Weedon Island Stand Up Paddle Board St Pete (unedited)
This a pure unedited HD version of a paddle board trip through Weedon Island Preserve in St Pete. First time on a paddle board, friend Kevin (seen in the beginning intro) was on the board with the camera. You can hear his excitement upon seeing everything from stingrays to mullet. I am seen ahead of him. It was filmed using a Swann Freestyle HD camera and edited using the YouTube Editor. 5-10-13

West Coast SUP Trip
Summer is usually not the most exciting time of year to live in St. Pete, Florida. Besides the occasional hurricane, the water is flat and the air is still. For someone like myself who has a severe addiction to wind and waves, summer can be quite depressing. Forget winter blues, I get summer insane! Most years I try to take a trip to help cheer myself up. This summer is no different. Tomorrow morning I am leaving for a west coast adventure for some surfing, kiting, stand up paddle racing, and whatever else I can get into.
My first stop will be Newport Beach to train with Jim Terrell and Larry Cain. Jim and Larry are former Olympic paddlers so I am super excited to soak up as many Jedi paddle tricks as I can. From there we are heading to Lake Tahoe for the Tahoe Nalu SUP race. After a weekend of racing in Tahoe, Jim and I are driving to Hood River, Oregon for the Gorge Paddle Championships. After the Gorge race I will stay a week longer to kiteboard and see everything that the Gorge has to offer. I am especially looking forward to the downwind SUP race where winds can be upwards of 30 mph!
On top of an awesome trip, I am excited to announce the launch of my new revamped Water Monkey website. It has been a great year and a half on my first design and I decided it was time to upgrade. Water Monkey 2.0 has a cleaner look with an easier navigation and even more room for me to post my videos and blogs. I hope you enjoy reading and watching as much as I enjoy putting everything together.
My board sponsor, Fanatic, has also launched a new site featuring the 2012 SUP line. Be sure to check the product catalogue with some great pictures from this years photo shoot.
Check out watermonkeyshop.com and fanatic-sup.com for updates from my west coast trip and all the latest news from Water Monkey.

SUP fun at the Oceanside Harbor - Stand Up Paddle Boarding May 2014
SUP fun at the Oceanside Harbor - Stand Up Paddle Boarding
Recorded on May 4th, 2014
This short video captures a moment. People are having fun on their SUPs at the Oceanside Harbor in California. It was a sunny day with a bit of wind.
Notice how SUPs have life-vests on the nose of the board. This is a law that requires SUPs, in the harbor, to carry a life vest. Safety Rules.
There are about 5 SUPs, couple kayaks, and a small motorboat in this scene.

SUP Stand Up Paddle Boarding in Madeira Beach Florida
Took a nice little cruise through Long Bayou and Boca Ciega Bay this weekend, taking advantage of this amazing fall Florida weather. You can also see how to stand up on a paddle board - keep the board steady by coming up on your hands and knees at the same time, then coming up to your feet. That's it! Then you're up!

SUP & Kayaking @ Fred Howard Beach - Tarpon Springs- Florida
Fred Howard Park. Little Known Facts: The mile-long causeway is a favorite of filmmakers. Most recently the causeway was featured in the John Cusack feature Grace is Gone and in a national television commercial for Cadillac.Wind surfing is cool and sunsets are spectacular at this park spreading along a white, sandy beach that is perfect for sunbathing.
Stand Up Paddle Boarding with my dog at Fort Desoto Florida
Paddleboarding with my dog and manatees in Fort Desoto Florida. Just another day living the Florida life!
I took my lab out stand up paddleboarding at her favorite spot, Fort Desoto, Mullet key to be exact. My dog loves going on the stand-up paddleboard at Mullet Key inside FortDesoto beach Florida.
They call it Mullet Key because during a certain time of the year. The mullet will jump right into your lap.
More precisely, My dog and I like to go out during low tide. This way it is easier to see the manatees at mullet key and there are beaches that come out.
During low tide at Mullet Key, the manatees are easier to see and my dog is able to jump out onto some of the temporary beachheads on the edges of mullet key.
On the really good days if we are lucky a few manatees will make their way slowly up to the edge of the water where me and my dog are hanging out. Sometimes they will just look at us, the manatees seem to be very curious. Which unfortunately is probably a big reason for the boat propeller scars on their back.
So enjoy this video and if you own a boat. Please slow down and be mindful of manatee and dolphins.
