Staunton Harold Reservoir is nestled in the national forest, between Derby and Burton upon Trent, just outside Melbourne, Derbyshire. England
This walk can be as long or short as you like, With great accessibility and tarmacked paths, it is suitable for all abilities, chair types, and scooters. There is hardly any gradient here which is great for solo manual chair users.
The site is managed by Seven Trent Water and offers visitors: information, activities, toilet facilities and cafe. There is no changing room on-site, but there is an accessible toilet. (Facilities are only open during opening hours.)
The Adventure playground offers excitement for the children, and picknick areas for parents to look on. There are areas where you can get close to the water, and when water levels are low, a small beach area. (Not wheelchair accessible but you can get close)
Footfall is light in colder months but can get busy during the summer. If you feel up to extending your walk there are routes to access Calk Abbey from this path, however, this could be challenging to access in a wheelchair!
We love coming here and watching the sailboats on the reservoir and the array of birds that can be found here, as we take in the beauty of the area. There are benches at intervals along the path to sit and ponder or catch your breath.
We hope you liked the new layout of this video, (thank you John) and we hope to see you again on our next adventure!

Derby is a city and unitary authority area in Derbyshire, England. Derby lies on the banks of the River Derwent in the south of Derbyshire, of which it was traditionally the county town.
Derby was settled by Romans – who established the town of Derventio – Saxons and Vikings, who made Derby one of the Five Boroughs of the Danelaw. Initially a market town, Derby grew rapidly in the industrial era. Home to Lombe's Mill, an early British factory, Derby has a claim to be one of the birthplaces of the Industrial Revolution. It contains the southern part of the Derwent Valley Mills World Heritage Site. With the arrival of the railways in the 19th century, Derby became a centre of the British rail industry.
Derby is a centre for advanced transport manufacturing, home to the world’s second largest aero-engine manufacturer, Rolls-Royce, and Derby Litchurch Lane Works, for many years the UK's only train manufacturer. Toyota Manufacturing UK's automobile headquarters is south west of the city at Burnaston.

Andy's Driving videos around Derby, Derbyshire, UK :
Are you an ex-pat of Derby, feeling homesick? Or perhaps you just want a clear way of giving someone directions to a location in Derby or just want to show people your Derby Street. Well in this video and the many others I have made, you will be able to take a virtual drive around the city of Derby's streets as though you were in the driving seat. I use a dash-mounted camera, Traffic lights and heavy traffic have been edited out.
Best watched at 720p fullscreen (if your system/net connection is up to it).
Why not start with the original video and watch them all one by one...
