Here’s a bit about their story ….
We’ve known each other since forever. We started off as rivals during our younger years to becoming the best of friends later on in life. It has been a long and beautiful journey knowing one another, sharing every joy and sorrow till one day we realized, we can’t live without each other. That moment on, we knew we were in love.
The rest is history.
We decided to have our R.O.M. on the 29th of December as it is a very significant date for both of us. Our anniversary. We had a small and simple ceremony with people closest to our hearts. We are very grateful to everyone who came to share our happiness with us. We will definitely cherish every single moment of the event for the rest of our lives.
Last but not least, our special Thanks to Jahga and Ela for allowing us to be a part of your day. Thank you for your trust in DIGIMAX Video Productions.

Our pretty bride Yi Cheng always imagined an intimate backyard affair for her wedding day so exchanging vows in the serene garden of Suffolk House with her nearest and dearest was a dream come true..
Suffoclk House - This is a very early 19th Century mansion built by the first British Governor. It is a splendid example of a Georgian Colonial mansion complete with large and airy verandas, high ceilings and elegant rooms. It was used as a location in the British drama Indian Summers. The house sits in a wooded neighbourhood that contains a number of early 20th Century villas built for British civil servants.
They chosen a quiet area surrounded by greeneries an old English-styled mansion for a simple and elegance ceremony and and only invited close friends and relatives. Followed by a western wedding reception at upstair - Penang Mansion Restaurant Suffolk House. It a very cool place to have events here. A place where their guests will remember their event.

Once home to the Islands founder, Francis Light owned the land that this house is located on and started his plantation here. The house was built shortly after Light's death by a future Governor and has seen many more Governors dine here over the last 200 years.

Until this Degustation Menu, I really only knew Penang as a local and street food haven or for its tapas. Then Dining Room at Macalister Mansion rocked my world and I realised that I had really been missing out during my past couple of trips to Penang! Chef Johnson Wong sits at the helm of this amazing restaurant and his passion is palpable. He and his team serve up an inventive menu, often served in truly creative vessels, that is fresh and cheering, and paired to perfection with wine from around the world.
About Chef Johnson Wong:
He graduated from Le Cordon Bleu Sydney, where he started his career learning French cuisine. After that Chef Johnson moved on to modern Australian cuisine and later to Dubai to work alongside an Italian executive chef. From there to a 3 Michelin Star restaurant in Macau, then Denmark, and finally Paris. His CV reads like the gastronomic tour of our dreams! Now he’s back in Malaysia, in his first role at Macalister Mansion.

MALAYSIA: The Colours of Penang
Penang State is on the NW coast of Malaysia. Penang Island is within the State and it is listed as UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Capt. Francis Light was the founder of the British Colony Penang. He built the Fort Cornwallis and lived in his pepper estate house called The Suffolk (Gregorian style). It has lately been converted to a museum and
restaurant.
China Nationalist Leader, late Dr Sun Yat Sen, had a base in Penang which is now a museum.
The renowned Chinese businessman-politician Cheong Fatt Tze lived in Penang and his mansion is also known as The Blue Mansion, is a living museum. It is partly converted to a hotel.
Several Chinese immigrated in 1800's built the temple-like Clans Houses e.g. Khoo Kongsi & Cheah Kongsi amongst all incl. Chew Clans who established Chew Jetty.
The early Armenian businessmen built the colonial-styled hotel called the E&O not far from Fort Cornwallis. The seafacing hotel has been passed on to their present descendants who have expanded it.
The descendants of the early immigrants still live in Penang. They are the Chinese, Jewish, Armenians, Achehnese, Arab, Bugis, Thai, Burmese, Germans, Portuguese, Dutch, Indians/Chetty, Italians and the Peranakan Communities in different ethnics who live harmoniously. The main population comprises Chinese, Malay & Indian.
Penang Island is renowned for its foods ranging from hawker foods that are prepared by different ethnics to restaurants that serve international cuisines. The most popular ones are Char Koay Teow (spicy fried noodles with prawns & clams) and Asam Laksa (spicy tamarind juice with prawn paste soup noodles topped-up with minced fish)
Various international chain-hotel/resorts are located along the beach areas. Many food stalls/shops open till late as normally, people who retired from their night outings as late as 2-3am would go for supper before they call it a night.
The island is a sort after holiday destination whilst it is a preferred choice for the domestic and foreign corporate companies for hosting MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conventions & Exhibitions) events on the island. Its Int'l Airport has bagged some awards such as Best Emerging Airport (ASIA) & Airport of The Year.
It is easy to go around the island and the Island Tour is one of most popular tour programmes. The City Sight-Seeing Tour conducted by trishaw is another delightful experience. Public transports are plenty.
Penang is hilly and it boasts of bountiful greenery, heritage, nature parks, wildlife, sandy beaches, culture, foods, colonial & prewar buildings, star-rating hotels & resorts and its year-round festivals.

There is a small isle which is easily accessible by boat called Pulau Jerejak. After WW2, It was a sanatorium for tubercolosis and a leprosarium for Leprosy.
In 1969, it was set up as a Rehab Centre for max. security prison and hence earned the name as The Alcatraz Malaysia. It was closed in 1996.
Today, Pulau Jerejak is a Resort & Spa.
