Trip to Ireland - fabulous horsbackriding - Sligo Grange
Begonnen in Sligo, 2 dagen cultuur, vervolgens 10 dagen 'back to nature' op een 'horse farm'. Retour via Dublin en net op tijd voor de laatste dag van de Dublin Horse Show. Hier een compilatie van hetgeen ik het allerleukste vind, te paard de omgeving leren kennen.
Remembering the Spanish Armada - Sligo, Ireland 2016
In 1588, 3 ships of the Spanish Armada, La Lavia, La Santa María de Visión and La Juliana, were wrecked at Streedagh Beach in Sligo, Ireland, as they retreated following defeat to the English. Over 1,100 men died at Streedagh as a result.
In 2016 a Spanish navy vessel, the OPV Centinela, made the return trip to the shores of Sligo to honour the memory of the fallen Armada soldiers. This video was produced by Omedia to mark this historic event.

Remembering the Armada 2017 - The Spanish Armada in Sligo
Filmed by
The Remembering the Armada ceremony provides a fitting end to the Celtic Fringe Festival, and takes place annually on Streedagh Beach, which is located along the Wild Atlantic Way in Sligo, Ireland.
Every year, locals and visitors alike assemble at Streedagh to pay tribute to the lives of Spanish Armada sailors, 1,100 of whom died on the beach in 1588.
In recent years, this event has also come to attract many Spanish people who come to connect with their ancestors. The Armada story at Streedagh is a complex one, which brings to mind a time of conflict, deprivation and at every step, a fight for survival.
The account of Captain Francisco de Cuéllar, a Spanish Armada survivor at Streedagh, describes a world which we can scarcely relate to, much less judge. Therefore, by paying tribute to all of the lives lost during those tumultuous days at Streedagh, we respectfully remember those souls who perished, and we hope in some small way that this will help build new friendships between the Irish and Spanish people who come to the event.
Filmed on location at Streedagh Beach, Sligo on September 24th 2017 by local television production company Omedia with soundtrack by Niamh Farrell, who sings the lament Úna Dheas Ní Niadh.

Spanish Armada in Sligo - recovery of cannon
Cannon and other priceless artefacts, recovered by divers of the Underwater Archaeology Unit (UAU) of the National Monuments Service at Streedagh Strand in Sligo are brought to shore at Mullaghmore Harbour in July 2015.
This is a video diary of the events as they unfolded. This was the first time the cannon have been seen since the Armada ships sank at Streedagh in 1588. These artefacts have been removed for safe keeping and conservation by the UAU to Dublin. Produced in conjunction with the Grange & Armada Association (GADA) by Omedia.
Trip to Ireland - Sligo - crosscountry - horsebackriding 2
This summer i booked myself a trip to Ireland for crosscountry horsebackriding. I was looking for nature, culture, a maximum of relaxation and being with animals a lot! I started in Sligo, with 2 days of culture, followed by 10 days on the horse farm in Grange and ended this lovely 'back to nature' trip with a visit to Dublin (TempleBar) and was right on time for the Dublin Horse Show.
