stained glass windows in the towers are both wondrous and a site to behold. There are the famous Churches that have been around for over a century, long before the concept of Pakistan even existed. These are the old regal buildings that are the place of worship for our minority brothers and sisters.
In no particular order, here are some of the Historical Churches that can be found in Pakistan.

Christians in Islamabad, Pakistan not celebrating Christmas 2014
In the week of Christmas at the Presbyterian Church of Pakistan in Islamabad the community members are singing devotional songs but all planned elaborate functions including a special christmas dinner with locals have been cancelled. The reasons being in respect and honour of the children who lost their lives during the recent school attack in Peshawar, Pakistan.
Church Minister Haroon Alexander told us:
Everyone knows Xmas is a very happy festival and we usually celebrate this time of year with much joy and fun. But because of the recent tragedy in Peshawar we have decided to stand united with our fellow citizens and to show our respect by not celebrating this year.
Even if Christmas day is a big day for us Christians in Pakistan, we feel humanity is even bigger and this is our way of showing we care.
