東日本大震災で被災した旧水郷佐原水生植物園が再整備され、
2017年4月「水郷佐原あやめパーク」の名称でリニューアルオープン。
400種類150万本ものハナショウブが咲き、園内舟巡りも楽しむことができます。
ペット同伴も可能となっています。

一个人在成田的时候去了佐原。搭地铁没有很远，不过从地铁站走到目的地很远啊。一路上是没有什么路牌的，就靠直觉了。那天下雨又刮大风，还真的差点把我吹走 - 所以我的相机都捉不稳了，救命～ 路途经过一间超市，快快钻进去避风。这个小镇，车少人更少，建筑物古色古香，我太喜欢了！本来计划要骑脚踏车去看花的，结果雨一直下个不停。我一定还会再来圆了这个梦的哈，后会有期 ????
From JR Narita Station I ride a 29 minutes train to JR Sawara Station. Round ticket cost ¥1,000 valid for 2 days. 0941 journey started at Platform 5 for train heading to Choshi 銚子, and reached Sawara at 1010. It was a bad day, heavy rain with strong wind. MY cycling plan, tour of the wisteria tunnel at Botanical Garden and boat ride were all not fulfilled. I was also told that the shops were mostly closed on that day, which was a Wednesday ????
Nevertheless, it was worth a visit to the town, it is so beautiful and lovely. I will be back ????

Sawara is located in Katori, Chiba, Japan.
Sawara has been settled since prehistoric times, and has numerous remains of Jōmon period shell middens and Kofun period burial mounds. Traditional events were celebrated every year. Early February to late March they celebrate the Hina Doll Tour also known as Girls Day is a festival to pray for the health and safety of daughters by displaying hina dolls on the Peach Day. Sawara Grand Festival celebration is July and October is traditionally believed in Japan that countless gods and deities live in the country. This is because agriculture, including rice faming, has long played a significant role in the lives of Japanese people. Farmers and others held many festivals to have gods grant their wishes. The Sawara Wife Association organizes the Bon Festival in Sawara in mid-August every year. As part of the event, people release lanterns into the Onogawa River, which runs through central Katori City. That is called Yume Toro Nagashi (Dream lantern releasing). The Suigo Omigawa Fireworks Festival One of the greatest fireworks events in the Kanto region, the traditional Suigo Omigawa Fireworks Festival over the Omigawa River has been lighting up the night sky over the riverside region for more than a century. The annual fireworks festival is held on Aug. 1 on the bank of the Tonegawa River near the Omigawa Ohashi Bridge. Of 8,000 fireworks set off in the festival, the spectacular view of the “on-the-water-surface star mine” and Niagara Falls set fireworks has especially won high praise, attracting more than 150,000 spectators each year.

About Sawara
SAWARA, an old wealthy merchant town is in Eastern Chiba Prefecture. Sometimes called a “Little Edo” because of the many attractive, historic stone, timber and tile-roofed shops and fireproof storehouses; known as “kura”, dating from the Edo-Period (1603 to 1868) which line the beautiful willow tree-lined Ono River. This river flows through the center of town beneath picturesque bridges before joining the Tone River which flows eastward to the Pacific Ocean. Sawara was also the home of the famed polymath, Ino Tadataka, a former merchant, village leader and astronomer who created Japan’s first accurate modern map which was completed in 1827. Sawara grand festival is one of the UNESCO-recognized intangible cultural assets of Japan.
About Eighty Days
Japan’s ancient streetscapes and natural environment have managed to maintain their beauty to the present day by coexisting with their inhabitants. But this ancient coexistence is beginning to fray. The Japanese countryside is now dotted with abandoned houses, and without young people to pass them down to, it’s cultural traditions face a crisis of succession. At the same time as Japan’s population has continued to fall, the number of foreign tourists visiting Japan has increased five-fold in the last six years. We here at Eighty Days saw this as an opportunity to harness the power of Japan’s growing number of tourists to make a contribution to Japan’s regional revitalization efforts.

Long time no see!!! Its been awhile since my last video!
In this video, I decided to help my good friend Yohei with this project his part of. Its called Sawara Experience. They will bring international students to this town called Sawara and make them experience the culture and interact with people. Sawara has a lot of historical buildings and big shrines and they have a famous festival called Sawara no Taisai. It was a rainy day so could not get a nice view of the area but you get to see if the international students enjoyed it or not. Hope you guys like the video!!

水郷佐原あやめ祭り2 おらんだ楽隊と佐原囃子の演奏
あやめ祭り期間中は、お囃子を聞くことができます。
おらんだ楽隊
千葉県無形文化財『おらんだ楽隊』は市内にあります香取神宮の神幸祭で演奏されるお囃子で、あやめパークのある扇島地区に伝承されています。午年に行われる式年神幸祭のおり、香取神宮の神様が鹿島神宮の神様と利根川の上で対面しますが、この香取神宮の神様の御座船を牽引する引き船隊のお囃子がおらんだ楽隊と呼ばれ伝承されています。あやめパークでは、この伝統あるおらんだ楽隊を園内水路の舟及び園内通路にて入園者の皆様にご披露しています。
佐原ばやし
国の重要無形民俗文化財に指定される『佐原囃子』は、7月に行われる八坂神社の祇園祭・10月の諏訪神社の秋祭りに曳き廻される山車の上で演奏されるお囃子です。
佐原囃子は400年以上前の天正年間の神楽囃子に発し、その後江戸文化と交流の中、能や歌舞伎の囃子の影響を受け現在の形態になってと云われています。あやめパークでは、この伝統ある佐原囃子を園内水路の舟にて入園者の皆様にご披露いたします。その際、お囃子に合わせて踊りも披露されます。
