St-Albert Cheese Factory Co-op tour
Nov. 15, 2019: My friend Jackie lives in a town outside Ottawa, and while I was visiting her, she said we should check out the St-Albert Cheese Factory Co-op. We bought some cheese curds for my parents. Jackie pointed out that they're so fresh, they squeak. We bought gelato. And we went upstairs to look down into the factory to see the cheese being made. Oh, and I drew a cartoon of the woman who served me gelato. I gave it to her and she added me to Instagram and messaged me. I'll have to find that message so I can send her this video, 2 months laster.

The Grand Opening of St- Albert Cheese Factory
Did you know that St-Albert Cheese Coop is one of the oldest cooperatives in Canada?
As early as the late 19th century, master cheesemakers in a charming Eastern Ontario village were already producing a high quality Cheddar: the St-Albert. Founding President Louis Génier and his nine partners could hardly have imagined back on January 8, 1894, that their little cheese factory would shape the history of the entire community and become a true regional institution.
