Stoltzekleiven in Bergen, Norway
Stoltzekleiven is one of the most popular hikes in Bergen, Norway. After climbing the 908 steps to the top you are rewarded with spectacular views of the city center.
The walk up takes about 30 minutes. It's a one way street going up, so we walked back down via Fløyen.

Bergen is the City of Norway, ideal for the one who likes to be in good shape.
Surrounded by seven mountains, gives huge possibilitis to practice athletics, and of course, uphill training.
The very steep uphill of Stoltzekleiven, wich appair toward Sandviksfjellet, at a height of 313.5 m. through 801 steps (is said that this is the most steep uphill of the world) gives real good conditions-results to a systematic training.
Evey years, a competition is organized on Stoltzekleiven by the Varegg in Bergen near the end of september. Because this uphill-run on this mountain is a tradition, most of people in Bergen, around Norway and maybe also from foreign countries paticipate, no matter if they can faint or get a heart attck for lack of training.
Jon Tvedt, the Norwegian champion from Bergen, called the king of mountains running uphill The king of Stoltzekleiven (Kongen av motbakkeløp Motbakkekongen Kongen av Stoltzekleiven - Il re di corsa su salita (corse su salite) in montagna Il re di Stoltzekleiven) kept is record of 8 minutes and some seconds (I can't remember precisely the seconds) for meny years, untill he died after is last victory in 2008 under a training on Gullfjellet (see my presentation of this mountain on my channel). He was only 43 years old. He has been immensely honored from most people in Bergen and from all who knew him around the world.
Because repairs and renewals this year has been made on Stoltzekleiven (they are still working on it), it's much easeier now to run to the top. The old record from Jon Tvedt is now
protected.

VisitBergen:
Stoltzekleiven in Bergen city center is a steep paved trail and stairs with approximately 722 steps up to Sandviksfjellet. Stoltzekleiven is one of the most popular trails in Bergen.
Enjoy this hard but short popular hike from Fjellveien up Stoltzekleiven.
The tour is divided into two parts with a challenging and an easy leg. The first part of the walk is mostly steep stone stairs. The more you climb, the better the view you get. The trip is suitable for both children and adults, but the hike is not recommended in winter when it can be slippery.
You will find the start of Stoltzekleiven by Fjellveien 13, about 30 minutes’ walk from the city center.
From the top of Stoltzekleiven you have beautiful views of Sandviken and Byfjorden.
The trail is quite narrow and is a one way street going up. From the top you have several options but the most common route is to continue to Mount Fløyen.
From the top continue straight ahead a couple of minutes until you come to a lake. Do not go over the bridge but turn right. From there, follow signs to Fløyen. It takes about 40 minutes. From Fløyen you have stunning views over the city and from here you can take the Fløibanen funicular down to the center or walk down (40 minutes). Follow signs to City center and Fløysvingene and you will come down by Fløibanen’s bottom station.
Wiki:
Bergen, historically Bjørgvin, is a city and municipality in Hordaland on the west coast of Norway. At the end of the first quarter of 2016, the municipality's population was 278,121, and the Bergen metropolitan region has about 420,000 inhabitants. Bergen is the second-largest city in Norway. The municipality covers 465 square kilometres (180 sq mi) and is on the peninsula of Bergenshalvøyen. The city centre and northern neighbourhoods are on Byfjorden, 'the city fjord', and the city is surrounded by mountains; Bergen is known as the 'city of seven mountains'. Many of the extra-municipal suburbs are on islands. Bergen is the administrative centre of Hordaland, and consists of eight boroughs - Arna, Bergenhus, Fana, Fyllingsdalen, Laksevåg, Ytrebygda, Årstad, and Åsane.

When visiting Bergen, nobody goes away before having trampled three mountains:
Fløyen, Ulriken and Stoltzekleiven.
This trip started from the carpark in the neighborhood of Svartediket (Svartediket is a lake in Bergen, in Hordaland, Norway, and the main source of drinking water for the central parts of the city). Through the fantastic and very long way Fjellveien, the very steep uphill of Stoltzekleiven were reached. From the top and hiking through wonderful paths, mount Fløyen were reached too. The return to the carpark was really amazing too.
Italiano:

A hiking day climbing up 700 meters to the top, 300 meters above sea level and 2km away from Bergen town. I made it! There were 3 small beautiful dams on the way down. I really enjoyed the nature.

To Mount Rundemanen, From Stoltzekleiven - Al Monte Rundemanen, Da Stoltzekleiven (Remix)
Rundemanen is a mountain in Bergen Norway. It is considered one of the De syv fjell (seven mountains) surrounding Bergen, and at 568 meters is the second highest of them. It's a part of the same massif as Fløyen and Ulriken, but not easily visible from the city center. The radio station at the top was founded in 1912, but it was closed down in the 80s. Rundemanen is a well known hiking area among the citizens of Bergen.
--
