Sugar Mill Ruins ~ New Smyrna Beach FL ~ By Drone
May 27, 2014 ~ The New Smyrna Sugar Mill Ruins (also known as the Cruger and DePeyster Sugar Mill) is a historic site in New Smyrna Beach, Florida, at 600 Old Mission Road. On August 12, 1970, it was added to the U.S. National Register of Historic Places.
In 1830 a steam sugar and saw mill were erected at this site. 5 years later the mills and other buildings were destroyed by Indians. The site was further altered by soldiers who were garrisoned there to keep an eye over the Seminoles.

The New Smyrna Beach Sugar Mill Ruins - (with birds)
PLEASE SUBSCRIBE ! AdamTheWoo.com - The historical site in New Smyrna Beach is almost 200 years old and features large loud birds which scared me a tad bit. This video is shorter than most simply because a local keep bothering me while I filmed asking me what I was doing. Got some great stares while talking to my camera.

Cruger-Depeyster Sugar Mill Ruins - New Smyrna
In much the same condition as the other sugar mill ruins on the northeast Florida coast, these belonged to the Cruger-dePeyster Plantation and were built in the early 19th century and were in operation for less than five years before being destroyed by the indians in the Second Seminole War. Only recently it was discovered to have been a former sugar mill, for most of the time since its destruction and abandonment local citizens believed it to be alternatively a convent, a monastery, a church though no evidence existed at that time to support these suppositions.
