Stonewall Peak, Julian, California.
The Stonewall Peak is just one in about 100 miles of trails that you can find in the Cuyamaca Rancho State Park. This moderate peak stretches for 2 miles uphill, being one of the most populars in the park. Once at the top you will be rewarding with the most beautiful views of the desert, the coast and the Cuyamaca Lake.
Dogs are allowed on the trail, but not in picnic or camping areas. Other recommendations, drink plenty of water, bring some snacks, sun protection, and comfortable clothes and shoes.

The trail up Stonewall Peak in Cuyamaca Rancho State Park is one of the most popular in that nearly 25,000-acre park.
When you reach the top, there is literally a 360-degree view over of the forested peaks and wide-open meadows below, including an excellent birds-eye view of Lake Cuyamaca.
Stonewall Peak Hike Vlog/Cinematic (It started hailing!) Cuyamaca Rancho SP
I had nothing to do, and my other plans got cancelled, so I decided to go to Cuyamaca Rancho state park. I explored around a bit, and eventually found the Stonewall peak trail- so thought it might be fun to make a cinematic video on the experiences of hiking, and driving, and everything about the roadtrip! It is a bit longer than usual, but I had a great time filming and editing this video! ─────────────────────────────────────────

Earth Day 2017 at the Cuyamaca Rancho State Park w/ CRSPIA
In commemoration of Earth Day last Saturday, CRSPIA, the California State Parks Foundation & dozens of volunteers came together to do maintenance work on trails & various other clean-up projects in the Rancho Cuyamaca State Park. It was a great turn out & we filled two 15 yard roll offs full of waste, concrete & asphalt for recycling, as well as a 40 yard dumpster with 4 tons of post fire wood debris. Thanks to everyone that came out & showed their support. We can’t do this work without you.
Please help support our State Parks. You can help by doing some volunteer work or you can make a donation to CRSPIA:
Spring Break 2017 - Day 4: Cuyamaca Rancho State Park
Day 4 of our 7 day trip our family took for Spring Break this year. We drove a loop through the southwestern United States. On this fourth day we spent the morning checking out Green Valley Falls near our camp at Cuyamaca Rancho State Park east of San Diego before driving further east to Casa Grande, AZ to stay the night with my parents.

Green Valley Falls
Green Valley Falls is one of the hike trails in the Cuyamaca Rancho State Park in California, located 40 miles (64 km) east of San Diego in the Cuyamaca and Laguna Mountains of the Peninsular Ranges. The park's 26,000 acres (11,000 ha) feature pine, fir, and oak forests, with meadows and streams that exist due to the relatively high elevation of the area compared to its surroundings. The park includes 6,512-foot (1,985 m) Cuyamaca Peak, the second-highest point in San Diego County.
Park amenities include trails for hiking, horseback riding, and mountain biking, as well as campgrounds for family, group, equestrian, and primitive trail camping; as well as an exhibit at a former gold mine, the Stonewall Mine.
Wildlife in the area includes mountain lions, which have been known to attack humans, and park literature emphasizes avoiding encounters with them. Numerous other species of mammals, birds, reptiles, and amphibians are known to reside within the park.
