Welcome to Stellenbosch
Standing side by side with the town’s sturdy old oak trees for a hundred years, the University of Stellenbosch (Stellenbosch University today) has grown into a leading research-intensive university on the African continent. Starting out with four faculties: Arts, Science, Education and Agriculture (currently Arts and Social Sciences, Science, Education and AgriSciences), 503 students and 40 lecturing staff on 2 April 1918, SU today is home to 10 faculties, a vibrant and cosmopolitan community of more than 30 000 students and 3 000 staff members, spread over five campuses.

Stellenbosch University – A unique conference destination
Along the Western Cape wine route of South Africa lies Stellenbosch, a town of oaks and architectural treasures, surrounded by magnificent mountain ranges. In the heart of this town lies Stellenbosch University, and jointly they have become a popular conference destination, offering an impressive variety of conference venues and accommodation. Stellenbosch University is situated only 30 minutes from Cape Town International Airport, and 50 minutes from Cape Town.

Cape Town Vlogger: Join me as I do a tour on Stellenbsoch Town , known as the City of Oaks'. Stellenbosch is an awesome tourist destination, surrounded by the vineyards of the Cape Winelands and the mountainous nature reserves of Jonkershoek and Simonsberg. Stroll down the town's oak-shaded streets (Church street) that are lined with cafes, boutiques and art galleries. Rich in Dutch colonial history, there are many Cape Dutch style architecture to enjoy, such as the Village Museum's period houses and gardens tour. Take a walk through the Stellenbosch University botanical gardens and try some delicious coffee from the many little coffee shops around. There is a town tour on foot as well as a friendly Madiba township tour. Spend an entire day exploring Stellenbosch town.

STUDY ABROAD: Stellenbosch, South Africa
I studied abroad through Stellebosch University Public Health program during their winter season. I definitely wished I captured more footage, because this video does not do justice for all the memories that were experienced here. Although the adventurous moments and scenic views were captured, the most memorable memories for me were the moments that happened behind the scenes. These were the people I met, the conversations I had, going outside my box, and the lessons I've learned. I've made friendships I know will last a lifetime, and memories and feelings that impacted me as a growing individual.
