Uncovering The Once Discovered - A Video for the State Library of Queensland
A Video for the State Library of Queensland is a video artwork made for the State Library of Queensland's New Media Residency in 2007. The residency program, titled Uncovering The Once Discovered, culminated in an exhibition of this video in Infozone, level 1, State Library of Queensland, 16 July -- 09 October, and a downloadable Mp3 audio tour.
This exhibition is one of a series of new media programs held in the State Library of Queensland. Artists were invited to explore the State Library and investigate new ways of interpreting and responding to the collection. This unconventional collaboration between the State Library and contemporary artists reflects a new direction for the State Library.
Libraries are a social experience, as well as an artistic nucleus for communities to gather and discuss communal issues. The residency was presented by the State Library of Queensland in collaboration with former Artworkers Alliance.

The Corner - State Library's well-loved space for families and children. There are programmed activities from Monday to Friday for under 8s and their parents and carers. Enter through the Infozone.
Babies and young children learn most from the important people around them and The Corner has been designed to support simple fun activities that families can continue to play together every day as talking, sharing stories, singing and playing all count towards helping them get what they need, when they need it.

North on Brisbane St. to Coronation Drive, join with the Bicentennial Bike-Way in front of the Regatta Hotel on the Brisbane River. Cross the river on the Go-Between Bridge and follow the river north through the South Brisbane Riverside Lands. The trail ends next to the GoMA, which is adjacent to the State Library. 2016 Fun Palaces - State Library of Queensland
This morning before work, a few of us at the State Library here in Brisbane put together a quick video, telling you all about Fun Palaces 2016 and how you can get involved.
Fun Palaces are your chance to celebrate arts and sciences with your friends, neighbours, family, workmates, and all the people around you - they're community-led and they take place on the first weekend in October each year.
Fun Palaces can be high-tech or low-tech, big-scale or small, all-weekend affairs or little adventures that just take an hour - we shot this video in 30 minutes before work!
We welcome the whole community to share their skills and join the adventure.
