Portland's Steel Bridge and Willamette River
Just a pan-around of the Willamette River on the South side of the Steel bridge.
Portland's Steel Bridge is special in that it is a double-deck vertical-lift bridge. The bottom deck carries a passenger walkway and two railroad tracks, mainly used by Amtrak. The top deck carries the roadway for Glisan Street in the Downtown core, and Oregon street on the east shore. In addition to TriMet MAX's Red, Blue, Yellow and Green line.
It is the only double-deck bridge with independent lifts in the world and the second oldest vertical-lift bridge in North America, after the nearby Hawthorne Bridge. The bridge links the Rose Quarter and Lloyd District in the east to Old Town Chinatown neighborhood in the west.

Bridge of God, Oregon, United States
The Bridge of the Gods is a steel truss cantilever bridge that spans the Columbia River between Cascade Locks, Oregon, and Washington state near North Bonneville. It is approximately 40 miles (64 kilometers) east of Portland, Oregon, and 4 miles (6.4 km) upriver from the Bonneville Dam. It is a toll bridge operated by the Port of Cascade Locks.
The bridge was completed by Wauna Toll Bridge Company and opened in 1926 at a length of 1,127 feet (343 m). The higher river levels resulting from the construction of the Bonneville Dam required the bridge to be further elevated in 1940 and extended to its current length of 1,856 feet (565 m). The Columbia River Bridge Company of Spokane, Washington, acquired ownership of the bridge in 1953 for $735,000.The Port of Cascade Locks Commission now operates the bridge.
The bridge is named after the historic geologic feature also known as Bridge of the Gods.
The Pacific Crest Trail crosses the Columbia River on the Bridge of the Gods, and the lowest elevation of the trail is on this bridge.

Roadside Car Trouble DIY Broken Down in Portland Oregon Bridges & Columbia River Scenic Views Headed North on the I5 up to Seattle Washington to meet with testdrivejunkie. Very lucky the he agreed to meet up. Coming through Portland Oregon and thought I would get a quick video because who knows when I'll ever be back through here. I can't stand the slow speed limits in Oregon. 50mph on the Interstate is just ridiculous. They do have some cool buildings and architectural designs the really give the town a unique look. They have a couple really cool bridges the cross the Columbia River as well.

From Wikipedia:
Portland is a city located in the U.S. state of Oregon, near the confluence of the Willamette and Columbia rivers. As of the 2010 Census, it had a population of 583,776,[7] estimated to have reached 587,865 in 2012 [7][8] making it the 29th most populous city in the United States. Portland is Oregon's most populous city, and the third most populous city in the Pacific Northwest region, after Seattle, Washington and Vancouver, British Columbia. Approximately 2,260,000 people live in the Portland metropolitan area (MSA),[9] the 23rd most populous MSA in the United States.[9]
Portland was incorporated in 1851 near the end of the Oregon Trail and is the county seat of Multnomah County. [10] The city has a commission-based government headed by a mayor and four other commissioners as well as Metro, a distinctive regional government. The city is noted for its superior land-use planning and investment in light rail.[11] Because of its public transportation networks and efficient land-use planning, Portland has been referred to as one of the most environmentally friendly, or green, cities in the world.[12]
Located in the Marine west coast climate region, Portland has a climate marked by both warm, dry summers and wet, cool-to-chilly winter days. This climate is ideal for growing roses. For more than a century, Portland has been known as the City of Roses,[13][14] with many rose gardens -- most prominently the International Rose Test Garden. The city is also known for its abundant outdoor activities, liberal political values, and beer and coffee enthusiasm. Portland is home to a collection of independent microbreweries, microdistilleries and food carts that contribute to the unofficial but widely utilized[citation needed] slogan Keep Portland Weird.

High Steel Bridge
The High Steel Bridge. South Fork if the Skokomish River.
Just as I had gotten there to take in the setting and for some quiet time and to shoot, two Mason County Sheriffs blast in and onto the bridge responding to a call that there might be a possible jumper. Thankfully that was not the case. After searching the vicinity for a while, it turned out that the guy was wanted and was hiding under the bridge in the forest. My timing is either good or bad, as I happened to have my quad with me to search the area just in case.
High Steel Bridge is a truss arch bridge that spans the south fork of the Skokomish River on Forest Service road #2202 near the city of Shelton, Washington in Mason County, Washington. The High Steel Bridge was the second of two large steel arches to be erected by the Simpson Logging Company on Forest Service land in 1929. These bridges carried a single railroad track across formidable chasms opening up expansive tracts of previously inaccessible timber on the Olympic Peninsula.
The High Steel Bridge's 685 ft (209 m) steel riveted webbed arch rises 375 ft (114 m) above the Skokomish River's South Fork, placing it among the top twenty highest bridges in the United States. The building materials—which included a considerable amount of concrete for the footings, lumber for the decking, concrete forms, and railings, and 750 tons of steel—were hauled by rail across the recently completed Vance Creek Bridge.
The American Bridge Company, a subsidiary of the U.S. Steel Products Company at the time of construction, was the contractor for the $131,000 structure. The Simpson Logging Company spent an additional $100,000 in lumber in the construction of the bridge. The total cost of the bridge was paid from the proceeds of timber subsequently hauled across it.
Grand Opening of the Trimet Orange Line and Tilikum Bridge Portland Oregon
Photos/Video by Guy Bodin Portland Oregon
Tilikum Crossing, Bridge of the People is a cable-stayed bridge across the Willamette River in Portland, Oregon, United States. TriMet, the Portland metropolitan area's regional transit authority, built the bridge for its MAX Orange Line light rail trains, as well as the Portland Streetcar, buses, bicycles, pedestrians, and emergency vehicles. Private cars and trucks will not be permitted on the bridge. The crossing opened for general use on September 12, 2015, becoming the first new bridge built across the river in the Portland metropolitan area since 1973. The first public access to the bridge was given on August 9, 2015, in the morning for the 20th annual Providence Bridge Pedal.
TriMet selected the name of the bridge in April 2014 from a list of four finalists chosen by the public. Tilikum is a Chinook Jargon word meaning people, tribe, or family, and the name is intended to honor the Multnomah, Cascade, Clackamas, and other Chinookan peoples who lived in the area as long as 14,000 years ago. The Tilikum name also references the pervasive use of Chinook Jargon in Portland’s first half century in the frequent trade interactions between pioneers and Native Americans.

UP Train Get's Onto Portland, Oregon's Steel Bridge From the Portland Sub 03/16/2018
Spotted the end of this Union Pacific Train from TriMet's 35 bus as it was heading south out of the Albina Yard in the Eliot Neighborhood of Portland, Oregon. So, I got off at the Rose Quarter Area where the Moda Center Arena and the Veterans Memorial Coliseum is located. I got to record this train as it got onto Multnomah County's Steel Bridge from the Portland Subdivision as it crossed the Willamette River on it's way to some Portland Terminal Railroad Company Trackage.
