Stone Island ( Isla de la Piedra ) Mazatlan Mexico
music: Beachfront Celebration by Kevin Mac Leod, incompetech.com, While in Mazatlan we went with our friends horseback riding on Stone Island and we loved it. It was a beautiful place, great food, a lot of fun....Mazatlán (Spanish pronunciation: [masaˈtɬan] ( listen)) is a city in the Mexican state of Sinaloa. The city serves as the municipal seat for the surrounding municipio, known as the Mazatlán Municipality. It is located at 23°13′N 106°25′W on the Pacific coast, across from the southernmost tip of the Baja California peninsula.
Mazatlán is a Nahuatl word meaning place of deer.[1] The city was founded in 1531 by an army of Spaniards and indigenous settlers.[2] By the mid-19th century a large group of immigrants had arrived from Germany. These new citizens developed Mazatlán into a thriving commercial seaport, importing equipment for the nearby gold and silver mines. It served as the capital of Sinaloa from 1859 to 1873. The German settlers also influenced the local music, banda, which is an alteration of Bavarian folk music. The settlers also established the Pacifico Brewery on March 14, 1900.
With a population of 438,434 (city) and 489,987 (municipality) as of the 2010 census, Mazatlán is the second-largest city in the state. It is also a popular tourist destination, with its beaches lined with resort hotels. A car ferry plies its trade across the Gulf of California from Mazatlán to La Paz, Baja California Sur. The municipality has a land area of 3,068.48 km² (1,184.75 sq mi) and includes smaller outlying communities such as Villa Unión, La Noria, El Quelite, El Habal and many other small villages. Mazatlán is served by General Rafael Buelna International Airport.

The Stone Island. A peninsula that can be accessed by car and boat, and offers visitors a good variety of seafood restaurants and activities to spend a good time, such as swimming, horseback riding, cart, camping, kayaking and bike or motorcycle and, of course, relax by the sea with a Pacific beer in your hand.

Now, who are the Real Estate Guides?
We represent a group of real estate professionals from 21 cities throughout
Mexico. Our associates include attorneys, notarios, accountants, architects
and escrow companies.
We are uniquely qualified to professionally guide you through the process of
choosing the city or area in Mexico that compliments your lifestyle, qualifying
the construction, and processing the purchase and closing documents.
Our success is reflected in our fiduciary responsibility to our clients, attention
to detail and personal service.
Warren Buffet famously said: “I won the lottery when I was born is the US.”
He was certainly right!
Rex and Ricardo Say: “ If you are fortunate to find your way to Mexico as a
Final Destination…you just won the Powerball Lottery. You can decide the
veracity for yourself but it’s becoming common knowledge south of the border.
We all end up in Mexico for different reasons. I came to Mazatlan (2003) after
years of vacationing in PV. How refreshing, a true Mexican City with miles of
beaches and a laid back Expat community….Amazing….and I never looked back.
After graduating from the University of Washington, I spent 20 years in
construction as a union carpenter and building custom and spec homes as a
general contractor. After my 3rd knee surgery, I ventured into the real estate
industry and received a great education via Windermere R.E. Olympia Wn.
I was a licensed real estate agent in Washington State from 1995-2013 and
was co-owner of a start-up brokerage from 2002-2008, so venturing into the
Mexico real estate market was a natural process for me. I bought a condo in
2006 and within a couple of years I was coming to Mazatlan 5-6 times a year
and spending6 months in Mexico.
Life is Short if you’re lucky, very short if you’re not so lucky. So when the Great
Recession of 2008 devastated the US economy……..it was time for me to turn
in that lotto ticket and become a fulltime resident in Mexico.
I have been a licensed broker in Mazatlan, a member of the MLS (AMPI) and
Realtor Association since 2009. After four years of referral business in
Washington state, I retired my license in August, 2013.
My associate and director of MRG, Ricardo Angulo, was born in Mexico over 4
decades ago. He came to Mazatlan in 2000 for family business and fell in love
with the city. Soon thereafter becoming a full time Mazatleco. In 2006 he
began his career in real estate. Ricardo is bi-lingual, well versed in the
evolution of Mexico and has been a member of AMPI (MLS) and Realtor
Association since 2008. He is familiar with the legal channels in Mexico and
committed to continuous learning and updating, taking real estate courses
every year as laws and local destinations are changing rapidly. Recently, he
was honored as the moderator on the annual AMPI real estate course.
Ricardo loves the Mexican culture, the history of real estate and the
geographical diversity throughout Mexico. He is enthusiastic about sharing
his knowledge, contacts and experiences.
We have incorporated US standards into our documentation and fiduciary
responsibilities. We also work directly with our associates and affiliates in the
MLS (AMPI) who continue to provide leadership by example………..we are so
fortunate!
