Agra City Guide | Taj Mahal Travel Video in Uttar Pradesh, India Video Transcript:
Well good morning good morning. Today we are in Agra (आगरा). How excited are you? Super excited. I mean 'hey guess what' there is a little kind of tiny attraction here we might be visiting. Maybe the Taj Mahal (ताजमहल). The Taj Mahal (ताजमहल) is actually closed on Fridays and we didn't realize that until we got here. So we can't visit today but instead we're going to visit Agra Fort (आगरा का किला). Yeah. And maybe the Baby Taj Mahal. Yeah, and the good news is that I've actually been to Agra (آگرہ) before and I've been to Agra Fort (आगरा का किला) and it is one of the most impressive I've ever visited in India. If this fort was outside of Agra (आगरा) it would be a standalone attraction in another city. So we're going to go check that out today and maybe check out the Taj from across the river. And then we have to buy tickets for the Taj. Right so busy day actually. Let's begin.
Agra Fort (आगरा का किला) is a UNESCO World Heritage Site that draws big numbers, especially on a Friday when the Taj is closed. Admission to Agra Fort (आगरा का किला) is through the Amar Singh Gate, which is the south gate. Outside the gates you’ll find guides offering their services, so that’s something you can keep in mind if you’re looking to learn about the fort’s history and architecture.
So we've been getting all of these like teaser views of the Taj. Last night we had it during dinner and today we have this. And I think we're going to get one more vantage point later on in the day. And then finally tomorrow we actually visit it.
Once you walk through a series of gates, you’ll find yourself in a giant complex of marble palaces, inner courtyards and gardens, complete with wild monkeys running along the fort’s walls.
You also get some pretty cool views of the Taj Mahal (ताजमहल) off in the distance - but we’ll show you an even better lookout point later in this video.
The Taj Mahal (ताजमहल) was built by Shah Jahan as a memorial for his third wife, Mumtaz Mahal, who died giving birth to their 14th child in 1631. He wrote that the beauty of the structure made “the sun and the moon shed tears from their eyes”, and while I may not have shed a tear, it’s a sight that did not disappoint.
So we made it to the Baby Taj Mahal (Tomb of I'timād-ud-Daulah - اعتماد الدولہ کا مقبر).
So our last stop of the day is the Mehtab Gardens (मेहताब बाग़ - مہتاب باغ,) which are directly behind the Taj Mahal (ताजमहल) so you get some pretty cool views.
so that is a wrap from Agra (आगरा).
This is part of our Travel in India video series showcasing Indian food, Indian culture and Indian cuisine.

India Vlog: Agra Fort, Baby Taj, Taj Mahal Sunset!
February 14, 2015
instagram.com/timandglo
We were up early to catch our 6:00 am train from New Delhi Railway Station to Agra Fort Railway Station in Agra, Uttar Pradesh! Agra is home to what is arguably India's most famous cultural site: Taj Mahal! We didn't actually visit Taj Mahal on this day, opting to save it for a sunrise visit the following day. But we visited a couple other amazing places in Agra, which provided stunning view of Taj Mahal!
We booked our train tickets online before we arrived in India. You can create an account with IRCTC (Indian Railway Catering & Tourism Corporation), which runs India's train e-ticketing system at You'll need an IRCTC account to book trains on sites like ClearTrip and MakeMyTrip. Hint: You don't need an Indian telephone number to register an account. Just make one up. ;)
We sat in the AC Chair Car Cabin, which was extremely comfortable. Cozy seats and free water, newspapers, and a hot meal!
Once in Agra, we took a rickshaw to the Radisson Blu. This is a beautiful hotel close to the east gate of Taj Mahal. They provide an excellent buffet breakfast!
We paid 1,850 rupees for an all day 4x4 car rental and guide, which we split with our friends. We used the car to see three sites: Agra Fort, the Tomb of I'timad-ud-Daulah (aka. baby Taj or little Taj), and Mehtab Bagh.
Of all the forts we saw in India on this trip, Agra Fort was our favorite! You can get amazing views of Taj Mahal from Agra Fort! Baby Taj is also worth a visit!
Finally we went to to Mehtab Bagh, a park located across the river from Taj Mahal. The way the light hits the Taj during the sunset is very romantic.
Traffic leaving Mehtab Bagh was horrible! It literally took an hour to drive a couple hundred meters. You've been warned. :p But it's worth it! :)
We were exhausted, so we had dinner at the restaurant in the lobby of Radisson Blu. We went for hearty burgers. Glo had chicken burger and Tim had a buffalo burger. Because cows are sacred in India, beef burgers are impossible to find. Fortunately, our chicken and buffalo burgers were delicious!
We hope everyone had a happy Valentine's Day!!
As always, thank you for watching!!

THE TEMPLE OF LOVE DELHI & AGRA INDIA PEARL MOSQUE & TAJ MAJAL 59514
The Temple of Love, the seventh film in the 1930s’ travel film series Traveltalks, produced by James A. Fitzpatrick, takes viewers on a tour of India and features visits to Delhi, Agra, and the Deserted City. The film begins on the road outside of the Deserted City, Fatehpur Sikri (00:56), showing the ancient abandoned city. The impressive city (01:50) features a beautiful courtyard in the Great Mosque, and a surprising community of orphaned children (02:30). The tour of India continues with a visit to the Tower of Victory (03:22) on route to Delhi, which commemorates the victory of Muhammad over the Hindus. At Delhi (03:44), the viewer is treated to scenes of bustling streets and the sacred cows (04:10) that wander the city as if it is theirs. Other sights include a funeral procession (05:07) and a visit to Cathedral Mosque (05:25; 05:42; 05:57), built by Shah Jahan in the mid-seventeenth century. On the road from Delhi to Agra, the travelers encounter a “Punch and Judy” troupe (06:19), before arriving at the fortified walls of Agra (06:50). Snake charmers (07:18) sit outside of the city’s gates, where they cheer on a fight between a cobra and a mongoose (07:44). Inside the city is the beautiful Pearl Mosque (08:28), which—according to tradition—used to house a great pearl suspended from the ceiling. The final stop is at Taj Mahal (09:05), the so-called “Temple of Love,” the mausoleum of Mumtaz Mahal, built by Shah Jahan as a memorial to his wife.
Fatehpur Sikri is a town in the Agra District of Uttar Pradesh, India. The city was founded in the year 1569 by the Mughal Emperor Akbar the Great, and served as the capital of the Mughal Empire from 1571 to 1585, when it was abandoned. After his military victories over Chittor and Ranthambore, Akbar decided to shift his capital from Agra to a new location 23 miles (37 km) south-west, to honour the Sufi saint and Salim Chishti. Here, he commenced the construction of a planned walled city, which took the next fifteen years in planning and construction, with a series of royal palaces, harem, courts, a mosque, private quarters and other utility buildings. He named the city Fatehabad, with Fateh, a word of Arabic origin in Persian, meaning victorious. It was later called Fatehpur Sikri. It is at Fatehpur Sikri that the legends of Akbar and his famed courtiers, the nine jewels or Navaratnas, were born. Fatehpur Sikri is one of the best preserved examples of Mughal architecture in India.

India slow train to Agra (AC1 class train tour) to see Taj Mahal, Baby Taj & Agra Fort (Red Fort)
This tourist guide to Agra in India gives hints and tips for your visit to the Taj Mahal and suggests other highlights or places to see in Agra as well as a guide to 2 classes of Indian Rail travel - you will find a guide to an AC1 carriage which has 4 bunks in a cabin and also see an Executive Chair class carriage.
Travelling by train in India can be a bit confusing, especially getting to grips with all the different classes of train travel. This video starts in Udaipur at the railway station where I catch a night train to Agra. The video gives you a tour of the facilities in the train cabin and of the AC1 carriage.
First stop for anyone visiting Agra in India has to be the Taj Mahal. It is also possible to visit the Taj Mahal in a day trip from Delhi if you are short on time. I buy a VIP or priority ticket for the Taj Mahal which allows me to skip a lot of the queues.
On my second day in Delhi I have time to see some of the lesser known sights of India, including the Baby Taj and Agra Fort (the Red Fort of Agra) before I board a fast train in Executive class to Delhi.
Back in New Delhi India at a different railway station from the one I left, the only one serviced by Agra I believe, and finding an honest rickshaw driver to get to my hotel gives me quite a challenge. I would advise anyone arriving at H NIZAMUDDIN Railway Station in Delhi to make sure you already have a hotel booked, and rather book an Uber if at all possible, the rickshaws will try to block the road but the Uber driver will find you to help with your bags and save you a lot of hassle and possible hotel scams.

The Taj Mahal and Agra Fort - Agra India
Taj Mahal seems like an absolute must when visiting India - it's been a blitz through Agra, India, and I really enjoyed both Agra Fort and the Taj Mahal a lot. Beautiful, old, impressive structures both. Help me make better videos at and then find me on the internet in all of the usual spots:

My name is Jay Swanson - I'm an American writer living in Paris on an artist visa and hoping to make the city of light my home base - at least for the foreseeable future. I write science-fiction and fantasy, vlog daily, and love pizza a little too much.

FAQ:
How long have you lived in France? On and off for over two years.
What do you miss most about ho- NACHOS
You're always talking about living on some ship. WHAT SHIP? - I made a Draw My Life video that explains a lot here:
Where are you from originally? - Pullman, Washington - a small university/agricultural town near Idaho (and yes, the potatoes are amazing).
What do you film with? - I currently film almost exclusively with my Samsung Galaxy S8:
How do you get those shots where you're walking or running? - A Joby Gorillapod for smartphones, like this:
You drop your phone a lot, how does it survive? - THIS CASE IS AMAZING: (Galaxy S7) - (Galaxy S8) - (iPhone)
What do you edit with? - Adobe Premiere - it's pretty much all I've ever used since high school.
Aren't you ever freaked out by leaving your camera behind to film yourself? - Yep. But not too badly - I tend to be careful when I do.
Why are you living in #Paris? - Because I've always wanted to; I feel at home here:
But what are you doing there? - Living it up!
Do you speak French? Oui.
You talk a lot about the books you're working on, what are they about? - They're sci-fi (and fantasy) and I've got a decent pitch for you here:
Do you make money off YouTube? - Ha, no. I wish. It took me over 500 videos to make my first $100 off adsense. I think it will slowly change, but VERY slowly.
I really enjoy your videos, how can I support you? - The easiest and best way to support me is through Patreon, where you can pitch in as little as $1/mo to help me make better videos:
I don't trust this Patreon thing - what's your PayPal? - Here's a handy link!
I like PayPal in pink! - Here's my ko-fi if that's your thing (and coffee is your game):
But I want to send you something tangible! - I do have a wishlist on Amazon, though it's a bit complicated with the international shipping situation. This is the US one:
And here's the French one:
Can I come stay with you in Paris? - Have you seen my apartment? It's too small for me as it is!
OK, but how do I use the Metro when I'm there? - I made a handy video for you:

यह आगरा, उत्तर प्रदेश, भारत में स्थित शानदार आगरा किले की एक यात्रा वीडियो है. यह ताज महल सहित आगरा के कई हिस्सों के अद्भुत विचारों की पेशकश की.
: Agra Fort, is a monument, (Hindi: आगरा का किला, Urdu: آگرہ قلعہ) a UNESCO World Heritage site located in Agra, Uttar Pradesh, India. It is about 2.5 km northwest of its more famous sister monument, the Taj Mahal. The fort can be more accurately described as a walled city. After the First Battle of Panipat, in 1526 Mughals captured the fort and a vast treasure - which included a diamond later known as the Koh-i-Noor diamond - was seized. Babur stayed in the fort in the palace of Ibrahim and built a baoli (step well) in it. The emperorHumayun was crowned here in 1530. He was defeated in Bilgram in 1540. Sher Shah and his descendants held the fort for fifteen years. In 1555, Humanyun recaptured it for some time when the Hindu king 'Hem Chandra Vikramaditya' defeated his army and captured the fort. Akbar defeated the Hindu King Hem chanda finally at the Second Battle of Panipat in 1556: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Agra_Fort
Agra ; Hindi: आगरा, Urdu: آگرہ), the former capital of Hindustan[citation needed], is a city on the banks of the river Yamuna in the northern state of Uttar Pradesh, India, 363 kilometres (226 mi) west of state capital, Lucknow and 200 kilometres (124 mi) south of the national capital New Delhi. With a population of 1,686,976 (2010 est.), it is one of the most populous cities in Uttar Pradesh and the 19th most populous in India.[1] Because 80 percent of the city's sewage flows into Yamuna River, it is 20th most polluted city in India.[2] Agra can also refer to the administrative district that has its headquarters in Agra city.
The city finds mention in the epic Mahābhārata where it was called Agrevaṇa, or 'the border of the forest'.[3] Legend ascribes the founding of the city to Raja Badal Singh, a Sikarwar Rajput king (circa 1475), whose fort, Badalgarh, stood on or near the site of the present Fort. However, the 11th century Persian poet Mas'ūd Sa'd Salmān writes of a desperate assault on the fortress of Agra, then held by the Shāhī King Jayapala, by Sultan Mahmud of Ghazni.[4] Sultan Sikandar Lodī was the first to move his capital from Delhi to Agra in the year 1506; he died in 1517 and his son Ibrāhīm Lodī remained in power there for nine more years, finally being defeated at the Battle of Panipat in 1526.[5] Between 1540 to 1556, Afghans beginning with Sher Shah Suri to Hindu King Hem Chandra Vikramaditya, also called Hemu, ruled the area. It achieved fame as the capital of the Mughal emperors from 1556 to 1658. Later in 18th century it came under Jat rule. It is a major tourist destination because of its many splendid Mughal-era buildings, most notably the Tāj Mahal, Agra Fort and Fatehpūr Sikrī, all three of which are UNESCO World Heritage Sites: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Agra
