Canada's Mighty Kings of Canadian metal make their third visit to Perth Ontario for the Perth Metal Meltdown 2008. Organized by Scott Wark from the band JOE THRASHER and The Gore St. Flea Market ...... Anvil was smoking live and we were all looking forward to their setlist.
This was also the first day of The Stewart Park Music Festival .... the humidity was high and their was severe thunderstorms passing through,..... that the park had to cancel the evening music performances,..... but ANVIL was inside and we had no problem and a packed house of close to 300 people.
Other bands on the bill: JOE THRASHER, DRILLPOINT, AGGRESSOR, AXIOM .... Thanks for making this show a total success
Camera work was handled by Andrew Weir from Perth Ontario,.... Andrew did a great job with his Sony handycam with 120X zoom. Lips, Robb & G5 are as clear as can be, no distortion.

In this video, we tour the incredible 28sqm (301sqft) apartment of architect Douglas Wan. The Melbourne apartment was originally constructed in the 1950's as housing for nurses. It’s now been completely reimagined for modern times and transformed into a clever small studio.

For Douglas, this was an opportunity to develop a small living space that would perfectly fit his needs and lifestyle. Attracted to simple living and a self described monastic lifestyle, he wanted to create a place where he could be a part of the city, yet also retreat from it. He ventured to carry out an architectural experiment and find out what was possible in his own small home.

The result is a micro apartment which is as clever as it is simple. One which utilises the entire space, while remaining open and light. It’s rustic history is celebrated, yet also contrasted with the modern elements. Most importantly, it’s a wonderful home.

A little story behind this song,.. which is why it is my favorite off Forged, one evening back in 1985 my father taking me to the Great War Memorial hospital in Perth Ontario ...... for 5 stitches in my head because I had MOTORMOUNT cranked on the stereo in the basement & I was going full throttle on the air guitar and head banging ...... thats when my head connected to the corner of the speaker cabinet and an instant fred flinstone style bump appeared .. I was real fucken dizzy .. and then had the feeling of throwing up, there was blood .. man,.....what a fucken bump,....green, blue and purple, mixed with red.. .... the doctor on call was mind boggled.......the next time you see,.. please ask to see the scar on my right top forhead above my eye

On September 27, La Bohème hit the road on a cross-Canada tour kicking things off in Banff, Alberta. They'll be performing in bars across Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Yukon and Ontario, then landing in Toronto for a two-week residency.
Presented by Against the Grain Theatre, Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity and CBC Arts, we'll be livestreaming La Bohème straight to your living room (or cell phone). Think the Metropolitan Opera's Live in HD but scrappier. The La Bohème broadcast will be hosted by CBC's Lindsay Michael, co-host and producer of Podcast Playlist and a trained opera singer herself.
La Bohème follows a group of young artists through life, love and loss. Rodolfo (Marcel d'Entremont), is an aspiring screenplay writer who falls in love with Mimì (Jonelle Sills), a florist and sewing enthusiast. Meanwhile their friend Marcello (Clarence Frazer), an OCAD U-trained illustrator, is in an on-and-off again relationship with his flirty, unfaithful sweetheart, Musetta (Danika Lorèn). La Bohème is directed by AtG founder and artistic director Joel Ivany with music director David Eliakis at the piano.
