10 Best Places to Visit in Poland.

“Poland is in You” for young Poles being brought up abroad
The meeting at the MFA was part of the “Poland is in You” project. It invited around 250 young people of Polish descent from Kazakhstan, Russia, Latvia, Belarus, the US, Brazil, Argentina and Western European countries. In July and August, young people aged 12 to 20 will visit Warsaw, Gdansk, Wroclaw, Wadowice, Zakopane and Krakow and meet with the representatives of state authorities and war veterans. During their stay in Poland, the participants will practice their Polish language skills, see the landmarks of Polish history and culture, and take part in various workshops and trainings.
The Department for Cooperation with Polish Diaspora and Poles Abroad of Ministry of Foreign Affairs is the strategic partner of the programme. The “Poland is in You” programme, under the Honorary Patronage of the President of Poland Andrzej Duda, was inaugurated on 15 July 2019 in the Presidential Palace.

City Park Piła Poland
Pila is a town of 80 thousand in Greater Poland that is beautifully set near the River Gwda, far from big cities and highly developed industry. It is no surprise that tourism flourishes here, thanks to the untainted natural environment, glacial lakes, and pinewoods that cover about 25% of the region.
Pila TOURISM Pilas role is to be the main trade and business centre of the northern Greater Poland, and local industry includes electronics and precision engineering, agriculture and food processing, tourism, and business services. There are plenty of green areas within the Pila region. Probably the most interesting are the Kuznik and the Park on the Island reserves; the latter being situated between two branches of the Gwda River. There are several lakes, with the most popular being the Plotki, providing good conditions to relax in. The town is surrounded by woods and there are several rivers nearby, all good for that favourite of Polish pastimes - river canoeing. Among the main historic sights in Pila is the modernist church of St Anthony of Padua; which has a great figure of Jesus Christ on the Cross, one of the largest of its type in Europe and it towers above a huge altar. Another place worth visiting is the Stanislaw Staszic Museum, which possesses an exhibition of memorabilia connected with this great 19th century philanthropist (and the towns most famous citizen). Another interesting place on the outskirts of Pila is Osieka, the open-air living museum of Polish rural life with its rich collection of cottage utensils, agricultural tools, religious items and other relics of community ceremonies.

What to do and see in Krakow
Kraków is the second largest and one of the oldest cities in Poland. Situated on the Vistula River in the Lesser Poland region, the city dates back to the 7th century. Kraków has traditionally been one of the leading centres of Polish academic, cultural, and artistic life and is one of Poland’s most important economic hubs. Indeed it was the capital of Poland from 1038 to 1569.
Kraków began as a hamlet on Wawel Hill and was already being reported as a busy trading centre of Slavonic Europe in 965. With the establishment of new universities and cultural venues at the emergence of the Second Polish Republic in 1918 and throughout the 20th century, Kraków reaffirmed its role as a major international academic and artistic centre. Today the city has a population of approximately 760,000 and about 8 million people live within a 100 km radius of its famous main Market Square.
In 1978, Karol Wojtyla, archbishop of Kraków, was elevated to the papacy as Pope John Paul II – the first Slavic pope ever, and the first non-Italian pope in 455 years. Also that year, UNESCO approved the first ever sites for its new World Heritage List, including the entire Old Town in inscribing Cracow’s Historic Centre.
Kraków is a beautiful and historic City to visit and is a leading European City Break location. Use this site to find a hotel in Kraków. We hope the information on our website can assist you in your stay!

Summer Wildlife in Poland
The wildlife of the Magura National Park in south-east Poland, where I take people to set camera traps for wolf, lynx and wild boar and to photograph insects, birds and other wildlife.
The weird sound in the background is a corncrake, a very rare bird in the UK but we sometimes have them within 1/4 mile of where we stay!
