Mother's Day Celebration at Suan Amporn
BANGKOK, 9 August 2014 (NNT) - The National Council for Peace and Order (NCPO) is hosting a series of activities to mark Her Majesty the Queen’s 82nd birthday anniversary. The events are being held from August 9th to 10th at Suan Amporn, Dusit Palace, Sanam Luang under the theme “Mother: the Great Giver”. Exhibitions will illustrate Her Majesty’s commitment to royal projects including her mission to provide social welfare and medical support to those in remote rural areas, and her establishment of The SUPPORT Foundation.
Musical performances and light and sound shows will also be held. A small garden will be arranged as a model food bank at the ceremonial ground, to reflect Her Majesty’s commitment to creating more sources of food to ensure that the peoples' basic needs are met.
People expressed much enjoyment as they are visiting booths and taking pictures during the event while also appreciating what H.M. the Queen has done for the Thai people.
During the fair, well-known artists will perform at Suan Amporn and there will be a free screening of a film to celebrate the love of Her Majesty for the people of Thailand, available for viewing at Dusit Palace.
Members of the public are also invited to donate money to help build a principle Buddhist statue to commemorate Her Majesty’s 84th birthday in 2016, which is considered an important milestone.
This once a year event runs only until August 10 here at Suan Amporn, Dusit Palace, Sanam Luang, and people are invited to come and enjoy the special atmosphere. Lastly, the organizing committee for Mother’s Day activities has invited the public to display national flags, along with flags bearing the initials of Her Majesty in front of their houses to show gratitude to their beloved Queen from now until the end of August.

Dance Displays At Thailand Tourism Festival 2019
A colourful display of dancers in traditional costume at the Thailand Tourism Festival 2019 in central Bangkok today. The parade featured ancient costumes from different historical periods - and even had dancers spinning round on hover-board scooters.
Hosted by the Tourism Authority of Thailand, the festival is designed to encourage tourism in the country throughout the year and motivate Thais to discover more about the land of their birth.
Tourism boss Yuthasak Supasorn said: ''This festival has played a long and important role in encouraging domestic tourism since its days at Suan Amporn and now at Lumpini Park.
''We hold it at the beginning of the year so that people can start planning their trips early. This year’s event will, as usual, feature a variety of foods, products and performances from all regions of the country in order to promote, inspire and help motivate everyone to travel. More than 600,000 local and foreign visitors visited last year’s event, which generated Bt390 million of income.''

Khao Tum Chockanun Pattaya Issan Food Restaurant
I love Pattaya and the diverse restaurants but when it come to Thai food it's nowhere near as good as Bangkok. However, there is a restaurant I've been going to for years which is on par with Khao Sun Kwan in Bangkok for Issan food. It was 16:30 and I think we were the first customers but come 7pm in the evening this place gets full of Thais.

One of my favorite ways to Eat a whole fish by grilling it the Thai way, is YUMMY..!! On the streets of Thailand you'll find Pla Pao (ปลาเผา), or Thai grilled / roasted fish, all over the places. It's a common meal, and especially goes well with a plate of som tam (green papaya salad) and a couple of baskets of fresh sticky rice.
For this Thai grilled fish recipe (pla pao ปลาเผา), here I pictured the most common types of fish which you'll find on the streets of Thailand: In the US we can find the same fish at the Asian supermarket.
Along with the fish itself, one of the most important components of a Thai pla pao is the seafood sauce, which in Thai is known as nam jim seafood. The sauce is pretty simple to make, but it has so much incredible flavor from the garlic, chilies, and fish sauce.
Get all the details for this Thai grilled fish street food recipe (pla pao ปลาเผา) right here:
cooking oil
garlic & ginger
yellow onions
green & red bell pepper
dried red chili
pineapple chunks
pineapple juice
vinegar
Tomato Catsup
Rice Wine
Oyster Sauce
Light Soy Sauce
Sugar
Tapioca Starch
Sesame Oil
Hot Chili Sauce
This Thai grilled fish street food recipe (pla pao ปลาเผา) should take about 15 or 20 minutes to get everything ready, and then it will need to be on the grill cooking for about 45 minutes to 1 hour, depending on how hot your fire is, and how big your fish are.
For the sauce seafood
6 tablespoons fresh lime juice
3 tablespoons water
2 tablespoons fish sauce
1 tablespoon sugar
½ teaspoon of salt
15 cloves of garlic
20 Thai bird chilies (prik kee noo suan พริกขี้หนูสวน)
To help you out, here’s a list of the most popular street food dishes with Thai translations:
Som Tam (ส้มตำ) – Papaya salad
Khao Pad (ข้าวผัด) – Fried Rice Pad
Thai Kung (ผัดไทยกุ้ง) – Noodles with shrimp
Khao Mun Gai (ข้าวมันไก่) - Steamed chicken on rice
Gai/Moo Bing (ไก่/หมูปิ้ง) - Grilled chicken/pork skewers
Sai Krok Issan (ไส้กรอกอีสาน) - Sour Issan sausage
Pad krapao moo (ผัดกระเพราหมู) - Stir-fried pork with basil
Pla Pao (ปลาเผา) - Fish barbecued in salt
thanks

SUMMARY
=======
Bangkok is the capital and most populous city of Thailand. It is known in Thai as Krung Thep Maha Nakhon or simply Krung Thep. The city occupies 1,568.7 square kilometres (605.7 sq mi) in the Chao Phraya River delta in central Thailand, and has a population of over eight million, or 12.6 percent of the country's population. Over fourteen million people (22.2 percent) lived within the surrounding Bangkok Metropolitan Region at the 2010 census, making Bangkok the nation's primate city, significantly dwarfing Thailand's other urban centres in terms of importance.
Bangkok traces its roots to a small trading post during the Ayutthaya Kingdom in the 15th century, which eventually grew and became the site of two capital cities: Thonburi in 1768 and Rattanakosin in 1782. Bangkok was at the heart of the modernization of Siam, later renamed Thailand, during the late-19th century, as the country faced pressures from the West. The city was at the centre of Thailand's political struggles throughout the 20th century, as the country abolished absolute monarchy, adopted constitutional rule, and underwent numerous coups and several uprisings. The city grew rapidly during the 1960s through the 1980s and now exerts a significant impact on Thailand's politics, economy, education, media and modern society. The Asian investment boom in the 1980s and 1990s led many multinational corporations to locate their regional headquarters in Bangkok. The city is now a regional force in finance and business. It is an international hub for transport and health care, and has emerged as a centre for the arts, fashion, and entertainment. The city is known for its street life and cultural landmarks, as well as its red-light districts. The Grand Palace and Buddhist temples including Wat Arun and Wat Pho stand in contrast with other tourist attractions such as the nightlife scenes of Khaosan Road and Patpong. Bangkok is among the world's top tourist destinations, and has been named the world's most visited city in several rankings.
Bangkok's rapid growth coupled with little urban planning has resulted in a haphazard cityscape and inadequate infrastructure. An inadequate road network, despite an extensive expressway network, together with substantial private car usage, have led to chronic and crippling traffic congestion, which caused severe air pollution in the 1990s. The city has since turned to public transport in an attempt to solve the problem. Five rapid transit lines are now in operation, with more systems under construction or planned by the national government and the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration.
