STARR HILL BREWERY IS EXPANDING TO LYNCHBURG--- SET TO OPEN IN EARLY 2020, STARR HILL ON MAIN.
{phoner, Josh Cromwell / Finance Manager for Starr Hill Brewery}
It's something that I think Lynchburg has been wanting and we've spoken to people in Lynchburg and they've been really excited about the opportunity.
JOSH CROMWELL IS THE FINANCE MANAGER.
HE SAYS THE 20-YEAR-OLD CRAFT BREWING COMPANY WILL MOVE INTO THE BUILDING THAT ONCE HOUSED GRASSROOTS LOCAL MARKET ON 13TH AND MAIN STREET.
DESPITE THE 2-YEAR-LONG CONSTRUCTION ON MAIN STREET, ASHLEY KERSHNER WITH DOWNTOWN LYNCHBURG ASSOCIATION SAYS, BUSINESSES WILL CONTINUE TO POP UP.
{Ashley Kershner / Downtown Lynchburg Association}
They actually see the construction as a positive because on the other side of this we're going to have strong utilities which is important. But also we're going to have really beautiful streets and sidewalks.
STARR HILL AND CITY LEADERS HAVE BEEN WORKING TOGETHER FOR A WHILE TO GET THIS PROJECT GOING.
LEADERS SAY... ITS ALL A PART OF REVITALIZING DOWNTOWN AS THIRD STREET BREWING FROM FARMVILLE IS EXPECTED TO OPEN IN DOWNTOWN NEXT YEAR TOO.
{Kershner}
We want to have a cluster of breweries so people can do a brewery tour.
STARR HILL ON MAIN WILL INCLUDE A LOUNGE AREA, BAR AND OUTSIDE SEATING, A TAP ROOM AND THEY'LL BREW ON-SITE WITH A 5-BARREL BREWING SYSTEM.
{phoner Cromwell}
That's going to be some real volume. We're going to be brewing beers for Lynchburg specifically that will stay at our tap room in Lynchburg, which is really exciting.
A LOT MORE CRAFT BEER SHOPS ARE POPPING UP IN VIRGINIA, WHILE OTHERS OTHERS ARE SHUTTING DOWN.
IT'S A CHANGE STARR HILL SAYS IT'S AWARE OF, BUT STAYING IN BUSINESS MEANS YOU'VE GOT TO EXPAND TO CONNECT WITH MORE VIRGINIANS.
{Cromwell phoner}
We want to make sure that we're taking advantage of the opportunity to touch more people in Virginia and our home state, and get them aware of who we are.
IN LYNCHBURG, MAGDALA LOUISSAINT 10 NEWS WORKING FOR YOU.

What we reviewed:
Longboard Island Lager by Kona Brewing Co.:
Longboard Island Lager is a crisp, pale-gold lager made with choice malts and aromatic hops, brewed in a traditional lager style. It’s a smooth and easygoing beer that never goes out of style—ever.
Uncle Rick's Pilsner by Wicked Weed Brewing:
Pilsner is perfection, and perfection takes patience. After a lengthy and methodical fermentation, Uncle Rick’s emerges. We take the purest Blue Ridge Mountain water and combine it with German yeast, Noble hops, and traditional pilsner malts to brew our perfect Pilsner. For our friends and family, for sunny days and long nights, for celebrating, for relaxing, for Uncle Rick: we craft this beer for both the beer connoisseur and the connoisseur of life.
Islander Ginger Beer:
For the first time in over a hundred years, the true taste of this alcoholic beverage fermented only with sugar cane, fresh citrus and Caribbean spices can be found in Islander Ginger Beer. It is made by the direct descendent of Thomas Harriott, who first brought ginger to England over 400 years ago, as well as the subsequent generations of Harriotts who settled throughout the New World and made alcoholic ginger beer over the centuries.
Lemon Pucker by New Realm Brewing Co.:
A Berliner Weisse with fresh, citrusy tartness worthy of its own lemonade stand.
No. 4 Double IPA by Brewer's Storehouse:
Contract brewed to Lidl by Starr Hill (some bottles say Central Virginia Brewing Co., Crozet, VA). Big flavor of well balanced hops and malt with citrus and pine notes.

SUMMARY
=======
Charlottesville, colloquially known as C'ville and officially named the City of Charlottesville, is an independent city in the Commonwealth of Virginia. In 2016, an estimated 46,912 people lived within the city limits. It is the county seat of Albemarle County, which surrounds the city, though the two are separate legal entities. This means a resident will list Charlottesville as both their county and city on official paperwork. It is named after the British Queen Charlotte of Mecklenburg-Strelitz. The Bureau of Economic Analysis combines the City of Charlottesville with the County of Albemarle for statistical purposes, bringing its population to approximately 150,000. Charlottesville is the heart of the Charlottesville metropolitan area, which includes Albemarle, Buckingham, Fluvanna, Greene, and Nelson counties.
Charlottesville was the home of two Presidents, Thomas Jefferson and James Monroe. During their terms as Governor of Virginia, they lived in Charlottesville, and traveled to and from Richmond, along the 71-mile (114 km) historic Three Notch'd Road. Orange, located 26 miles (42 km) northeast of the city, was the hometown of President James Madison. The University of Virginia, founded by Jefferson and one of the original Public Ivies, straddles the city's southwestern border. Monticello, 3 miles (4.8 km) southeast of the city, is, along with the University of Virginia, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, attracting thousands of tourists every year.
