Romania - Bucharest Storck museum/ Румыния, Музей Сторка
Storck museum is not a very well known by the tourists. The museum is hosted in the former house of the artists Frederic Storck and Cecilia Cuţescu-Storck. In order to prevent nationalization of the house, the family donated the collections to the Romanian government in 1951.
The museum presents works of artists of the Storck family and also includes some medieval and other objects.
Kitsch Museum - Bucharest, Romania
The kitsch museum in Bucharest, Romania. Shown are some of the items inside. The museum is worth to visit.
The Bucharest Natural History Museum, Romania.
The Grigore Antipa National Museum of Natural History as it is formerly known contains the best and most complete deinotherium giganteum fossil in the world and really is worth the admission price on its own.
A significant part of this museum contains dioramas of a multitude of stuffed animals and a section on the human body made up of the kind of plastic models that can be bought from any school science supply company. In other words a bit disappointing. But hidden among these so-so displays are enough gems to make a visit worthwhile.
Footnote: The flying dinosaur is in fact a Hatzegopteryx thambema or a pterosaur (a flying reptile). It is the largest flying creature to ever live on this planet.

Jewish Romania: Holy Union Synagogue of Tailors Museum, Bucharest
Steve and I kept on going with guide Eduard (romaniajewishtours.com and medievaltours.com) to the Holy Union Synagogue of Tailors, now a Jewish History Museum. This temple managed to survive in its entirety through both World War II and Ceausescu (Romania's last Communist leader) who was intent on destroying anything having to do with religion. Built in 1850 by the Jewish Tailors' Guild of Bucharest, this stunning temple had Moorish, Romanesque and Byzantine elements.
Displays inside included a collection of books, paintings of and by Romanian Jews, and archives of Romanian History.

Bucharest In Your Pocket - National Art Museum (MNAR; Muzeul National de Arta)
The country's largest, and most impressive art collection is housed inside the splendid former Royal Palace, first built in 1812 as a private home by the wealthy trader Dinucu Golescu. When his sons fell into financial ruin some years later, they were forced to sell the building to the state, which carried out huge modifications, adding a number of new wings. It became a royal residence in 1859, when it became the sight of the court of the first prince of the united principalities, Alexandru Ion Cuza. Although slightly remodelled in the 1930s, the building we see today is more or less the original, revolutionary damage notwithstanding. Indeed, some parts of the building have only recently been reopened after the mindless vandalism of those mad days in December 1989, when the building was ransacked by the iconoclastic mob, which saw the building (named the Palace of the Socialist Republic during the communist period) as a symbol of the regime.

La pas, prin timp, in Muzeul Varstelor
trecerea inexorabila a vremii.
