Time Lapse: Outskirts of Reykjavík to Stokkseyri, Iceland
My first attempt of creating a time lapse video.
On my way from the capital city of Reykjavík to the small seaside village of Stokkseyri (Iceland), I decided to put my newly aquired GoPro (White Edition) to use.
I set the camera to 2 second intervals. Total frame count was 1192, and this video is 24 frames per second.
I used Adobe After Effects CS 5.5 to make the video.

Delicious Iceland - The secrets of the south coast of Iceland
In this episode the focus is on lobster/langoustine and vegetables. Chef Volli starts by traveling to a small village on the south coast of Iceland, called Stokkseyri were the country's most renowned lobster restaurant is located. There he meets up with the local chef that shows Chef Volli how he likes to cook the langoustine; in a simple yet rustic kind of way. Next Chef Volli heads to the harbor in Þorlákshöfn were a lobster boat has just arrived with some freshly caught langoustine.
On his way back to the kitchen he stops at Flúðir, a geothermal area, were fresh vegetables are grown in greenhouses all year around. There, a friend of his, a farmer named Baddi, explains the process; how the geothermal energy is used and shows him some of the vegetables he’s growing. Chef Volli leaves Baddi with an abundance of fresh vegetables that he will be using in his kitchen later in the episode. His next stop is a local farmer at Mosfellssveit, which is just outside of Reykjavik. There the farmers are growing vegetables, flowers and in this case ore importantly: strawberry. It is precisely the strawberry that Chef Volli s looking for and after picking a fair amount he heads to his kitchen where he tarts by making a delicious and a surprisingly simple vegetable soup. Next he focuses on the langoustine and makes two separate dishes out of it, and at the very end he uses the delicious strawberries to make a rustic strawberry cobbler that is sure to melt in your mouth.

Ingólfsfjall and Eyrarbakki, Iceland
This is a video of my trip to Iceland I did in August 2008.
Ingólfsfjall (551 m) is a volcano in southern Iceland between the towns of Hveragerði and Sellfoss which was created under an ice age glaciers.
Eyrarbakki is a fishing-town on the south-coast of Iceland with a population of about 570 people, not including inhabitants of the prison located there.
Iceland Vlog: Day 15 (The Westman Islands)
Welcome to day 15 of our driving and camping in Iceland trip! Today we visit the amazing Westman Islands and also see lots of puffins!
Day 15:
- We woke up early and headed to Landeyjahofn, where the ferry departs from, at 9:45, the ferry trip lasts about 40mins.
- After arriving in Vestmannaeyjar Harbour we drove off the ferry and headed straight for Eldfell Vocano. There are various starting points, all with an area to park in. It was about a 20min walk up to the top and although is was really windy, the views of the whole
island were spectacular.
- We then drove to the most southern tip of the Heimaey Island, and walked around cape Storhofdi, it was here that we came across thousands of puffins, most hidden in the cliffs or flying out to sea and back, but we also saw many just sitting on the grass and we were able to get some great photos.
. It then started to rain heavily and we had to run back to the car, and we headed back to the town in the north. As is was raining we drove around the northern part of the Island taking in the sights of the typical houses and also the coastal areas. There is also an amazing golf course there, overlooking the sea and the mountains.
- We had lunch is a Chinese restaurant which a few people from the area had recommend and after that we had a walk around the shops and had a coffee and some typical Icelandic cakes!
- We got the last ferry back to mainland at 18:45 and before going back to the campsite we stopped at the small Hella town of to go to the swimming pool, where we relaxed in the hot tub and had a well deserved shower!
- Our campground for that night was Stokkseyri, it was about an hours drive, but it was closer to Reykjavic so that we would be able to get there sooner the next day.

Tók smá video af Guðjóni Hólabergs Ræktun að stýra Líf í markeringu, sem var frekar erfið, að mati flestra.
Hljóðið er ömurlegt og smá hristingur inn á milli en þið erfið það vonandi ekkert við mig

Enroute Akureyri to Reykjavik, Iceland, Jan 2014
Passing mountain road (Oxnadalsheidi) on highway 1, from Akureyri to Reykjavik, Iceland in January 2014
The LAVA Centre, Hvolsvöllur, southern Iceland.
The LAVA Centre attempts to explain the volcanic history of Iceland and is located in Hvolsvöllur, southern Iceland, about 90 minutes (100km) drive east of the capital Reykyavik.
Some interesting interactive displays especially the volcanic eruption room showing the four volcanoes around the centre (I did film this but the graphics seemed to make the camera footage go haywire and flash in odd colours and so I did not include it).
Whilst interesting I must admit I left feeling it was a bit overpriced (£20 or US$26) once I had been through it. This was my first day in Iceland and whilst I expected Iceland to be an expensive place, I thought this was a bit much.
Worth it if the weather is really bad, but there is so much to see for free in Iceland, visit an outdoor location instead. In my opinion, not an essential stop on the ring road.
