We enjoy a wonderful day in Guildford, Surrey, England, exploring Victoria Station in London, Guildford Station, High Street, Stoke Park, Merrow Park, Guildford Castle gardens, streets, shops, the old Angel Hotel Posting House, and others.

Alfred the Great, the first Anglo-Saxon king of unified England, named the town in his will. Guildford was the location of the Royal Mint from 978 until part-way through the reign of William the Conqueror.

Guildford is a large town in Surrey, England, located 27 miles (43 km) southwest of central London on the A3 trunk road midway between the capital and Portsmouth.

The town has a population of just over 137,000 and is the seat of the wider Borough of Guildford which had an estimated 146,100 inhabitants in 2015.

Guildford has Saxon roots and historians attribute its location to the existence of a gap in the North Downs where the River Wey was forded by the Harrow Way. I went to Guildford Stoke Park Model Railway Event 2019. And it was great to come here sometimes as it was last time I went here was in 2015. And Model Railway Event run every Sundays afternoon between 2 and 5 as i was here tell 3. Also that day I was doing landslide shock on that day. And this one at Station seen people having a good time on that day.

Guildford is a large town in Surrey, England, located 27 miles southwest of central London on the A3 trunk road midway between the capital and Portsmouth. It is the seat of the borough of Guildford.

Guildford has Saxon roots and historians attribute its location to the existence of a gap in the North Downs where the River Wey was forded by the Harrow Way By AD 978 it was home to an early English Royal Mint. On the building of the Wey Navigation and Basingstoke Canal Guildford was connected to a network of waterways that aided its prosperity. In the 20th century, the University of Surrey and Guildford Cathedral, an Anglican cathedral, were added.

Due to recent development running north from Guildford, and linking to the Woking area, Guildford now officially forms the southwestern tip of the Greater London Built-up Area, as defined by the Office for National Statistics.

Guildford lies at the eastern end of the A31 and is bypassed by the A3, which links London and Portsmouth. The M25 is to the north-east of the town. Guildford has two railway stations. The main station is on the west side of the River Wey, across the river from the main shopping area and the bus station. It is on the Portsmouth Direct Line between London Waterloo and Portsmouth Harbour. Guildford's other station, London Road, is about half a mile (1 km) north-east of the town centre, on the New Guildford Line. It is served by stopping services only between Guildford and Waterloo.

Guildford Fireworks Fair 2019

Some shots of the fairground and a few clips of the fireworks display including the grand finale which was quite impressive . The fair seems to be getting smaller each year and the crowds were certainly down on previous years .
