Welcome to Stoughton, a thriving city in Dane County, Wisconsin that sits on the Yahara River and is about a 20 mile drive from the Wisconsin State Capitol. The city is known best for its Norwegian heritage and culture, which you can learn more about from exhibits and special events at the Livsreise - Norwegian Heritage Center, located in the heart of downtown Stoughton.
The historic downtown area is thriving with locally owned boutique shops and eateries, as well as the Stoughton Cinema Cafe and Opera House. The Sweet Sheiks do Babyface at the Stoughton Opera House
On September 24 the Sheiks opened for Jim Kweskin and Geoff Muldaur at the beautiful opera house in Stoughton Wisconsin. The opera house was built in 1901. By the early fifties it was in decline and was extensively damaged by roof leaks. It was soon closed. In the early eighties restoration work was begun. Now it's a beautiful venue with superb acoustics and a state of the art sound system. The Sweet Sheiks do one of their favorites with vocals by Ousia and Jen. Ousia also adds an excellent whistling solo.

If Norway is on your travel list but not in your budget, start with Stoughton! This idyllic Dane County Wisconsin gem wins the award for most ethnic joy. While Stoughton celebrates its Norwegian roots, there's also plenty to do and see that doesn't require you know how to pronounce Syttende Mai. Now John knows that Naugahyde is a made here by a company that everyone thinks makes tires. He knows that Lutefisk, when prepared correctly by the Hanson brothers, is delicious! And he knows that if this TV thing doesn't work out, he could take up rosemaling. Watch, and you'll know why Stoughton should be on your travel list for its own sake! (But if you come and only see the creepy statue of the Norwegian troll lady with the giant feet and rolling pin down by the river, or the remote controlled, smoke-expelling dragon at the Viking Pub, your trip would be worth it --- honest!)

2018_01_01_Stoughton WI Fire on Main St (Second Call)
Last night the fire on Main St. rekindled. I was only up for about 2 minutes because a Stoughton PD Officer Politely asked me to take it down. Given the fact that my hands were already numb in the -10 degree temps I didn't want to argue and wanted to go over the rights and rules with him so he understood. Boring quick little video.

Nick Prueher Honoring Nazi Norwegian Black Metal Bands with Stoughton WI Parade Float
Video used under fair use law.

Ms. *******,
As you know, two serial church arsonists, both black metal musicians, have been arrested very recently for burning churches. One, Jacob Lowenstein of the black metal band Igni was arrested in Christchurch, New Zealand two weeks ago for burning two churches two and four days prior to the Christchurch, New Zealand mosque attack, which killed 50. Lowenstein lists Burzum, the band of Norwegian black metal musician and convicted church arsonist Varg Vikernes, on the soundcloud page for his black metal band Igni.[6]
Another, Holden Matthews of the black metal band Vodka Vultures was arrested in St. Landry Parish Louisiana last week for burning three churches.
Here, the Louisiana State Fire Marshall states the ties to black metal.
Both were inspired by Norwegian black metal and the Norwegian black metal musician, convicted church arsonist and convicted murderer Varg Vikernes, of the bands Mayhem and Burzum, who has expressed support for Norwegian terrorist Anders Breivik. Vikernes has been a leader of the Heathen Front hate group and now has 248,000 subscribers on his Thulean Perspective YouTube hate channel.[7]
Based on what you just revealed to me on the phone about the current parade plans, Norwegian black metal is being honored in Stoughton Wisconsin's Syttende Mai Norwegian Independence Day Parade on Sunday, May 19. This is the YouTube video Nick Prueher used to promote and fund the float, which was modeled after Mayhem artwork. Church arsonist Vikernes, again, was a member of Mayhem, and his acts of church arson and the similar acts they inspired are the most well known element in the history of black metal. [5][9] In the video, Prueher states about the parade, I think it's a shame that it has thus far not recognized Norway's history of black metal music.

In the first twenty seconds after the time at which the link will start the video, he plugs four bands. They are:
1. Mayhem: Nazis, a convicted murderer and church arsonist, a promoter of mosque attacks and an ally of Anders Breivik, who killed 77 and inspired numerous other terrorist attacks. [13]
2. Satyricon: Drummer Kjetil-Vidar Haraldstad played in a band called Zyklon-B. That's the name of the gas used in the Nazi concentration camps. Frontman and singer Sigurd Wongraven stated Given that I live in a heathen country, where Christians have invaded my country, I can't speak up against church burning. Performed Mother North with the Oslo Opera, singing United we stand, together we walk. Phantom North, I'll be there when you hunt them down. YouTube commenters said they cried when they heard it sung with the Oslo Opera and suggested it should be the national anthem. [19][13][16][20]
3. Immortal: Notorious for their album Pure Holocaust. [13]
4. Darkthrone: After Mayhem's Vikernes burned churches and committed murder, he wrote the lyrics for four songs on Darkthrone's 1994 album. In bold, old Germanic script, the band labeled the CD Norsk Arisk Black Metal, which means Norwegian Aryan Black Metal. [13]
The float will incorporate a very large satanic inverted pentagram symbol along with other related symbolism. It's also worth nothing that Prueher has been sued for previous actions intended to humiliate the media.
During last year's parade I discussed the float with 50-100 parade viewers, showing them the anti-Christian, Satanic, violent ethnic pagan ideologies and church burning history of the Norwegian black metal movement, including images of churches burned by Vikernes, bassist for the band Mahem, the band who's artwork inspired the float design. I now have a very clear picture of how these violent anti-Christian views are perceived in your community.
...
among those who responded to the concerns I raised were more than a few who asserted that the church burning actions of the black metal movement deserved to be honored
...
Following the St. Landry Parish arrest, there are hundreds of law enforcement personnel working to address the organized ideological hate motives associated with the Louisiana black metal church arsons. The Stoughton Chief of Police recognizes the gravity of the black metal problem, but does not have the authority to tell you that this float can't appear in the parade. He has not told you that the ideology is benign. He has told you that the people representing the float don't represent a physical threat in the parade. There's a big difference. You're using his statements to assert to me and to the community that the float is not a problem.
Please reconsider your position on this serious issue. I strongly urge you to reject this float from you Syttende Mai parade.

Nick Prueher Nazi Black Metal 2.0
Video and image content used under fair use law.
Nick Prueher intends to honor Nazi church burning Norwegian black metal bands in Stoughton Wisconsin's Syttende Mai parade. He states about the parade, I think it's a shame that it has thus far not recognized Norway's history of black metal music then goes on to name four bands for which he seeks recognition.
They are:
1. Mayhem: Nazis, a convicted murderer and church arsonist, a promoter of mosque attacks and an ally of Anders Breivik, who killed 77 and inspired numerous other terrorist attacks.
3. Immortal: Notorious for their album Pure Holocaust.

With this, Prueher is humiliating his own mother as well as the people of Stoughton, Wisconsin by getting them to support and partake in this.
This float weaves an extremely hateful and dangerous ideology into the cultural fabric of the Stoughton community and leads the community and it's children down a sick and evil path.
Let's unite in ensuring that this float never appears in another Stoughton parade.
