During the mid 19th century, thousands of mills across Starr's Mill Entrance - Starrs Mill, Georgia eastern United States took advantage of an endless supply of water power. And Georgia was no exception, with hundreds of grist, cotton, lumber and textile mills spread across the state.
Here in today's Fayette County, Hananiah Gilcoat (Jill-cote) built the first grist mill along Whitewater Creek in 1825. The Gilcoat land bordered on a new frontier in America, less than a mile from Creek Indian territory. The mill property continued to change owners over a short period of time until Hilliard Starr took over the property in 1866. Working the mill for 13 years, the Starr name has endured at both the mill and the community. Today the mill is recognized as a significant Atlanta Metro Area historic site.

Starr's Mill Park Fayette County, Geogia Grist Mills of Georgia!
Starr's Mill Park is a must see if your traveling through Fayette County, Ga, just north of Senoia, Georgia. The property that became Starr’s Mill was owned by Hananiah Gilcoat who built the first mill here before his death in 1825. This site, on Whitewater Creek, was less than a mile from the boundary between Creek Indian lands and the State of Georgia. Hilliard Starr, who owned the mill from 1866 until 1879, gave the site its current name. After the first two log structures burned, William T. Glower built the current building in 1907. This mill operated until 1959, using a water-powered turbine, instead of a wheel, to grind corn and operate a sawmill. The Starr’s Mill site also included a cotton gin and a dynamo that produced electricity for nearby Senoia. For any pricing on promo vidoes please message us

Shoulder-Bone Gristmill Outside of Sparta, GA - The Better Clips
These are two of the better clips I got from the shoot at Shoulder-Bone Gristmill outside of Sparta, GA. A very gracious, Thank you, for the individual I pestered; he allowed me to interrupt his day and to have free run of the location to take several shots until my battery told me it was time to pack it in...

Long Creek, Oglethorpe Co. GA
Long Creek is loved by the young and old. Should I mention this creek to a local old timer, they have fond memories and, stories as a child of fishing or swimming in this creek. I was lucky enough to spend some time there. Hope you enjoy.
