Städel Museum | Frankfurt am Main
I decide to visit art museum while I was in Frankfurt am Main, The only city with Skyscraper in Germany (That was I been told).
Städel Museum have severals painting that show there, there is Old Master Painting on the 2nd floor, Modern Art on the 1st floor, and Contemporary Art on the lower floor.. It is pretty big place, I have to get some sit after looking some of the painting, lucky they do put some chair/banks.
Don't forget to visit the Museum Shop, it is amazing... I found some great Postcards and books to buy, and I don't usually buy things in Museum shops.
If you have more time, try to visit the other museum not far from Städel Museum, all are close by on foot range. :-)
If you come on Saturday, you could see and experience the Flöhmark.
Info : I paid my own ticket to entrance the Museum, I am not being paid to make this video.

The Städel Museum, officially the Städelsches Kunstinstitut und Städtische Galerie, is an art museum in Frankfurt, with one of the most important collections in Germany. Under a single roof, its collection offers a virtually complete survey of seven hundred years of European art from the early fourteenth century to the present, with focuses on the Renaissance, the Baroque, early Modern art and much more. The holdings encompass altogether 3,000 paintings, 600 sculptures, more than 4,000 photographs and more than 100,000 drawings and prints. Works by such artists as Lucas Cranach, Albrecht Dürer, Sandro Botticelli, Rembrandt van Rijn, Jan Vermeer, Claude Monet, Pablo Picasso, Ernst Ludwig Kirchner, Max Beckmann, Alberto Giacometti, Francis Bacon, Gerhard Richter, Wolfgang Tillmans and Isa Genzken form the highlights.
The Städel Museum owns 2,700 paintings (of which 600 are displayed) and a collection of 100,000 drawings and prints as well as 600 sculptures. It has around 4,000 m² of display and a library of 100,000 books and 400 periodicals. The Städel was honoured as “Museum of the Year 2012” by the German art critics association AICA in 2012. In the same year the museum recorded the highest attendance figures in its history, of 447,395 visitors.
The Städel Museum was founded in 1817, following a bequest by the Frankfurt banker and art patron de:Johann Friedrich Städel (1728-1816). He left his house, art collection and fortune with the request in his will that the institute be set up. In 1878, a new building, in the Gründerzeit style, was erected on Schaumainkai street, presently the major museum district. By the start of the 20th century, the gallery was among the most prominent German collections of classic Pan-European art; the other such collections open to the public were the Dresden Gallery, the Alte Pinakothek in Munich, and the Altes Museum in Berlin.
