Laguna Visita Iglesia: San Pablo-Majayjay-Pagsanjan
Starting from Casa San Pablo, the following stops were done:
• San Pablo Cathedral San Pablo City
• Nagcarlan Underground Cemetery & Chapel Nagcarlan
• Saint Bartholomew the Apostle Parish Church Nagcarlan
• St. John the Baptist Church Liliw
• Saint Gregory the Great Parish Church Majayjay
• St. Mary Magdalena Parish Magdalena
• Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish Pagsanjan
Nagcarlan: There is no parking in front of Nagcarlan Underground cemetery but one can park at the Shell Gas Station on the right side of the road fronting the cemetery. From San Pablo, turn right at Zamora Street in Nagcarlan to the Church entrance.
Liliw: Taken the first street on the right, left on the 5th street then right again on the 1st street to Liliw’s church front entrance. This is only one way- going in so exit on the left street perpendicular to the church façade when facing it. There is a small carinderia on the left before the church grounds entrance which serves a good & cheap rice meal. One can leave their vehicle at the church parking then double back the 20m on foot.
Majayjay: From Majayjay-Lucban Road, turn left at F. Blumentritt Street to go to the church. Take note that on your right at this turn is Ermita Chapel which is also worth a visit.
Magdalena: In going to St. Mary Magdalena Parish turn right at A. Bonifacio Street then turn left on the first street. Use the main entrance at the church front level along that street. A word of caution is not to park your vehicle on the grass especially if raining or just have rained since the grass becomes slippery & you will not find traction.
Pagsanjan: F.T. San Luis Road connects with Provincial Highway in Pagsanjan. After visiting Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish in Pagsanjan, one can go Aleng Taleng’s halo halo by taking the Pagsanjan-Cavinti road. It is just after the bridge on the right.
Nagcarlan-Liliw Road, Liliw-Majayjay Road & Majayjay-Lucban Road are narrow & have no shoulder at all. Road condition is good though narrow.
Enjoy & have a safe trip everyone!!!

Good Friday Procession in Laguna, Philippines
Jeric Pena Reports —
LAGUNA, Philippines — This is a montage of the annual Good Friday (April 6) procession in the province of Laguna, Philippines (southeast of Manila).
The Catholic faithful gathered at the St. Gregory the Great Church in Majayjay, Laguna on the afternoon of April 6 for the annual Good Friday procession of the image of the dead Christ known locally as Señor del Santo Entierro (English: Lord of the Holy Burial).
The images of St. John, the Mater Dolosa (English: Our Lady of Sorrows), and the three other Marys—Mary, mother of James, Mary of Clopas, and Mary Magdalene—followed the Santo Entierro.
Images depicting scenes from the passion and death of Jesus Christ like the Pieta were also part of the procession.
A woman carrying a cross also joined the procession in the municipality of Majayjay as a sign of penance.
The night/evening shots were taken in the municipality of Los Baños and the city of Calamba.
The Philippines is a predominantly Catholic country.

This town was actually a barrio of Pila, Laguna until November 15, 1949 when the late President Elpidio Quirino signed into effect Executive Order No. 282 segregating this barrio Lumang Bayan (PAGALANGAN) and eight other into an independent community. Victoria, Laguna is characterized by flay level lands and good soil that is suitable for all types of crops production wiith abundant availability of water for irrigation purposes makes agriculture the main economic base.
Pila, Laguna is a town that has had National Historical Landmark status since the year 2000, just the fourth town in the country to receive this declaration. The historic layout of the town has been preserved, a traditional Spanish style with central plaza and church, and it’s well worth a visit. Bulusukan Eco-Agro Tourism Park is also located in Pila.

LAGUNA CHURCHES - Visita Iglesia 2017
Went to Laguna on April 1, 2017 to visit some of the beautiful and century old churches of Laguna province. First stop is the San Juan Bautista Church in the town of Liliw. The Church is well maintained, thanks to parish and people of Liliw for preserving this cultural treasure . Second stop is the church of San Bartolome Apostol in the sleepy but beautiful town of Nagcarlan. Some restoration is being done in the facade of the church. The interior of the church is one of the most beautiful I've seen. The church is also well maintained and preserved. Kudos to the parish/parishioners of Nagcarlan. Third stop is the church of San Gregorio Magno in the town of Majayjay. Upon entering the town of Majayjay you will be awed by the churches structure even by looking from afar due to its towering belfry. This church is also well preserved and maintained. I also noticed the beautiful retablos of these churches.
