Kenosha, Wisconsin, Etats-unis [USA] KT Tramway Streetcar Red Rocket PCC MUNI San Francisco

Kenosha Wisconsin Streetcar
Its been a while since I have uploaded anything so here is a video from my visit to Kenosha Wisconsin. This is video of me riding the streetcar in Kenosha WI the car I rode was the same color as the streetcars that used to be on Cincinnati Ohio's city streets in the 40s and 50s. Also apparently Kenosha Wisconsin of all places is the first american city in the 21st century to embrace bringing rail transit (in the form of a streetcar) back to the United States the railway runs in a loop through downtown and by Harbor Park which is by Lake Michigan. The city bought their fleet of streetcars from the Toronto Transit Commission and restored them to have to transport locals and vistors around the area. This was my first time riding a historic streetcar and I definately enjoyed it I also recommend hoping on if you're in the area or passing by because its well worth the $1 for the experience!
Ex Toronto PCC Streetcars Operate In Kenosha Wisconsin
Kenosha Wisconsin operates a small streetcar system using former Toronto Transit Commission PCC streetcars and one car from SEPTA in Philadelphia. Here former Toronto streetcar 4615 is seen going around the downtown loop. There are also views of the carhouse, featuring the former Toronto cars.
Kenosha Streetcar August 2014
The city of Kenosha, Wisconsin has a fleet of former Toronto PCC streetcars that have been repainted in heritage paint schemes of former U.S. systems. We see 4615 painted in the Johnstown, PA livery. Johnstown was the smallest U.S. system to have these streamlined PCC trolleys in their fleet.
The Kenosha system runs a circulator between the Metra commuter rail station and the beautiful Harbor Park.

WPT In Wisconsin - Milwaukee Streetcars
There has been a lot of talk about a controversial high speed train between Milwaukee and Madison. At the same time another form of rail service is flying under the radar. Kenosha has been operating retro street cars for a decade, Madison's Mayor has talked about the idea, but now Wisconsin's largest city is on track to get low speed rail. Contributing producer Fred Wessel found there is support but not everyone is on board.

Kenosha Streetcar Expansion
Kenosha Streetcar Expansion
On Monday Sept 22nd 2014 the Kenosha City Council voted on selecting the route for the streetcar expansion. Exhibit A was approved after a long round of comments first by citizens (I was one and was honored with a spot in the local daily) and then by alderman. Expanding the streetcar was high on the recommended list from the Lakota group study. The actual construction will most likely take place in 2016
Ride along in the tractor along the approved route. Commuter rail station, 3 museums, numerous restaurants and many various shops along the way.
[Wikipedia] Kenosha station
Kenosha is a railroad station in Kenosha, Wisconsin, United States, served by Metra's Union Pacific/North Line. It is the northern terminus of the line, which runs south to the Ogilvie Transportation Center in Chicago, Illinois. Kenosha is the only Metra station in Wisconsin at 51.6 miles (83.0 km) from Ogilvie Transportation Center. Because it is located outside Metra service area, the service to the station is partially subsidized by the city of Kenosha. It is the northernmost station of the entire Metra system, making it the most northern station in the entire RTA network.
The station was opened in 1855 by the Chicago & Milwaukee Railroad and was acquired by the CN&W in 1881. The last intercity passenger train stopped in Kenosha in 1971; since then it has only been used for commuter services by the CN&W, then Metra in 1984
It is the only passenger station in Kenosha County, since Amtrak's closest station is in Sturtevant.
The Kenosha station used to be owned by the Chicago and Northwestern and served many trains in its day like the Twin Cities 400, Flambeau 400, Shoreland 400, Valley 400, and Peninsula 400.
The station is linked to Kenosha's streetcar system, which stops on the far side of the station's parking lot.
Though Kenosha Station pre-dates the Civil War, it was restored in the period between 2004 and 2006. Metra does not have a ticket office there, and the waiting room serves as dining area for a fast food restaurant.
Kenosha is served by nine Chicago-bound trains on a weekday, five on a Saturday, and three on a Sunday or holiday. Most other trains terminate at the Waukegan station. There is a small coach yard at Kenosha where nine trainsets are stored overnight and on weekends as well as a Union Pacific maintenance facility.
Los Angeles Streetcars - The Final Years
Los Angeles commuters of the 1950s and earlier fondly referred to their unique narrow-gauge streetcars as yellow cars. By the mid-fifties, there were six of these yellow car lines being operated by the Los Angeles Transit Lines.
Come along for a trip back in time, to a city that has now faded from all buy memory and film. We'll take you on a complete, end-to-end tour of the W and S lines, which were the last car lines using H Series standard-type streetcars. You'll also catch a glimpse of the two trolley coach lines that graced the city in 1956.
In 1958, the Metropolitan Transit Authority took over from the Los Angeles Transit Lines and converted the whole system to streamlined PCC-type cars. Most of these cars were painted two-tone green. You'll see the entire routes of the system's five remaining lines, which were identified as R, S, V, P and J. This historic presentation then takes you to the Georgia Street Car House on the last day of the system's operation, and to the Vernon Yard as the retired cars are placed in storage.
Railfans, historians, and Angelenos of all ages will be thrilled with the fascinating detail in this remarkable video about the final years of Los Angeles's memorable yellow car lines.

Kenosha Streetcar Track Repair 2017
Kenosha Wisconsin installed it's streetcar line in 2000 and the work shown here is the first time any repairs have been done to the track. The first part of the video shows Volkmann Railroad builders crew breaking out the concrete, cutting out a section of rail and welding the new rail in place. The second repair was to realign the track just west of the 6th avenue switch. A photo taken on a hot summer day shows the extent of the deviation. Hot days one part headed north and when it cooled it pulled another part south, getting a bit worse each time. Looks so much better. Our thanks to the great crew and the wonderful job they did on the repairs in two days. Please enjoy this silent video of a very small part of the work done. streetcarBrad
