Sudbury Hall and National Trust Museum of Childhood. June 2014
Had a really enjoyable time at Sudbury Hall and the Museum of Childhood. Sudbury Hall dates back to the 17th Century and was where the BBC's adaptation of Pride & Prejudice was filmed (1995), based on a novel by Jane Austen.
... The Museum of Childhood (start time 07:43) is adjacent to Sudbury Hall and houses interactive toys & games as well as a vast archive of childhood memories over the last century. Was wonderful to see the children of today mesmerized and captivated by a bygone age pre-internet and computers. My video is a mere fraction of what both have on offer, but gives you a flavour of the National Trust's historic site in Derbyshire. I'd thoroughly recommend you visit if you get the opportunity.

Here's a tip. Don't run your video camera off a cheap inverter when the camera's battery is flat. Buzz city! Fortunately there wasn't much sound anyway!

The Crown Inn - Marston Montgomery
The Crown Inn is situated in the quiet hamlet of Marston Montgomery. We are just off the A515, half way between Uttoxeter and Ashbourne and have easy access from the M6, A50 and the M1.
We are close to the Alton Towers, JCB World Headquarters, Uttoxeter Races, Doverage Clay Pigeon Shooting and the world's second most visited national park, the Peak District. Wether you are staying at the self-catering cottages in nearby Sommersal Herbert, visiting Sudbury Hall or fishing the River Dove at Norbury we are close by and look forward to welcoming you.
We have excellent, home cooked food and you can enjoy the balmy evenings on our terrace and watch the sun set - or in the winter sit by the open fire and join us for a friendly chat and drink in our cosy bar.

Charlecote Park (Warwickshire) 15.06.07
Filmed during extensive flooding from the River Avon, of the parkland adjacent. Charlecote Park is a grand 16th-century country house, surrounded by its own deer park, on the banks of the River Avon near Wellesbourne, about 4 miles east of Stratford-upon-Avon and 5.5 miles south of Warwick, Warwickshire, England. It has been administered by the National Trust since 1946 and is open to the public. It is a Grade I listed building.
Feelin' alive on the A515
Heading out to the Peak District, I often take the A515 Ashbourne Road to Sudbury. It's busy, but charming. On Good Friday, 22nd April 2011 it was a joy to the heart. It features one of the finest bits of downhill on a main road in Staffordshire.

Andy's Wild Adventures - Alton Village and the story of the Chained Oak
Today i took my camera to the village of Alton in Staffordshire to have a good look around this lovely area. There really is more to the village itself than just the theme park we all know. Beautiful views and walks, nice local pubs by rivers and lakes with stories behind each door. Some spooky, others told by mere idiots such as myself. We hope you enjoy the film and thank you as always to my good friend Phil for his lovely adaptation of the day.

A537 Chester Road, Macclesfield - Eastbound Front View with Rearview Mirror
The A537 runs for just over 20 miles (32.5km) mainly through Cheshire, from the A50 in Knutsford in the west, to the A54 near Buxton in the Peak District, via the town of Macclesfield.
The section west of Macclesfield runs from the affluent town of Knutsford through lowland Cheshire countryside and passes the small villages of Ollerton, Chelford and Henbury.
East of Macclesfield, the A537 is the famous Cat and Fiddle road as it meanders through the Peak District National Park. The road reaches its highest point adjacent to England's 2nd highest pub, the Cat and Fiddle. At 515m (1,690ft) above sea level, it's the highest road in Cheshire, the 2nd highest A-road in the Peak District, and the fourth highest in all of England. Its sharp turns and steep drops means it regularly ranks as the most dangerous road in England.
This video shows an eastbound journey along Chester Road, part of the A537 in Macclesfield, west of the town centre. It is available in three versions:

Derbyshire
Derbyshire (/ˈdɑrbɨʃər/ or /ˈdɑrbɪʃɪər/; abbreviated Derbys. or Derbs.) is a county in the East Midlands of England. A substantial portion of the Peak District National Park lies within Derbyshire. The southern extremity of the Pennine range of hills extends into the north of the county. The county contains part of the National Forest, and borders on Greater Manchester to the northwest, West Yorkshire to the north, South Yorkshire to the northeast, Nottinghamshire to the east, Leicestershire to the southeast, Staffordshire to the west and southwest and Cheshire also to the west. In 2003 the Ordnance Survey placed Church Flatts farm, near Coton in the Elms, as the furthest point from the sea in Great Britain.
The city of Derby is now a unitary authority area, but remains part of the ceremonial county of Derbyshire. The non-metropolitan county contains 30 towns with between 10,000 and 100,000 inhabitants. There is a large amount of sparsely populated agricultural upland: 75% of the population live in 25% of the area.
