Pilates Retreats with Sarah Hardy at Lavacchio
Sarah runs Pilates retreats at Col di Lavacchio in the beautiful Garfagnana Hills in Tuscany. The farmhouse location has fabulous views over the Tuscan countryside. Undulating gardens offer many quiet corners for relaxing and reading, a salt water pool and walking in the surrounding hills, giving you the chance to completely relax and recharge your batteries. A professional chef prepares the superb meals using locally sourced organic produce. Wine tasting and a pizza night are both included in the week. The Pilates course consists of a daily half-hour morning stretch, a two hour morning toning and strengthening workshop and a gentle one hour stretch and relaxation session in the early evening prior to dinner.
Numbers are limited to ensure individual attention and to maintain an atmosphere of tranquility and calm.

Barry accidentally fell into a career in fitness, though truthfully, it's been a part of him his entire life. According to his mom, his first word was yogi, and despite being known to cry in the backyard when he started to sweat, Barry went on to take fitness very seriously as he played baseball through college and on professional scouting teams. He was actually introduced to yoga through his baseball regimen. It quickly grew to become one of the most important parts of who he is and took him to countries around the world like India, the United Arab Emirates, and China. His unique style is a blend of all the different experiences he's had, from studying at an ashram to training celebrities, professional athletes, Shanghainese people in Mandarin, and those just getting started with yoga.

Aerial yoga, also called “antigravity yoga” is a combination of traditional yoga poses, pilates, and dance with the use of special yoga hammocks. Being suspended in the air releases tension from the bones and muscles, increasing flexibility and deepening our practice.
Aerial yoga strengthens core muscles and increases the flexibility of the spine, hips and shoulders.
Aerial yoga requires a special kind of hammock which can support up to 300 kilos of weight. At Anaahat Yog we use comfortable 5-meter long silk slings. The hammock acts like a swing or soft trapeze, supporting the hips for forwarding bends and backbends, shoulders and legs for inversions, and adds support for many poses of hatha yoga. Yoga postures which some people find difficult to practice on the ground (such as handstand or scorpion), may be easier to achieve in mid-air using the hammock, it can also add variety and challenge to a workout.
