27 1 Devil's Thumb View, Returning from Engine Problem

On our first day fishing I ran the boat motor into some rocks during a trip South from Petersburg on the Wrangell Narrows. There are 59 channel markers in 21 miles of the channel and I ran aground in an area about 8 miles South of Petersburg. I felt the damage to the 40 horse was severe so we motored - trolled - North in the Channel on the four horse kicker motor needing about 6 hours to make the return. The owner of the boat rental put it in the shop that evening and by eleven thirty the next morning it was fixed. We had three days following with great fishingl. Near the North Harbor of Petersburg Maria took a brief movie of Devils Thumb and of the shoreline.
