You might not know who Arjan Roskam is, but you've probably smoked his weed. Arjan's been breeding some of the most famous marijuana strains in the world—like White Widow, Super Silver Haze, and many others—for over 20 years.
In 1992 he opened his first coffee shop in Amsterdam and has since crafted his marijuana-breeding skills into a market-savvy empire known as Green House Seed Company, which rakes in millions of dollars a year.
He's won 38 Cannabis Cups and has dubbed himself the King of Cannabis.
VICE joins Arjan and his crew of strain hunters in Colombia to look for three of the country's rarest types of weed, strains that have remained genetically pure for decades. In grower's terms, these are called landraces. We trudge up mountains and crisscross military checkpoints in the country's still-violent south, and then head north to the breathtaking Caribbean coast. As the dominoes of criminalization fall throughout the world, Arjan is positioned to be at the forefront of the legitimate international seed trade.

Hoy en día, la escuela y la educación son conceptos ampliamente discutidos en foros académicos, políticas públicas, instituciones educativas, medios de comunicación y espacios de la sociedad civil.Desde su origen, la institución escolar ha estado caracterizada por estructuras y prácticas que hoy se consideran mayormente obsoletas y anacrónicas. Decimos que no acompañan las necesidades del Siglo XXI. Su principal falencia se encuentra en un diseño que no considera la naturaleza del aprendizaje, la libertad de elección o la importancia que tienen el amor y los vínculos humanos en el desarrollo individual y colectivo.
A partir de estas reflexiones críticas han surgido, a lo largo de los años, propuestas y prácticas que pensaron y piensan la educación de una forma diferente. La Educación Prohibida es una película documental que propone recuperar muchas de ellas, explorar sus ideas y visibilizar aquellas experiencias que se han atrevido a cambiar las estructuras del modelo educativo de la escuela tradicional.
Más de 90 entrevistas a educadores, académicos, profesionales, autores, madres y padres; un recorrido por 8 países de Iberoamérica pasando por 45 experiencias educativas no convencionales; más de 25.000 seguidores en las redes sociales antes de su estreno y un total de 704 coproductores que participaron en su financiación colectiva, convirtieron a La Educación Prohibida en un fenómeno único. Un proyecto totalmente independiente de una magnitud inédita, que da cuenta de la necesidad latente del crecimiento y surgimiento de nuevas formas de educación.
The Superhuman World of Wim Hof: The Iceman
Wim Hof first caught the attention of scientists when he proved he was able to use meditation to stay submerged in ice for 1 hour and 53 minutes without his core body temperature changing. Since then, he’s climbed Mount Everest in his shorts, resisted altitude sickness, completed a marathon in the Namib Desert with no water and proven under a laboratory setting that he’s able to influence his autonomic nervous system and immune system at will.
Almost everything Wim has done was previously thought to be impossible - but he’s not a freak of nature.
To demonstrate that any human can learn his methods, Wim offered to teach Matt Shea and Daisy-May Hudson to climb a freezing cold mountain in their shorts without getting cold. But when Matt and Daisy signed up for the training, they had no idea that the so-called Iceman was planning to lead them on a psychedelic journey across Europe that circled the chasm between science, spirituality and mystery.

A note on 'Ivan the Terrible' - in Russia, Ivan IV has the epithet 'Гро́зный' meaning 'Great' or 'Formidable'. So why is he known as Ivan 'the Terrible' in English? Because he was evil or useless or because of anti-Russian bias? No, because 'Terrible' in English also means awesome or formidable - this was well understood when 'Гро́зный' was first translated into English centuries ago, but now fewer people understand this. (see definitions 3 & 4 here: The name stuck, and Ivan IV has been known as Ivan the Terrible ever since.

The makers of this film also do not encourage the viewer to drink Ayahuasca. This film is not about this medicine plant. It is only mentioned in the beginning of this film whereby the narrator shares an experience. However the rest of the film does not focus on this plant. Attending an Ayahuasca ceremony is not for everyone and should be very carefully considered.
Since the release of this film, the filmmaker believes humanity’s collective consciousness has expanded considerably to make a significant collective change in the matrix template.

Our external reality is an expression of what we have collectively created together and we consider this to be REALITY.
Reality in this case means ‘OUR THOUGHTS REALISED’. So, yes, it is a form of reality indeed.
However, a lot of the realities we have created are not in harmony with our true being and planet earth. Western society is a slash and burn reality where what we take is not given back. This will eventually result in the exhaustion of resources of our planet.
The way we treat planet Earth is a result of how we treat ourselves and thus others.
We tend to think in a linear way and not in a cyclical way where what goes out comes back in and vise versa:
A dance between our internal eternal spirit and the physical external realm.
It is like we have become so mesmerized that we believe that the external world is all there is. We hang on to it for dear life and since we know our resources are finite, fear and greed put us into a constant survival mode.
In the mean time our true being is not integrated as much as is healthy for our wellbeing. It is like we walk around like zombies; cleverly reflected by the large amount of zombie movies that have come out over the past 10 years.
The film ‘Mind the Matrix’ looks at all this and with the help of various experts, hands the viewer tools on how to get back to our natural state of inner and outer harmony.
This is where global change will start. With ourselves. Once we have rediscovered the nature of who we really are, this will automatically be reflected outwards. Our ‘reality’ will then be adjusted all by itself.
By remaining focused outwards, we as humans may just get exhausted of trying for change and not seeing any.
Like Mahatma Gandhi said ‘Be the change that you want in the world’.

During the early 90s the G Funk style of hip-hop emerged from Los Angeles, combining melodic elements of Motown, Funk, and R&B with socially-aware gangsta rap. For the first time in history, a hip-hop album debuted at #1 on the pop charts and the genre became a staple of mainstream American culture. The movement began with Warren G, Snoop Dogg, and Nate Dogg. As childhood friends, the trio formed the group 213 and were discovered by Death Row Records. Plot:
After receiving a distress call, the USS Enterprise, commanded by Captain James T. Kirk (James Cawley), is assigned to investigate an intruder attacking the Primus IV colony. Once there, the crew encounters a strange alien life form that can produce visions of personal events displaced in time. These visions may hold the key to better understanding the threat they are about to encounter.
