Miskolctapolca Cave Baths and the Lillafüred Forest Train | Miskolc, Hungary
We already loved baths, but this one was our favourite because it was built inside a cave system! There were baths of varying temperatures, spa treatments, and a floating sensory deprivation chamber. Definitely the best bath experience we've had to date, with all the cool nooks and crannies of the caves to explore and bathe in. We then travelled a little bit further to Lillafüred using a scenic train that traversed the Hungarian countryside, seeing little villages in valleys and lush forests along the way. Lillafüred itself is remote, peaceful, and relaxing-- it's already on our list for a recharging weekend getaway!

FOREST TRAINS & CASTLES in MISKOLC, HUNGARY
Another wonderful day in Miskolc! We rode a scenic forest train through the Bükk mountains to Lillafüred and enjoyed beautiful views by the lake. Then we went to check out the medieval Castle of Diósgyőr. It was a really beautiful day exploring the outdoors in Miskolc!
We were able to see and do so much all thanks to our Miskolc pass and would definitely recommend it when you're visiting the city:

這趟可愛的小火車之旅就在匈牙利東北部的米什科爾茨的利拉菲賴德（Lillafüred），也是該國的第三大城。
There is a narrow-gauge railway that connects Lillafüred to Miskolc known as the Lillafüredi Állami Erdei Vasút (Lillafüred Forest State Railway). It winds through scenic forests, and takes between a half hour and 45 minutes for the train to go between the two major stops. The Miskolc stop is located in Diósgyőr.

It was a part of our trip in Hungary. Lillafured, an administrative district of Miskolc, and one of the tourist resorts of Hungary with the most beautiful natural environment.
Lies on the eastern edge of the Bukk Mountains, at 350m above the sea level, in the valley of stream Szinva, by Lake Hamori surrounded by steep hillsides.
We had a great time there with family and would definitely go back again.

Különvonat Mahócára
A LÁEV mahócai szárnyvonalának vágállomásán utoljára 2008-ban járt különvonat.A személyszállítást már előtte megszüntették.Azóta a vonalra általában évente egy különvonat ment fel,azok is csak ortástetőig.Közben a nyílt pályát megrongálták,a mahócai állomás vágányhálózata is eltűnt és benőtte a növényzet.Az utóbbi időkben az állomást rendbe hozták,felújították a pályát és 2014 október 25-én a különvonat tovább indult ortástetőről mahóca felé.

The main line between Miskolc and Garadna was built in 1920. The branch line between the paper factory and Mahóca was built in 1920-22 for transporting wood. It has been carrying passengers since 3 May 1924. Nowadays the train is merely a tourist attraction.
