British Neolithic Stone Circle Marks an Ancient Lightning Strike | Ancient Architects
In today’s news, experts have revealed evidence of a massive, ancient lightning strike in the centre of a major stone circle in the Western Isles of Great Britain
The site is at the famous Callanish Standing Stones and one single large strike, or a number of small ones on the same spot, left a star-shaped magnetic anomaly in the centre of a 4-5,000-year-old ancient stone circle on the Isle of Lewis.
The discovery was made at what experts call Site XI, a hillside stone circle, about 2.8 kilometres from the famous Callanish great Circle in the island’s Loch Roag area, which sadly now consists of a single standing stone.
The star-shaped strike, which covers an area up to 20 metres in diameter, was identified after a geophysical survey and there is now a clear and obvious link between the construction of a stone circle and the forces of nature. Watch the video to learn more and please subscribe.

Most Mysterious EMERALD And Precious Stone Discoveries
From the famed and mysterious Emerald Tablets to the one of the most rare diamonds on the whole planet, here are some of the most fascinating and incredible Emerald, Gem and Diamond Discoveries Ever Made.
7. Pylos Combat Agate
In 2015, researchers in southwest Greece discovered an elaborate tomb. The 3,000 500 year old gravesite held the skeleton of a man who has since been dubbed the “Griffin Warrior” due to being buried with a plaque bearing an emblem of the mythological half lion- half eagle namesake creature. Alongside the warrior were dozens of rings and other jewelry pieces, plus a stunning bronze sword. While cleaning the recovered odds and ends, researchers discovered that a typically unexciting chunk of agate held something absolutely incredible: an intricately carved image. The piece is no more than one and a half inches in length yet somehow holds the portrait of a victorious warrior plunging his sword into a foe as another one lays by his feet. The full image can only be seen under a powerful photo-micropsy camera lense, causing researchers to question how the artist even made the tiny piece in the first place. Individual muscles can be seen in each of the figures, as can individual locks of hair! The piece is an example of the mind-bogglingly absolutely amazing craftsmanship that went into pieces of art and jewelry in ancient Greece.

6. Helenite
On May 18, 1980, an unthinkable natural disaster shook Washington state, destroying countless homes and businesses. Mount St. Helens erupted furiously, unleashing its volcanic fury on the usually peaceful surrounding towns. Ash and smoke was hurled over eighty thousand feet in the air from the peak of the ten thousand foot tall landmark from repeated blasts that have been compared in force to that produced by over one hundred nuclear bomb detonations. 1 hundred degree fahrenheit lava poured across the land, scorching the surrounding cities. Months later, during the clean up process, a sort of beauty within the beast was discovered: a clear, green gem known as Helenite in reference to its eruptive origin. As cleaners heated the volcanic rock that formed as the lava cooled, they were dazzled by the uncovered stones. Scientists tested the gems and believe that the mineral composites in the rocks around the volcano were a perfect formation that created Helenite on a fluke. Dubbed “America’s Emerald”, Helenite is surprisingly cheap, with a six carat piece costing around $150 while a comparable piece containing true emerald would set you back around $15,000.
5. Cullinan Diamond
The average center stone diamond in an engagement ring weighs in at one to two carats with the total weight of the stones in the ring being under six carats. This alone can be quite a pricey set up, so one can only imagine the shock that came when miners discovered the Cullinan Diamond, a gem that clocks in at a whopping 3,106.75 carats. Known as the world’s largest gem-quality rough-bahstone ever found, the Cullinan Diamond was discovered on January 26, 1905 by miners of the in Cullinan, South Africa, a small town named for the occupying mining company’s chairman. Despite considerable interest, the diamond sat unsold until 1907 when the Transvaal Colony purchased it and presented it to King Edward VI for his 66th birthday. King Edward had the stone cut into over one hundred and five different pieces, the two largest of which are known as Cullinan I and Cullinan II. The first, also referred to as the the Great Star of Africa, is 530.4 carats and is known as the largest clear cut diamond in history. It rests at the head of the Sovereign’s Sceptre with Cross. Cullinan II, also known as the Second Star of Africa, weighs 317.4 carats and is mounted on the Imperial State Crown. Both gems are part of the Crown Jewels of the United Kingdom. All of the other fragments have gone to private collectors save for seven major diamond cuts, several brilliants, and a selection of unpolished fragments which reside with Queen Elizabeth II, who inherited them from Queen Mary.
4. The Pink Star
3. The Cursed Bahia Emerald
2. Blue Moon of Josephine Diamond

Stone is a Civil parish and market town in Staffordshire, England, 7 miles north of Stafford and 7 miles south of Stoke-on-Trent. It was an urban district council and a rural district council before becoming part of the Borough of Stafford in 1974.
Stone lies within the territory of the Iron Age Celtic tribe 'the cornovii' (people of the horn; perhaps a horned god or topographical feature) mentioned by Ptolemy 2nd century AD in Geographia. To the northwest of Stone lies one of their hill forts which overlooks the Trent and perhaps the salt production in the region.
The early history of Stone is unclear and clouded by the 12th century medieval romance concerning the murder of the Saxon princes Wulfad and Rufin by their father Wulfhere of Mercia who reputedly had his base near Darleston (Wulfherecester). The murder of Wulfad in the 7th century and his subsequent entombment under a cairn of stones is the traditional story (described as 'historically valueless' by Thacker 1985: 6).
Stone Urban District was an urban district. It was based on the Stone civil parish which equates to the town of Stone. There were two amendments in parts of the Stone Rural parish in Stone Rural District were transferred in. The district was abolished by the Local Government Act 1972, and replaced with Stafford Borough Council and Stone Town Council. The latter publishes a history of Stone.
Stone stands in the valley of the River Trent, and was an important stopping-off point for stagecoaches on one of the roads turnpiked in the 18th century. A directory for 1851 says that Stone was a very lively town, and a great thoroughfare for coaches, carriers and travellers…. No fewer than 38 stage coaches passed through the town daily. The main coaching route was the London to Holyhead route, via Watling Street as far as Lichfield and then from Lichfield to Holyhead via the A51. To support the coaching trade Stone was a principal stopping point with many coaching inns to refresh both horses and travellers. Notable hostelries include the Crown Hotel, Crown & Anchor, Red Lion and the Black Horse Inn.
The River Trent, which runs through the town, had been used for cargo-carrying vessels since Roman times but further inland smaller boats could only be used. Seasonal fluctuations in water depth proved insurmountable, although cargo could be carried from the sea as far south as Wilden Ferry (southeast of Derby), where the River Derwent joins the Trent and increases the quantity of water, then onwards by road. Prior to tarmac roads, journeys overland by roads were slow and delicate wares were prone to breakages over the rough terrain.
Stone Parish Church, dedicated to Saint Michael the Archangel, is at the south end of the town located on what used to be Stone Priory. It was commenced in 1753, and finished in 1758. The present clock dates from 1896. Stone railway station, on the West Coast Main Line, serves the town. An hourly semi-fast direct service has been operated by London Midland trains since 2008. This runs south to London Euston via Stafford and the Trent Valley line, and north to Crewe via Stoke-on-Trent. Passenger numbers have risen 152 per cent since 2008, and at June 2012 three more services per day are being planned to cope with demand
James Brindley, the canal builder, put forward the scheme to build what he called the Grand Trunk Canal to connect the two rivers, Mersey and Trent in 1766. It was backed by Josiah Wedgwood who saw that it offered an efficient way to bring raw materials to the potteries and to transport finished wares to his customers. By 29 September 1772 (Brindley died on 27 September), 48 miles of the Grand Trunk Canal (now known as the Trent and Mersey Canal) from Wilden Ferry to Stone was navigable — the length past Burton-on-Trent being completed in 1770.
On completion of the Star Lock a grand opening was held, and during this opening a cannon was fired in celebration. However disaster struck and the cannon damaged the new lock, requiring a re-build. Stone became the headquarters of the canal company with its office at Westbridge House, sited then below Star Lock on what is now Westbridge Park. The offices were moved later to Stoke-on-Trent.

COCHNO STONE
FAIFLEY
GLASGOW
SCOTLAND
THE MYTHICAL COCHNO STONE IS SITUATED ON THE NORTH OF GLASGOW NEXT TO FAIFLY IN WEST DUMBARTONSHIRE. A LARGE ROCK OUTCROP IS SATURATED WITH ANCIENT PETROGLYPHS BY OUR NEOLITHIC ANCESTORS. THE STONE IS PRESENTLY COVERED. IN SEPTEMBER 2016 THE SURFACE WAS UNEARTHED FOR THE FIRST TIME IN FIFTY YEARS.
THE GLYPH DESIGNS ON THE COCHNO STONE ARE FOUND NOT JUST LOCALLY BUT WESTERN EUROPE. OTHER AREAS IN SCOTLAND WITH SIMILAR MOTIFS ARE DUMFRIES & GALLOWAY, PERTH & KINROSS AND KILMARTIN. THE SYMBOLS ON THE COCHNO STONE RIVAL SOME OF THE FINEST AT ACHNABRECK IN KILMARTIN GLEN.
THE SOFT SANDSTONE OUTCROP IS 15M X 8M. OUR ANCESTORS CAREFULLY CREATED SEEMINGLY ABSTRACT AND RANDOM CUP AND RING DESIGNS. THE ROCK SHEET HAS A FEW UNIQUE CARVINGS LIKE, TWO FEET OF FOUR TOES, FACES AND A MODERN ATTEMPT AT CARVING A CUP AND RING DESIGN.
THE ANCIENT PEOPLE OF NORTHERN BRITAIN WERE BUSY CREATING PETROGLYPHS WHICH WE CAN STILL ENJOY VISITING TODAY. THE MEANING OF THESE GLYPHS IS TOTALY LOST TO US. THEORIES ARE TEN A PENNY REGARDING THE PURPOSE. ONE THEORY IS STAR MAPS.
THE COCHNO STONE WAS REDISCOVERED BY THE REVEREND JAMES HARVEY IN 1887. ROBERT MUNRO AND DAVID HARVIE, BOTH MINISTERS, WERE THE FIRST PEOPLE TO RECORD THE STONE IN THE 1880’S.
IN 1937, LUDOVIC MANN, AN AMATEUR, GLASWEGIAN, ARCHAEOLOGIST, PAINTED THE GLYPHS TO HIGHLIGHT THEM AND ADDED LINES. HE WAS POSSIBLY TRYING TO PROVE THEORIES ON NEOLITHIC RELIGION AND MATHEMATICS.
FROM THE 1940’S - 60’S, PEOPLE WERE CARVING THERE NAME ONTO THE SOFT ROCK. OVER ONE HUNDRED NAMES AND DATED HAVE BEEN FOUND FROM THE MODERN ERA.
DURING 1965, THE STONE WAS COVERED IN HALF A METER OF EARTH AND FORGOTTEN. THE LOCAL PEOPLE REMEMBERED THE OUTCROP, THEY KNEW AS ‘THE DRUIDS STONE’. THE COCHNO STONE THEN BECAME A MYTHICAL ENIGMA OF SCOTTISH ARCHAEOLOGY.
IN 2015, DR KENNETH BROPHY OF GLASGOW UNIVERSITY, WAS APPROACHED BY A SPANISH DIGITAL HERITAGE COMPANY, TO DIGITALLY AND PHOTOMETRICALLY RECORD THE STONE. IN SEPTEMBER 2015, A TRIAL EXCAVATION TOOK PLACE TO CONFIRM THE CONDITION AND LOCATION OF THE COCHNO STONE.
FROM THE 5 - 25/9/16 THE COCHNO STONE WAS UNCOVERED FOR THE FIRST TIME IN FIFTY YEARS. DURING THIS THREE WEEK PERIOD EXCAVATIONS TOOK PLACE. A MINI DIGGER CLEARED AWAY THE SOIL.
A FEW MODERN FINDS WERE MARBLES AND A RED CROSS BADGE. THE MODERN WALL AROUND THE STONE HAD FALLEN ONTO THE OUTCROP. THE SURFACE WAS CLEANED USING TOOLS MADE OF PLASTIC. THE LOCAL FIRE BRIGADE CAME ALONG TO WASH OFF THE REMAINING MUCK.
THE OUTCROP WAS LASER SCANNED BY SCOTTISH TEN. LUDOVIC MANN’S PAINT LINES COULD STILL BE SEEN IN SEPTEMBER 2016. SAMPLES OF THE PAINT WERE TAKEN AND FIVE COLOURS WERE FOUND, GREEN, BLACK, BLUE, RED, YELLOW AND WHITE.
LOTS OF PEOPLE WERE COMING AND GOING TO VIEW THE ENIGMATIC PETROGLYPHS FOR THE FIRST TIME IN FIFTY YEARS. THERE WAS ALSO A LOT OF MEDIA INTEREST. ON MY VISIT I SPOKE TO A LOCAL MAN WHO SAID HE REMEMBERED PLAYING MARBLES ON THE STONE AS A CHILD.
WHAT MAY BECOME OF THE COCHNO STONE IS UNKNOWN. HOPEFULLY A SCALE REPLICA MAY BE MADE AND PUT ON DISPLAY IN A GLASGOW MUSEUM. PERHAPS IT MAY BE UNCOVERED AND MADE ACCESSIBLE LIKE ACHNABRECK IN KILMARTIN GLEN, WITH SINAGE, A WALKWAY AND PROTECTED BY A FENCE.
HOPEFULLY OUR ANCESTORS WHO CREATED THE DESIGNS WOULD BE THRILLED THAT THOUSANDS OF YEARS LATER THEY STILL EXSIST AND ARE BEING VISITED BY MODERN PEOPLE WHO ARE BAMBOOZLED AT THE MEANING OF THESE SYMBOLS WHICH WERE OBVIOUSLY EXTREMELY IMPORTANT TO THEM.
A BIG THANK YOU TO OUR ANCIENT ANCESTORS.

The award-winning international phenomenon THE X FACTOR is back. In Season Three of the hit competition series hosted by Mario Lopez, THE X FACTOR judges will travel the nation searching for talent 12 years old or over -- both solo artists and vocal groups -- who are willing to brave the panel for a chance to make their dreams of becoming a superstar come true. Auditions for THE X FACTOR were held this spring in Los Angeles, CA; Charleston, SC; New Orleans, LA; Long Island, NY; and Denver, CO.
Contestants will audition in front of THE X FACTOR judges, including Simon Cowell, Demi Lovato, Kelly Rowland, Paulina Rubio, and an audience of thousands. This will be the ultimate test to prove they have the vocal ability, charisma and stage presence it takes to become a global superstar or breakout music act and win a recording contract with Syco/Sony Music.
Those contestants who survive the first auditions will be divided into four categories: Boys, Girls, Over 25s and Groups. Each category will be mentored by one of the show's judges. Not only is it a competition between the hopefuls to stake their claim for the coveted win, but it's also a showdown among the judges as to whose acts will dominate the competition and make it to the finals. The judges may have their say in how the competition progresses, but it will be up to America to decide who ultimately has THE X FACTOR.
