旧国幣中社・壱岐・住吉神社 (Iki - Sumiyoshi Shrine)
住吉神社は全国各地に数多く存在していますが、今回ご紹介するのは壱岐にある住吉神社です。
旧社格は国幣中社。壱岐に存在する唯一の旧官国弊社。
住吉大神の守護によって三韓征伐を為し遂げた神功皇后が、その帰途、現在の壱岐市郷ノ浦町大浦触に上陸して底筒男命・中筒男命・表筒男命の三神を祀ったのがこの神社の始まりです。
故に、日本初の住吉神社とも言われています。
Sumiyoshi Shrine is a Shinto Shrine in the city of Iki in Nagasaki Prefecture, Japan.
Under the pre-World War Ⅱ Modern system of ranked Shinto Shrines, the shrine was classified as a national shrine of the middle rank.
This Shrine is the oldest shrine that enshrines the Sumiyoshi sanjin.

現存する社殿は黒田長政が1623年に再建したもので、国指定の重要文化財。

Dancing to the Dragon God at Sumiyoshi Taisha Osaka-Japan.
Many dances are held at Sumiyoshi Taisha (住吉大社) in Osaka-Japan during the annual “Rice Planting Matsuri” (御田植神事). One of those performed by the Mitoshime (御稔女) is a dance dedicated to the Dragon God (Okami no Kami - 淤加美神). Using Noh gestures the Mitoshime receives a golden crown adorned with a dragon and rice seedlings. Because the rice cannot grow without water this dance is a gesture to the gods for abundant rain.
Okami no kami (淤加美神) is a legendary Japanese dragon and Shinto deity of rain and snow.

壱岐の住吉神社で行われたもので、四本幣舞、二弓舞、猿田彦舞、天宇豆女舞を収録。

Sushi at Nigiri Chojiro Kanbe Sumiyoshi (Kobe, Japan) Oishi!

You know those sushi-go-rounds in America? Well this in not one of them. This sushi is excellent. We got a sashimi plate. A mixed sushi plate and some Unagi (eel) rolls, my favorite. :)
And yes, Nigiri Chojiro Kanbe Sumiyoshi, is the actual name of the restaurant.
Kobe Japan is a great place for sushi because they have an excellent ocean port, so the fish is fresh. Also it's less crowded than Tokyo and Osaka.

日本三大住吉の一つ（他には大阪の住吉大社 、博多の住吉神社）
創設は、仲哀天皇9年と言われている 神功皇后が三韓征伐の際に
「我が荒魂を穴門（長門）の山田邑に祀れ」と神託がありまして
建てたのだそうです。
住吉大社が和魂を祀るのに対して、この神社は荒魂を祀っている
本殿は、1370年に大内弘世が、 拝殿は、１５３９年に毛利元就が寄進したものとされている

月読尊を訪ねて 月読神社 編（京都・嵐山）
昨年３月桂離宮を訪ねた際、桂離宮の地にかって月読神社が在ったことを知り、度重なる桂川の氾濫で松尾大社の摂社として現在の場所に移つされたとの事です。１年経ってようやく訪ねることが出来ました。
（山城国とは現在の京都・太秦辺りを比定地とされています。）

天神祭 The Tenjin-Matsuri Festival in OSAKA 2011 HD
Having a history of more than 1,000 years, the Tenjin Matsuri, which is one of the three greatest festivals of Japan, is also the world's greatest boat festival. It is a summer festival held at the Tenman Shrine dedicated to Sugawara-no-Michizane (845-903), who is deified as Tenman Tenjin, the patron god of learning and art. On the days of the festival, traditional Japanese performing arts such as kagura music, which is performed when paying homage to gods, and bunraku theatrical performances using puppets are performed in all parts of the city, and the entire city becomes filled with a festive mood.
One of the highlights of the festival is the land procession, which is a parade of some 3,000 people dressed in the imperial-court style of the 8th-12th Centuries marching beside portable shrines. The other highlight is the boat procession, when the same 3,000 people board some 100 boats from the approach of the Tenmabashi Bridge and sail upstream.
At dusk, the boats lit up with fires which are ignited to illuminate the surroundings for patrolling or fishing are reflected on the river surface, creating an exquisite view. And on the riverbanks where pavilions are set up, the citizens and tourists enjoy the cool evening air as they cheer at the Tenjin Matsuri Hono Hanabi fireworks display taking place at the same time.
The Osaka-style handclapping for closing a ceremony performed when the crowd of 3,000 returns to the Tenman Shrine is well worth seeing, too. The rhythmical handclaps and shouts evoke an air of the ideal Osaka iki (stylish and charming) lifestyle held by the townspeople in the Edo Period; which is quite distinct from Tokyo-style iki. This festival is just the place to visit if you want to get to know more about Osaka.
