ON a fine September morning we take a walk across the River Liffey and over into the Temple Bar section of the old town center and up to Christ Church Cathedral. Then over to Dublin Castle, on to St. Stephen's Green, through Trinity College, and back to O'Connel St.
Dublin is an amazing place, full of history, architecture, and pubs. The foods not to bad either though hotels and accommodation is a bit expensive. I had several pints of Guinness while there but also tried several other Irish beers which were even better. As far as food and what to eat goes, my favorite was Irish Stew and also Lamb. I lucked out on the weather and our several days there were all sunny to partly cloudy but it can get rainy.
There's a bit more talking in this one and I apologize for the bumpy gimbal. It broke literally seconds after I pushed stop on the camera. I think I have it fixed now and hope to get a couple more towns and cities before we leave Ireland. I hope you enjoy this free walking tour Dublin.
Dublin, capital of the Republic of Ireland, is on Ireland’s east coast at the mouth of the River Liffey. Its historic buildings include Dublin Castle, dating to the 13th century, and imposing St Patrick’s Cathedral, founded in 1191. City parks include landscaped St Stephen’s Green and huge Phoenix Park, containing Dublin Zoo. The National Museum of Ireland explores Irish heritage and culture.
There are a lot of short tours of ireland that leave from dublin and other guided tours of ireland.

Dublin remains the city of James Joyce and his magnum opus Ulysses, which has changed literature as much as Picasso did for the art. And Dublin is the city with musicians on each corner of the street!

James Joyce - Ulysses: Molly Bloom's Soliloquy, The Last 50 Lines
Angeline Ball in her IFTA Award winning role as Molly Bloom from the film Bloom. Official site of the film is ulysses.ie
Joycean scholar David Norris said that she is quite the best of all the myriad of Molly Blooms that I have seen. While Charles Byrne of the Royal Television Society declared that, This Molly Bloom would even make Sharon Stone blush. Angeline Ball was born to play the role. She is voluptuous and earthy and, in short, she is every living man's fantasy.

James Joyce's Dublin,1904 with photographs from the William Lawrence Collection.IFI Film.
This poetic short film uses Robert French photographs from the William Lawrence Collection held in the National Library, to illustrate the Dublin of 1904 which served as a backdrop to James Joyce’s Ulysses.
Directed by renowned drama and documentary maker Kieran Hickey in 1968, the film traces Joyce’s childhood and adolescence, and his meeting with Nora Barnacle on June 10th, 1904.
The film conjures up the Dublin of 1904, a city of trams and horse-drawn carriages, of sailing ships and barges on the Liffey, and of lively bandstands filled with summer music. It provides a fine illustration of the Dublin through which Joyce’s fictional Leopold Bloom wandered on June 16th 1904 (the date now celebrated annually as Bloomsday). The music in the film references some of Joyce’s favourite songs many of which appear in Ulysses.
