This is our favorite route which is working pretty well especially when the meltemi‘s presence is remarkable
It is a combination of some busy islands, like Naxos, with some tiny, quite places, where you will meet the real Cyclades
The sailing legs are not very long, ideal for the beginners or for families with kids, leaving you plenty of time to enjoy swimming and relaxing under the hot summer sun.
The early arrivals at the islands give you the opportunity to walk or drive around in order to explore the unique scenery.

Ionian sea: Sailing from Italy to Greece (#10)
As we cross from Messina, Italy, to Gouvia (Corfou), Greece, we rest in Erikoussa. A stop welcomed after head winds gusting unexpectedly above 35 knots (for 160 miles of the total trip of 272).
Erikoussa is beautiful. Anchorages are few but you can find beaches for yourself!
We picked our last rock samphire of the season and found some very good wild sage as well to restock our home-made herbal teas.
Locals have it that Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras is a school-friend of the island's mayor and loves to come here for getting away. We did not meet him but met instead a friendly camper who shared a Frappé with us. A lovely encounter.

Summer in Greece ☼ (2018)
I don't remember how the topic of going to Greece came about, but just like my Vietnam trip, it was spontaneously brought up and it was a plan that came to life! My two friends and I got to spend two incredible weeks in Greece from the 7th to the 22nd of July. We managed to visit 4 Greek Islands (Zakynthos, Naxos, Mykonos, Milos) and Athens.
In Zakynthos, we managed to hire a day boat and drive it around Marathonisi Island. We also rented a car and drove to Navagio (Shipwreck Beach) and Porto Limnionas. We only spent 3 days there, but it made us so excited for what was to come. Those 3 days were so magical and unreal.
Next, we went to Naxos where the network service was awful and there wasn't much to do besides tanning at the beach or pool (which I can't complain about, really). We did go on a tour around Naxos' inland, which was quite nice. I also had the tastiest souvlaki there!
Then, it was time to head to Mykonos, where my friends and I partied every night but not the true Mykonian style (we were always tired by 1am lol). We were only there for 4 days. I wish we could've stayed there longer! It was a true crazy but incredibly fun experience.
The last island we visited was Milos. This was the island I was most excited about and it definitely met its expectations. On our first day there, we went on a sailing trip around the South of Milos visiting many beautiful beaches with crystal clear waters. It was an incredible day filled with the blazing sun, clear waters and delicious food. The next day we rented a quad bike and drove to Papafragas and Sarakiniko (where I got stung by a sea anemone on my bottom lol so we had to cut our time there short, which I was so BUMmed about! lol). As we were lacking sleep and one of us was sick, we mainly chilled in Milos.
Lastly, for the last two days, we spent it in Athens (not shown at all in the video) exploring small areas of it and just relaxing. I got to explore the Acropolis, Monastiraki, Mount Lycabettus and Plaka. I actually had a really nice time in Athens!
Anyway, I wish I could've flown my drone more, as well as recorded better footage and understood how to use my GoPro dome better. But oh well. I can only learn from my mistakes! Hopefully you still enjoyed this video though ☺️.

Sailing in Greece - Orbita Promo Video
So Orbita Sailing invited us over to spend one week in Greece and explore some of the most beautiful islands in the world. The week full of sailing through the Saronic gulf, watching breathtaking sunsets, enjoying the famous Greek cuisine, learning a new culture and mainly meeting new friends. This is what we went down! Aging in the Aegean Episode 1: Athens/Mykonos, Setting Sail, and Birthday Celebration
Eight Strangers Frolic Through the Fountain of the Earth
Shown in Episode 1 is the arrival in Athens followed by Mykonos before we set sail. We explored the acropolis and rode ATVs around the island of wind ending up at the light house on the north side.
We set sail on the Aegean to conquer as much of the Cyclades as possible. First port shown in this episode is Paros, with a great night life to celebrate Brooke's birthday we started the trip out with a bang, partying until the sun was coming up.
Sailing the Aegean was just such an amazing and unique experience. All my favorite memories of this trip could have only been had seeing the Cyclades this way.
Special thanks to our captain Dimitris and Sail in Greek Waters for doing all they could to make this adventure so memorable.
