Iceland - What a GORGEOUS country!
For a detailed list of places shown in this video, see below.
Finally! This is a video that I wanted to edit for such a long time, and I'm so excited for you to see it. In November 2015, my friend Andy and I visited our friend Matze in Iceland (he was on a student exchange there). At first, we were only joking when we said we wanted to visit him, but then we got excited and actually did it! For me personally, it was the very first time that I left the European continent, and the only time I've flown somewhere before that was a short flight to Italy. So naturally, it was something very special, and I have to say: Iceland is a gorgeous country! Because of a tight budget, we only had a car for three days, but we definitely made the most of it during these days. Another challenge was the limited amount of sunlight, we only had about six to seven hours of sunlight a day. This led to a pretty funny story: On the first night on the road, we underestimated how quickly it was going to be dark out. We wanted to see another famous waterfall called Svartifoss, but when we reached the parking lot around 7 pm, it was already PITCH BLACK. The was literally no light source anywhere, so even after our eyes adjusted, there was still nothing to see. It was really hard to find the way to the waterfall, we had to use our phones as lights. When we finally reached it, we were able to hear the waterfall, but could not see it even with three phone flashes pointing at it. But Andy had his fancy DSLR with him, and with some long exposure magic while still pointing the phone lights at it, he was able to take an amazing photo of Svartifoss! You can see it here:
Also check out Andy's Instagram, I think he's an awesome photographer:
Thank you for watching this video, I hope you enjoyed it! If you did, I would be really grateful if you shared it with some of your friends. Maybe they are interested in visiting Iceland as well and can use this video as an inspiration. :)

Every single shot in this video was filmed on an iPhone 6s. Except for the slow motion shot of the Geysir (1080p, 120 fps), everything was shot in 4K 30 fps which allowed me to move and crop the clips when editing in 1080p. I also did not use any type of color correction, so what you see came straight out of the stock camera app. While I mostly use my point-and-shoot camera nowadays, I think this video shows how good today's smartphone cameras are and what amazing results they can produce.
