PRODIGY BOWLERS TOUR -- 01-13-2018 'STRIKE...OR ELSE!
PRODIGY BOWLERS TOUR - Episode 48 - Strike...Or Else!
In this week's show, all nine kids who went to the starting gate make the show in a unique 9-player stepladder finals. Each match begins with three players, but may or may not end with three players, as Coach Randy throws another twist at the kids. In Strike...Or Else! if two players throw a strike on the first ball in a frame and the other player fails to match their strikes, then the player who fails to strike faces instant elimination from the match.
USBC Silver Certified Coach Randy Brown has the play-by-play call. Recorded live at Brunswick Zone Roswell in Roswell, Georgia on Saturday, January 13, 2018 for release on January 16, 2018.

PRODIGY BOWLERS TOUR -- 02-03-2018 -- (REAL LIFE) STRIKE OR NO STRIKE
PRODIGY BOWLERS TOUR -- Episode 51 - (REAL LIFE) STRIKE OR NO STRIKE (SUPER BOWLING WEEKEND EDITION) -- Recorded Saturday, February 3, 2018 for release on Tuesday, February 6, 2018. Originating this week from AMF Woodstock in Woodstock, Georgia.
On the weekend of the biggest pro football game of the year, 23 youth bowlers and their parents descended on our host bowling center of AMF Woodstock for a special Road Show edition of PRODIGY BOWLERS TOUR. And by popular demand (by our bowlers and their parents), we repeated the Swiss match play qualifying format. But this time, we winnowed the filed down to the final 9 players for an unusual Championship Round stepladder, with three-player matches consisting of 9 frames each, where the players would be shooting only for strikes.
In a tip of the hat to the old prime time TV show called Jackpot Bowling, only strikes count in this Championship Round, and the player who gets the most strikes in 9 frames advances to the next match. This format usually produces rapid-fire action, so strap in and hold on.
On today's episode, we also introduce a brand new camera angle, as we took delivery this week on our Intellistage camera platform that was purchased as a result of those generous PRODIGY viewers who contributed to our GoFundMe fundraiser campaign (GoFundMe.com/prodigy-bowlers-tour). So a big thanks to those nice people, as the new angle, higher than we've ever been able to position the camera before, looks great!
As always, your comments are welcome. But we must insist that you keep those comments positive. Remember, the mission of PRODIGY BOWLERS TOUR is to Celebrate Junior Bowling while we Elevate Junior Bowlers. So if your comment is merely an attempt to insult of demean one of our bowlers, it will be deleted. Criticism is welcome as long as it is helpful, not hurtful. Thanks for your understanding. We're not looking to beat anyone down; we want to lift them up.
Oh, to anyone who spots the mistake in the graphics at the beginning where the first game scores are listed and Logan F.'s score is shown as 193+30=193, that's obviously an error. He bowled 163, not 193. But he did win his first match, so he got the 30 bonus pins. So that gives him 193 (163+30=193). So the total is correct as shown. But it's a type-o on the score he shot that game. Sorry. Wish I had a dollar for every little type-o I've made on this show in the last year and a half.
As always, your play-by-play voice on PRODIGY BOWLERS TOUR is USBC Silver Certified Coach and former PBA member Randy Brown, who also serves as Executive Producer of PRODIGY BOWLERS TOUR. Oh yes, and we also have a special guest commentator sitting in with Coach Randy on the call during Match 3 today.
Next week, (2/10/2018), we expect to be back at our usual home center, Brunswick Zone Roswell. But if you bowl youth league in the Atlanta metro area and would be interested in having PRODIGY come film an episode at your bowling center, have your Youth Director get in touch with Coach Randy by emailing him at randy(at)prodigybowlerstour.com.
Thanks, too, to our hosts this week at AMF Woodstock. You guys were great and we really enjoyed coming over to your center. Let's do it again sometime soon.
We appreciate our viewers' support of PRODIGY BOWLERS TOUR. We recently crossed the 8,000 subscribers threshold, and are very grateful to all our viewers who watch the show. PRODIGY BOWLERS TOUR -- 01-20-2018 TAJ MAHAL OPEN
PRODIGY BOWLERS TOUR -- Episode 49 -- Recorded January 20, 2018 for release on January 23, 2018. TAJ MAHAL OPEN.
One of our bigger fields as 21 kids -- 17 Bigs and 4 Littles -- went to the starting gate in a two-game qualifier trying to make the show. The top 2 Littles advanced to a Championship Match, and the top 5 Bigs advanced to a full, four-match stepladder. So on this week's show, a total of FIVE matches (instead of the usual four). It's an action-packed episode of PRODIGY as several new faces bowled in this week's qualifier and two made the show as first-timers.
Plus, the potential of a PRODIGY first! We've had two brothers win on PRODIGY before as Matt and Nick have both claimed championships on the show. But they won on different dates. On today's show, with two divisions -- the Bigs and the Littles -- two brothers, one in each division, are in the field and will by trying to become the first brothers ever to both win on PRODIGY on the same show.
USBC Silver Certified Coach Randy Brown is your play-by-play voice. This episode was shot at Brunswick Zone Roswell in Roswell, Georgia.
Our field was comprised of 21 kids from these bowling centers:
5 from Brunswick Zone Roswell
8 from Brunswick Zone Lilburn
4 from AMF Woodstock
2 from Stars and Strikes Woodstock
1 from Stars and Strikes Cumming
1 from Brunswick Zone National (in Augusta, Georgia)
As always, your comments are welcome. But we must insist that you keep your remarks positive. We will not tolerate negative comments aimed at insulting or degrading any of these kids. Remember, the mission of PRODIGY BOWLERS TOUR is to Celebrate Junior Bowling while we Elevate Junior Bowlers. If you have a criticsim of one of these young people, make it in a way that is helpful, not hurtful, and we'll all be good. Let's try to lift these kids up, not beat them down.

PRODIGY BOWLERS TOUR -- 01-27-2018 SWISS OPEN
PRODIGY BOWLERS TOUR -- Episode 50 -- Swiss Open -- Recorded January 27, 2018 for release on January 30, 2018. Filmed at Brunswick Zone Roswell in Roswell, Georgia, a northern suburb of the metro Atlanta area.
On this week's episode of PRODIGY BOWLERS TOUR, eighteen kids began the day with hopes of qualifying for the 5-player stepladder finals. But first they had to survive the most grueling qualifying round yet on PRODIGY. This week's format was one that's quite popular in the Pacific Northwest and Las Vegas, but is mostly unknown to bowlers here in the Southeast. It's called a Swiss, and here's how it works:
In a Swiss, each game bowled is Match Play, meaning two players are going head-to-head for the win. For the first match, the pairings are done by random draw. Then, all subsequent games are bowled as a Position Round, which means the player in 1st place bowls against the player in 2nd place, 3rd against 4th, 5th against 6th, and so forth. The PRODIGY kids bowled a 3-game Swiss qualifier, and 30 bonus pins were awarded for winning a match. So there was a potential 90 bonus pins available to any player or players who could win all three of their matches. A players total pins for three games plus any bonus pins they were awarded served as their qualifying score. Once the third game of qualifying was finished, we cut the field to the top 5 players and seeded them into the stepladder finals, which you'll see on today's show.
Your play-by-play announcer is USBC Silver Certified Coach and former PBA member Randy Brown, a 2009 inductee in the Texas Radio Hall of Fame. Coach Randy is also the Volunteer Youth Director at Brunswick Zone Roswell, the home center for PRODIGY BOWLERS TOUR and the site of today's episode.
As always, we welcome your comments. But please, we must insist that you keep your comments about the kids positive. Criticism is fine as long as it's done in a spirit of helpfulness, not hurtfulness. If all you have to offer is a snide or insulting remark about the kids, your comment will be removed. But if you have a critique that they can use to help improve their play, such comments are always welcome. Remember, the mission of PRODIGY BOWLERS TOUR is to Celebrate Junior Bowling while we Elevate Junior Bowlers. We want to lift these kids up and help them get better, not beat them down and insult them.
The producer wishes to thank all our viewers. In the past week, this channel crossed the 8,000 subscribers threshold, and for that we're enormously grateful. Oh, and a reminder: If you're interested in bowling with us this weekend, February 3, 2018, please note that we will NOT be taping PRODIGY on that date at our usual location, Brunswick Zone Roswell. They have a special event scheduled on that date and we couldn't guarantee that PRODIGY would be finished in time. So on February 3, 2018, we'll be taping PRODIGY at AMF WOODSTOCK in Woodstock, Georgia. So if you're a youth bowler and plan to be in the area on February 3, 2018 at 12:30 PM, we invite you to come bowl with us.

This is the final episode of PRODIGY BOWLERS TOUR Season 3, and we're really going out with a bang. It's our first-ever episode of PRODIGY that features just the pint-size prodigies!
This show is so special, we had SIX kids travel from all across the country just to come to Roswell, Georgia to bowl with us. They came from the San Francisco Bay Area, from Kingston, New York, from up around Grand Rapids, Michigan and Detroit Michigan, one came from near Charlotte, North Carolina, and still another was on his way home to Jacksonville, Florida from Junior Gold in Detroit and stopped off along the way just to bowl with us. In fact, this week's show marks a milestone in PRODIGY lore: It's the first time ever we actually had more visitors in the field than local kids from the Atlanta area.
So with that many miles logged just to get here, I couldn't help but adapt the format to make sure everyone made the show. So today, you're going to see a unique format we've never quite done before. All eleven kids make the stepladder, with each match being decided in a five-frame game...except the Championship Match, which goes a full ten frames.
It's a LITTLE-PALOOZA as nothing but little kids invade your screen this week on a very special edition of PRODIGY BOWLERS TOUR!
Oh, and remember to stick around to see the Junior Gold scoring update after the Championship Match when we let you know how some of the PRODIGY kids fared in Detroit. Plus, there are some pretty fun surprises in the closing credits that I think you'll enjoy.
As usual, your play-by-play announcer is USBC Silver Certified Coach Randy Brown, who also serves as the Volunteer Youth Director at Bowlero Roswell.
As always, your comments are welcome. But we do insist that you keep your comments positive. Remember, the mission of PRODIGY BOWLERS TOUR is to Celebrate Junior Bowling and Elevate Junior Bowlers. So if you keep your critiques HELPFUL and not HURTFUL, then it's all good.

PRODIGY BOWLERS TOUR -- 01-14-2017
Our biggest and best episode yet! (And the longest one so far, clocking in at one hour and 22 minutes.) In fact, this latest episode of Prodigy Bowlers Tour sports the largest field of players we've featured to date, as seven kids stayed after junior league on January 14th, 2017 to try their hand at competing. Two of them were first-timers on the Prodigy Bowlers Tour. You'll be on the edge of your seat, as every match ends with a close finish.
Plus, this is our first episode to be recorded since the arrival of The Coveted Trophy Pin. And while we went back and had all the kids who had previously won this season sign the pin, today's winner will be the first to actually get to sign the pin immediately upon winning, which will be the custom from now on. (It's kind of a fun moment to see our winner sign the pin at the end of the show.)
Oh, and yes, your friendly bowling announcer (and producer of the show) also spent some time over the holidays creating some new graphics to help elevate the production values of the show, and this episode marks the first time anyone will see them.
So sit back and enjoy the show. Yes, all 82 minutes of it. :-)
Oh, and thanks to all our subscribers, viewers and friends of the channel for taking the time to watch our videos and pushing us over the 1,000 subscribers landmark over the Christmas/New Year's holiday break. (We've since added anothere 400+ subscribers in just the two weeks since the holiday break, with more coming in every day. Thanks! You guys ROCK!) SHOW NOTES:
On this week's PRODIGY, for the first time ever, we flip the script and begin the show with the Scratch Division stepladder finals. Then, we turn our attention to today's main event, the Handicap Division stepladder. Because, you see, for the first time ever, we actually had more handicap bowlers in the field this week than we had scratch players. Besides, it's the holiday season, and it just seemed like the right thing to do to give our lower average players a shot at being in the spotlight for a change. And as I think you'll agree, they did not disappoint.
As always, your comments are welcome. But we must insist that you keep your comments positive. Remember, the mission of PRODIGY BOWLERS TOUR is to Celebrate Junior Bowling while we Elevate Junior Bowlers. If you're only here to insult or diss our junior bowlers, your comments will be removed. But if you keep your remarks helpful, not hurtful, then everything will be A-OK. Remember, the kids that appear on the show are not the only ones who watch and read the comments left here. Their parents and families do, too. Be nice.
Your play-by-play monkey is USBC Silver Certified Coach and former PBA player Randy Brown. Randy serves as the Volunteer Youth Director at Brunswick Zone Roswell in Roswell, Georgia, a northern suburb of the greater Atlanta metro area. He is also the creator and executive producer of PRODIGY BOWLERS TOUR. And yes, he responds to most comments left here. (He's the one posting under the name Brownswick Bowling.)

PRODIGY BOWLERS TOUR -- 01-28-2017
Our most exciting episode of PRODIGY BOWLERS TOUR yet, as three new faces appear on the show, including two visitors from another bowling center. All in all, a total of eight kids go at it -- six from Brunswick Zone Roswell, and our two visitors from Stars and Strikes in Cumming, GA. Every match comes down to the final frame, either to see who makes the cut or to see who wins. Some really good bowling on this show! Enjoy. USBC Bronze Certified Coach and former PBA member Coach Randy Brown on the play-by-play.
Feel free to leave comments, but keep them constructive for the kids. If all you have to offer are insults or profanity, your comment(s) will be removed. Play nice. We're trying to teach kids how to bowl while we grow the sport. Remember the motto of the show: Celebrating Junior Bowling while Elevating Junior Bowlers. Try to keep your comments within the spirt of that motto, okay? Insulting kids is not helpful, and it does nothing to grow the sport of bowling. All it does is send a signal to junior bowlers everywhere that there are jerks in the world who have nothing better to do than make fun of children. Get a clue. However, if you have constructive suggestions for our kids' games, your comments are encouraged. (Even if they're misguided, at least they'll be coming from a place where you're trying to be helpful, which is always welcome.)

PRODIGY BOWLERS TOUR -- 05-12-2018 -- ROSWELL VARSITY & JV LEAGUE CHAMPIONSHIP STEPLADDERS
PRODIGY BOWLERS TOUR -- EPISODE 61
Recorded May 12, 2018 for release on May 13, 2018.
Roswell Varsity and Junior Varsity Leagues' Championship Stepladders
--
It's a SPECIAL EDITION of PRODIGY BOWLERS TOUR this week, as, for the first time ever, we bring you the team stepladders in both the Roswell Varsity and Roswell Junior Varsity leagues to crown the season's League Champions in both leagues.
Unlike most leagues, which crown their league champions at the end of the season by holding a position round (yawn!), here at Brunswick Zone Roswell in Roswell, Georgia, we add a bit of drama to the final day of league by holding a team stepladder finals in both of our youth leagues.
The top 4 teams in both leagues (there are only 4 teams in the Junior Varsity, and 8 teams in the Varsity) qualify for this unique playoff format. In the first match, the #4 seeded team bowls a one-game match against the #3 seeded team. The winner of that match advances to the semi-final to bowl a one-game match against the #2 seeded team. And the winner of that semi-final moves on to bowl the #1 seeded team for the League Championship.
For the first time ever on PRODIGY BOWLERS TOUR, we've widened out our camera angle to show you TWO adjacent pairs of lanes. On the left pair (lanes 31 and 32), you'll see the ROSWELL JUNIOR VARSITY team stepladder. While on the pair of lanes to your right (lanes 33 and 34), you'll see the team stepladder for the ROSWELL VARSITY.
And best of all, you'll get to see several kids who don't usually stay after league to bowl PRODIGY with us, especially some of our littlest bowlers!
Because we're showing you 4 lanes instead of just 2, the action happens fast and is constantly coming at you. So you won't get the usual camera moves that follow the ball down the lane with each throw, as is customary on all previous episodes of PRODIGY BOWLERS TOUR. With this many balls being thrown all at the same time, you'd get seasick watching that sort of chaos play out on your screen. And by widening out the shot to show all four lanes, we've also brought into view the overhead scoreboards that the players see inside the bowling center. So you also won't be getting the usual scoring graphics at the bottom of the screen that you've become accustomed to on PRODIGY BOWLERS TOUR. So this episode's production is pretty much bare bones, kind of like you'd see on most live streams. But Coach Randy is along for the ride to provide you with a play-by-play description of what's happening as it unfolds, and to introduce you to some of the players with whom you aren't yet familiar. Some of these younger kids may one day be the PRODIGIES you follow on the show, so you'll be getting a sneak peak into the future!
As always, your comments are welcome. But we ask that you keep those comments positive and helpful, not negative and hurtful. These are, after all, kids. And they're not the only ones who watch and read these comments -- their parents do, too. Remember, the mission of PRODIGY BOWLERS TOUR is to Celebrate Junior Bowling while we Elevate Junior Bowlers. Keep your comments in that spirit and we won't have any problems. Comments left that are intentially insulting or hurtful will be removed, and in certain extreme situations, the user may be blocked from posting to this channel again. A word to the wise: Be supportive of these kids, not a hater.

PRODIGY BOWLERS TOUR -- 6-24-2017 'GOOD LUCK WITH THAT'
*** PLEASE NOTE: If you don't want the viewing experience spoiled, don't read the comments before watching the show. Comments are welcome, but please remember that mean-spirited comments meant to insult or demean the kids who appear on the show will be removed. ***
It's the latest PRODIGY BOWLERS TOUR episode, and kids from all over the Atlanta area and across the state of Georgia came to challenge our Roswell regulars to see who could advance to the stepladder finals. A two-game qualifier winnowed the field down to five. But the real challenge on this day was the oil pattern. The lane machine told us it was a 2016 Junior Gold pattern, but it didn't say which one. We think it's short oil. But before PRODIGY began, the kids participated in a spare clinic, and the TV pair had two hours' worth of plastic balls being thrown at spared, creating a huge amount of carry-down. That mean that with the short oil, the ball would hook early, but then flatten out on the back third of the lane. It was the most challenging oil pattern the kids have faced yet on PRODIGY, and the scores -- and some of the crazy leaves -- show it. Strap in. This is one of the wildest PRODIGY episodes yet. USBC Silver Certified Coach and former PBA player Randy Brown has the play-by-play call.

PRODIGY BOWLERS TOUR -- 04-01-2017 BOSS RADIO
The kids have come from all over the state to bowl in this week's PRODIGY BOWLERS TOUR event, as we have visitors from as far away as Columbus and Augusta, as well as a couple of locals from Stars and Strikes and our first visitor from Brunswick Zone Lilburn. And one of our visitors has made the stepladder finals. The kids bowled three games of qualifying, throwing out their low game, just to get here. Now, let's see which one can get to the finish line and put their name on The Coveted Trophy Pin.
PROGRAMMING NOTE: PRODIGY WILL BE OFF NEXT WEEK, as our league will not be bowling on April 8th because most of our kids will be in Columbus, GA bowling in the Georgia State Pepsi Tournament. Plus, our bowling center is booked the weekend of April 15th, so our kids will be off that day, too. (There is a chance I may try to find an alternate location to film a PRODIGY show on the 15th, but can't promise it at this time.) So this could be our last PRODIGY episode until our likely next taping on April 22nd. Coach Randy has the play-by-play call.
